Unheard version of Testify!!!
 

A good friend of mine who is also the manager of a music store sent me something hes had laying around in his office for a while.

A 2003 promo only version titled "Couldn't Have Said It Better (Myself)" (not the 'myself' still on the end.)

Anyway, the album is the same as the released verson with the exception of the Intermizion between Man Of Steel & Testify and Mercury is listed as track 12 with there being NO Bat live...

Anyway, to my shock, Testify is different!!! Not overly different, but you notice it right away.

Has anyone else heard this version?

I'd post an mp3 link but not too sure on the rules. It's not something you can buy or that was released, its not a bootleg and not making money from it. Is that still against rules?

But can you have a link to your own home page which has your own mp3s (not Meat Loaf ones) but your own music ??

Yes, that promo saw light of day in January 2003. Fire Ball told us, that there are "rough versions" on the promo, missing some parts he hadn't give to record company that time.

So no "different versions", but "unfinished versions" on that promo.

But a nice piece, really ... !

Sorry for the late reply, but could you please explain what is different about this version of Testiy - as I was one of the lucky souls to have this promo prior to CHSIB-release, but apart from the song being longer (about 5 seconds) and being a Testify-believer from day 1...I have yet to find the great differences between both versions!?...but, as I know I can make stupid mistakes sometimes lol...please tell me what you think is obviously different, please!

Story-telling moment for me...early 2003 I didn't 'know' anyone from here...but was fortunate enough to run into someone from a teletext-add where I had been asking for Meat-material...we talked and he happened to work in a import-cd-store...he was not communicating to any other fans at that time (turned out to be an old friend of Bart!), when his boss told him 'I have the promo of CHSIB and you can have it, he called me and just said 'I will send it to you today' ...lighting only strikes onces, but I felt blessed:D

Nothing much is different, the odd 'oooooooooh I testify' thrown in now and then, nothing fantastic. I was just shocked when I heard it and needed so see if anyone else has.

I got it from ebay France a long time ago... :mrgreen: ...and yes, there are small differencies, not only on Testify, even if those are more obvious on that particular song...

Gotta listen to it again to tell more about it...
