General Election 2005 Thread
Well, it's that time of year again, i'm not old enough to vote but i hope the Lib Dems win, since i've sort of gone off Tory Blair(not a typo), and i'm not a fan of Howard. Labour made themselves out to be this 'working class party'. But after 18 years of Tory rule they're just as right wing as the Conservatives, what happend?
|
I'm not old enough to vote either but I think the Lib Dems have as much chance of getting in as BNP. I think it's another year with Labour although I have to say they have done quiet a bit for this country, people only see the bad unfortunately.
|
I suppose my first general election vote will have to be for the geordie
|
I'll be starting my own party, British people for Interesting Fascism, or B.I.F.
Seriously, another few years of Blair are excpected, I honestly don't care, because they're all the same. |
Actually Rob, Labour and Conservative used to be very different, labour were working class, pro trade unions, but the tories were(and still are)pro middle and upper class and pro big buisiness, and hated trade unions. The trouble is, to gain support from the usually anti Labour, right wing press, labour abandoned their grass roots support for the sake of the good press coverage, and as a result have forgotten the troubles that face the everyday working class like you and me. These days because of the switch to the more Conservative, Non Labour style there really in no real difference between the two, there is no real opposition, for example they were both supporters of the war.

One more thing for those in doubt of the lib dems, there's a web site that puts thing into perspective and shows us whats wrong with politics these days, it's from Brian Eno, www.libdemthistime.org
|
03gills not to sound pretentious but I'm quite aware of the political history of the country. I need something slightly more radical than a centralist party which is exactly what the Liberal Democrats are.
Sorry, but I need something different to keep be interested, nothing gets done when you offer the vote to the people. We need a dictator, a benevolent one of course... |
Additional post: Regarding the war, whatever the government had done, it would'nt have been a popular choice. Catch 22 much?

Bye bye Tony, hello Andy!  |
Looks like it could be a landslide victory for the AndyK Party Party ... free beer will only be available on the MHS to those who can prove they have a medical need for it ... all that will be needed is a simple breath test, once you've proved that you're breathing then vouchers will be issued, which will be redeemable at the Bat and Belfry :-D
|
*Grabs the tattoo gun and writes "Vote AndyK! Free Beer!" over Tony Blair's forehead*
I like these subtle touches... |
is it just me or is Michael Howard a very creepy man???
would you really want him as prime minister? |
Tony Blair is the lesser of two evils here. No point throwing a vote away on any party that won't get it. Our economy is stable and we have good international standing. I predict a comfprtable win for the Labour Party.

Ho hum...another four years of Blair...
