I don't know if any of you have heard, and maybe some think it is too personal a subject of Meats to talk about, but I heard something very shocking on Chat last night that seems to be true.

Basically, it seems that Meat and Leslie, his wife of many years, have split. They are divorced and Meat has a fiancee. If you look on the OIFC message board there are many comments about it. It happened about 2 years ago apparently, but I don't know if many people knew. Apparently the fiancee was at many of Meats Summer Tour concerts.

Obviously we have all seen Hell And Back, and read the book, so it seemed they were inseperable. After all, they got through the eighties together - surely nothing could be worse for them than that? Apparently they are still working together on the new album, but I was totally and utterly gutted to here about the split - it shatters all your illusions to hear news like that. It was Leslie that started the red hankie on stage thing, it was her that he proposed to in the middle of a concert, and if you read the book it is obvious just how much they mean to each other. Perhaps it is ironic that the split happened not long after Is Nothing Sacred Anymore was released - the words are so fitting.

I really can't get used to the idea of Meat having a new wife - how can she know him anywhere near as well as Leslie did, after all they had been through and how far back they went? Obviously Meat knows what he is doing better than anyone, but it just seems wrong - such a shame. But as the big man said - "this is rock and roll - anything goes." :cry:

I've heard a lot about this over the past few months, but nothing concrete. Some of the rumours seem pretty convincing though. Meat's profile at the IMDB site lists him as divorced from 2001. I've also seen a picture of Meat attending the Hart's War premiere with someone who (somebody said) was his girlfriend, but again there is no concrete evidence.

I would only be sure about it if Meat himself said something. But I don't expect him to say anything in the near future, and he certainly isn't obliged too...that's not to say I wouldn't listen.

Perhaps he was a bad husband but he's still a good father- look at everything he's done for Pearl and she isn't his biological daughter but he still treats her like she is.

Oh without a doubt - I would never suggest he was a bad husband. I mean he had his problems in the 80's, and I'm sure he did things then that were a bit wrong, but we should remember that he was being dumped on from a great height by everyone close to him - how would anyone react. We don't know anything about the divorce, and anyway if he is still working with Les then it must have been amicable.

I was saying on the chat room on Sunday that credit must go to Pearl, as it can't be easy touring with your Mum's estranged husband, who like you say isn't even your biological Dad (although I am sure she sees him as her real dad). But also we must credit Meat - both Pearl and Amanda have been looked after 110% by Meat (and Les I'm sure), and there are not many rock stars who could put their daughter on stage with them. Mind there are not many rock stars daughters who can sing like Pearl. He should be very proud, and is I'm sure.

Meat is still a legend as far as I'm concerned, it just tarnishes the fantasy a little - they seemed the perfect couple. Lets wish everyone concerned all the best tho. :D

I think he should marry Jim Steinman- how great would that be!

8O I lost a bit of sleep on this one last night.
IF it's true it's a real shame.Meat and Leslie seemed to be the perfect couple(that's a rare thing in rock & roll,hey it's a rare thing full stop).
I do think though that it's the wrong time for finger pointing,after all I noticed the phrase "nothing concrete" a couple of times so hope against hope the roumours are not true.Does anyone know where the roumer started?
But if it is true,I'd like to join STEINBAT in offering my deepest sypathy :cry: to Meat,Leslie and the girls,and wish them all the best and happiness in the future :lol:

The first I heard was from someone on chat last Sunday - he has a tribute band, goes to Meat concerts dressed as the big man, and seems to have dedicated his life to being obsessed by him!! If you go on the OIFC site there are a lot of mentions on the 'leave a message for Meat' section, and many celebrity photo websites show him with someone described as 'friend' to 'girlfriend' to 'fiancee'. It seems that they are indeed engaged and she attends many of his concerts.

What many people also dont know is that Pearl too has been married and divorced - and she's only 27!

I'd just like to wish Les and Meat and familly all the best with what ever happens out of this situation and even thought it's sad you can't forget that they are still human and you know sometimes even the strongest love can't last forever! :cry: :(

I also agree with THE FLYING MOUSE Don't go pointing the finger even though it seems that what has been said is true you don't know what happen for it to end and the way I see it I don't think we'll ever know coz really it's personal and there maybe not anyone to blame they could just drifted apart!

Anywayz i'm going on it's 2am (hey i'm a bat I sleep all day and spend all nite awake) and well I hope I get my point across :?

Steinbat, could you please post some links (or tell me which websites) for the photos of Meat Loaf and the other woman? (If you remember them). I have only seen one, of Meat Loaf and Mrs X (lol) at the Hart's War premiere.

Sorry - I haven't seen any of the sites myself - I was given some addresses by someone but couldn't access any of the sites without becoming a member. HEAT, who posts some stuff on this board, has been on though I think - you could try asking her.

I was at the Sarnia Concert and I was talking to some people and this pretty blonde came running up from the Tour buses and someone said it was his girlfriend

Just remembered, when the tour bus arrived at Liverpool some blonde lass got off but she looked too young to be with him. Wasn't that pretty either.

The woman in the Heart's War premier pix is the same one I saw him with in May at the Kentucky Derby. I've seen posts from other fans that saw them there too. It's my understanding she was also at the NOTP tour in Europe last Nov-Dec. The lady in the www.wireimage.com pix in the golf cart is a much older lady..probably a rep from the golf tourny he was at. I'm glad to see he still is close to his children and I have heard that he and Leslie are still friends and business associates as well. I wish them all the best whatever the situation. Pearl is divorced and dating Scot Ian from Anthrax as he's been seen in several pix from the recent concerts.

I was at the Kentucy Derby too. She (the new woman) looked to be about 10 years younger than Meat maybe? Also...bleached hair and fake tan. Sorry..call it like I see em! lol I too wish all the Adays the best!
