54. Good Girls Go To Heaven (Bad Girls Go Everywhere)
This is the START OUT OF HELL & ARRIVE TO HEAVEN topic.
Let's Go to Rock 'n' Roll!!!!!!! Good Girls Go To Heaven (Bad Girls Go Everywhere) (7) I think this is the worst song on this album - if I say that. It's better than Pandora's Box version. Meat sang it in 1993 but the mood is a progressive rock from '80's years. It is not really Meat's style I think. And a question: Who are Jenny and Johnny? My score: 7 Average: 9.24 (92.4/10) |
Amazing rock 'n' roll song. Not Meat's style???? This is Meat's style. Song comparable with Nowhere Fast. Very Good powerfull song. Absolutely written for Meat, because the Pandora's Box version is missing the power.
My score: 8/9 |
I love that song like I love all the others on Bat2!!
10/10 |
Michel!
Maybe for this reason I can't like it! It comperables with Nowhere Fast. It isn't good omen to me... |
Great Song!! That sax in this song is super!! Also great lyrics and so powerfull.
This is Meat's style. Hope Bat 3 will have more of this songs! 9/10 |
Have you already listened to the great live version from Nowhere Fast, White Of High?

When I first got into Meat's music, via Bat 2, I didn't think a lot of it. Then, it grew on me till now I love it. And I can't get enough of the Pandora's Box version. I love the usage of the cha-cha-cha beat and the guitar/synth combo at the end. And I like the changes Jim made to the lyrics for Meat's version, subtle but clever.
Dave. |
As good as any Bat song. I liked it from the first listen.
10/10 |
Oh yeah, this one should've been on a Best Of album somewhere. I can say there's not a single song on Bat II that is below a 10/10 for me. The whole album is my favourite ML album.
So this song gets 10/10 |
Just like A Slice Of English said, nothing on Bat II could get lower than 10/10. This is brilliant and what is even better is the live version from Live Around the World.
10/10 |
I went through a phase (I always go through phases...) of listening to this song non-stop for about a month (think the most in one go was a solid hour on repeat :? !). And just listened to it again for the first time in a while and once again realised how great a song it is. The lyrics are amazin anyway, Meat just puts the icing on the cake!
9.9/10 |
it ain't right it ain't fair
castles fade in the sand and we fade in the air and the good girls go to heaven and the bad girls go everywhere! great song, i love it, lotz! 9.5\10 |
It became CARPE NOCTEM in Jim's phenomenal rock-opera TANZ DER VAMPIRE. A much better version, despite the only similiarities are that opening bit (which also appears in BACK INTO HELL). I like the middle section: "every time I try and dream you..." and the following instrumental (and I swear this on my life) re-uses the motorcycle from the start of I'D DO ANYTHING... lol. 9/10 - better than anything on WTTN, that's for sure!!

Has anyone ever heard the Japanese version? Apparently it came out THREE YEARS BEFORE the one on Pandora's Box ---
|
One of my favorites on Bat II! It's like "Good Girls..." was part I, "RnRDreams" part II and "Lost Boys and Golden Girls" part III of a same thing...
I love that part: "Every time I try and dream you I can't believe how hard it's been to Conjure up your face and trace your body in the air All the seconds go on forever And the thirds and fourths ones are even better Every time I do it just a little bit longer Every time I dream it's just a little bit stronger... than real life!" This is definitely a great Meat song! it fits him so well! and even better performed live! 9/10 ps: and I do love "Nowhere Fast"! |
This song just sucks. Wrong voice, wrong production. This song is not written for Meat's voice.
Meats version: 4 Pandora's Box: 8. |
I adore the PB version of this song, and whilst I love the Bat 2 version it does lack a certain something, not sure what it lacks, but it lacks it.
Like many of Jims songs, I prefer the first version I heard of it (we all remember our first time don't we  ) so this is probably why Meats version seems to be lacking something to me. My dog always howls during the Saxophone intro as well, which makes listening to it a little tricky..... (the bagpipes at the end of Everything Louder set him off as well incidentally). All in all a 7.5/10 |

Good Girls Go To Heaven (Bad Girls Go Everywhere)
I love this song. Not only are the music and lyrics classic Steinman/Meat, I gave birth to my daughter to this song! In our family, we now refer to Good Girls as "her" song. It was the first one she learned by heart. For that reason alone, it will always be one of my favorites. :D

Live around the world version: 8/10
|
This Is a typical stinman and Meat song need i say more 10/10
|
I really feel that this is one of the strongest songs on the album and would give it 9/10
|
I think that itīs not as bad as people try to talk it to.
I like the mood, but why pushes it down is the really bad intro. With another intro it really would be great. I like how the back into hell part was used in it. 7 |
