No doubt there are different interpretations of it but mine is:

Some nights I lose the feeling
He's got no circulation in his legs anymore

and some nights i lose control
He's lost that much circulation that he's started to convulse and has spasms in his legs

some nights i just lose it all when i watch you dance and the thunder rolls
That's it he's in full blown seizure because this really big woman is sat on top of him doing the rhumba and her belly is going up and down with such force that the rolls of fat sounds like train (hence the thunder)

I never think it's a good idea to take a couple of lines of lyrics in isolation and try to analyse what they mean. You need to look at them in the context of the song as a whole.

AFL is a very powerful love song. He loves her and he'd do anything for her. He's experiencing all the crazy feelings you get when you're in love. His emotions are all over the place. Extreme highs, extreme lows, passion, uncertainty, fear etc. So it's no wonder that some nights he loses the feeling and some nights he loses control. Some nights he's even praying to the god of sex and drums and rock and roll forgawdssakes.

No, ofcourse its the ultimate love song, but he puts a lot of humor in it too.
