Funny story

Well I went to Meats concert 22nd Jan. We had just finished watching Kasim and just as Meat was on stage and Love, Death and an American guitar was on this man said your in my seat. So we go mad  saying I've got my ticket this is my seat. Well it turns out we had turned up to the concert two days early  but of what I say on that day it drove me mad I wanted to see the rest.

Does anyone else have any funny stories? 8)

Well, i was at jan 22, and I was up headbanging with my cousin and the people behind me only tapped on my shoulder and said "can you sit down?"

SIT DOWN? AT A MEAT LOAF CONCERT?!?!
8O
I couldn't believe my ears! And it gets better! She only got up and went to get a supervisor! Surprisingly they didnt come back with her! :lmao:

Airhead, I had the same thing happen at a concert in the US in December 2002. I simply assumed that everyone would be UP and rocking to Meat- why even buy a ticket if you are going to sit? (Unless some people aren't able to stand, that I understand.) Anyway, my best friend and I would sit for the ballads, but anything else- we were up. About halfway through Paradise, the people behind us were yelling "sit down!"- to which we replied "get up, it's Meat!" Anyway, a few minutes later, one of them reached over, put their hands on my friend's shoulders and pushed her into her seat! Now, my friend is pretty sedate- she's a Christian school teacher and runs the sound board at our church- but she turned around and let loose with a string of curse words that I haven't heard her say since!

You should of been at Wembley then, the supervisor would of came back and MADE you sit  stupid jobsworths

On the rescheduled date from when Meat collapsed, we all had the same seats. I couldnt belive that the woman from the 1st date who had got the supervisor to get me to sit remembered me a month later lol. I was standing again on the new date and low and behold she comes up behind me and says. You were told to sit before, now sit!! cheeky

My funniest story wasnt on this tour but back in 99 (I think) could of been 98. Meat was going to be on never mind the buzzcocks. Its a very popluar show here in uk and I managed to get 2 tickets for me and a friend. We went along on the night, now with the bbc just cause you have a ticket for a show doesnt mean yuo are guaranteed to get in. The 1st so many in are, then the rest get a different ticket which is like a reserve. If you dont get in to the recording with that, then you get priority tix for another show. Anyway we got there very very early so as to make sure we got in the 1st lot. (Didnt see Meats car at all all day. Which was odd as they usually come in for rehearsals. ) we finally got in and had the good tickets. but got talking to a few security people who told us Meats name wasnt on the list for tthe show. So we decided not to stay and to find 2 deserving looking souls with the reserve tickets to give ours to, so that they could get in ok. needless to say they were both very happy and thought we were insane for leaving lol. Getting out of one of these shows is nearly as hard as getting in, and we had to make up some story about someone at home being ill so they'd let us leave. On our way out, what did we see in the car park, but Meats car!!! So now we had to get back in lol. we'd swapped tickets with the 2 who had our tickets, so we flashed them at the door and somehow managed to bluff our way back into the 1st area. But now we were stuck with maybe not getting in cause we had reserve tickets. We got in the queue with the ones who had ok tickets lol and covered up the bit that had reserve on and by some fluke managed to get in!! The 2 we had gave our tickets 2 saw us and wondered what had happened. Thankfully it all worked out ok and it was the funniest thing I have ever seen Meat do. the recording was sooooooooo long and looooads of it had to be cut for the final show. i just wish the rest could of been shown.

My "ticket story" was last September - I posted about it then -- I drove to Cleveland (150 miles) and left my tickets home in Columbus. 'doh!!!! Very possibly the dumbest thing I ever did. And the aggravating/funny part was that I had spent some time planning the trip, got all my stuff together the night before, printed out maps of downtown so I could walk around and not get lost, etc. etc.

We just were so into our conversation that we totally missed Meat coming towards us haha!!!

The security-woman from the November 17th show came up to me and Eva before the 22nd show started. She told me 'don't you pretend you cannot understand me - I know you CAN! - when I tell you to sit, you better sit. I did not answer her... - she didn't bother us again the entire evening!? Did however get a security-guy to 'garde' us (I got him to stand up and sing along 8) )
It was a great night! :bunny:

I prefer to avoid the 'ebay tickets-sitting/standing seats-security' funny stories 'cause it drove me completely NUTS!

Moreover, I had to flirt with at least 5 security guys in order to make my way to the front!
I lost my umbrella and my ring at Wembley (once on 17th Nov but I found it and then I lost it for good on 22nd Jan)!!!!
I almost punched a (nasty) security woman!

Fortunately I had a great great time there! no sleep but fun! :)) :bunny:

At all the concerts I've been to, except the last 2 glasgow ones )because they were standing) - I've been asked to sit down - and me and my mum and sister nearly got kicked out the SECC at the tour for Bat 2 and Welcome to the Neighbourhood because we refused. Meat is my hero - why would I sit down!!!!!!!!!!!!

AndyK 11 Mar 2004 23:59

The only problems/funny stories I have from the last tour involve someone waving a teddy bear in front of my camera the whole night at Wembley, and someone talking to my elbow for the Manchester and Sheffield shows :lmao:

Funny story

Well we had to go but on Jan 24 it was really good I saw a teddy being waved on both Jan 22 and 24 me an dmy friend looked at each other and burst out laughing.
Another funny story is my dads friend got expelled because he played bat out of hell when his headmaster walked on stage (they all called him vampire cos they only saw him at night) so his music teacher went mad as he got the joke.

in the belfast concert in 1999 meat told some guy
to join him on stage..
when the guy jumped over the fence he kicked me in the
head and i screamed and meat just gave me this
blank stupid look!!

Oriel 12 Mar 2004 15:11

For you worthless scum who stood up in a seated area during the concert, if it was me behind you, I would have ripped your head off and sent it down to crowdsurf.

If you want to stand, by a standing ticket. If you prefer to sit, buy a sitting ticket.

Honestly, you f*cukers make me sick. Do you not release the fact that you completely ruined some other Meat Loaf fan's night? They didn't pay £30 to watch your fat ass all night.

</end of rant>
