AndyK 09 Mar 2004 21:00

another one for off topic........

Rob The Badger 09 Mar 2004 22:29

Anyone who votes 'no' needs to buy themselves a sense of humour. . .and a pair of ears.

Caz 09 Mar 2004 23:42

I like them ..... but i got to say that as Leanne likes them

*Remembers the original glam rock type days .... ahhhhh memories*

black dog 09 Mar 2004 23:45

Don't really listen to the radio so I haven't really heard any of their music but the little bit I did hear I wasn't that impressed with. Have decided not to vote as I haven't heard enough to make an opinion.

Normally listen to CD's in the car

Keep Rocking 10 Mar 2004 09:19

They were the opening group for Meat in Germany; so I have seen them three times. I think they are a bunch of very crazy people :) But the music is nothing I want to hear all day- you have to be in a special mood to listen to them (drunk? )

scotty 10 Mar 2004 16:52

I'm going to vote NO as I grew up with the likes of Iron Maiden and then Guns N Roses and Metallica and they to me are real rock bands.
I'm not a great lover of men singing high pitch! maybe i'm just getting old!! :D

Although I am open to change so watch this space!

airhead 10 Mar 2004 17:01

They sing a little too much like the genius rock band known as queen for my liking.

Rob The Badger 10 Mar 2004 19:08

I don't get the Queen references, personally. Anyway, Queen were hardly genius. . .

Heli 10 Mar 2004 19:38

I like Queen!! Some good tunes, and their stage presence were amazing!!

Rob The Badger 10 Mar 2004 19:40

I agree with everything Heli just said. However, Brian Wilson is a genius, Mercury was not.

Brian May dear!! Brian MAY!!!!

RSG 12 Mar 2004 03:20

Mercury had some great vocals! Loved to hear him sing, still do. Brian May, is a nice singer too, but more of a great writer.

Here is a Didja know?

Didja know that Brian May worked with Meat in I believe 1986 to do a song called, "A Time For Heroes."

Brian Wilson (The Beach Boys) was a genius, Brian May (Queen) was not.

Louise 12 Mar 2004 11:50

I think the Darkness are fantastic and Justin can be my toyboy anyday! (not that there's that much difference in our ages!)

Louise x

Weezy 12 Mar 2004 13:44

The Darkness Rock!! 8)

Louise

Mr Loaf 12 Mar 2004 13:45

Darkness are great. It is an album I listen to quite regularly.

As for the Queen debate, Freddie Mercury was definately a genius. One of the greatest vocalists of our time. And I really do think that Brian May is one of the best guitarists anyone could ever listen to.

Sorry I was confused, i thought we were still talking about Queen!! lmao!!

Chris 12 Mar 2004 20:16

I really like the Darkness.

IMHO, Queen and Brian Wilson are both geniuses (geniii???).

Two random facts for you...

Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody was thefirst song to have a video created specially for it. They invented the concept of MTV!!!

Brian May (the second best guitarist in the world after SlowHand) (married to Anite Dobson from Eastenders ya know!!) is a qualified Astronomer and regularly appears ont he Sky At Night with Sir Patrick Moore.

Related random fact - I was once at a meal with patrick Moore and will never forget him rearranging the cruet on the table to demonstate the theory of a Planetary Grand Cross!!!

Tis one of the very few famous people i have ever met!!! I am allowed to drop names!!!

Caz 14 Mar 2004 13:49

Queen are one of the few bands I've ever regretted NOT seeing live. Only other one was Meat, but I remedied that twice in January :D :D

Not sure if there are any others around that I would actually PAY good money to go and see at the moment.

Elton John?!?!?!

Rob The Badger 14 Mar 2004 21:23

I'm paying to see Morrissey this year. Possibly the Manics, and anything else that catches my fancy. . .
