A bit of movie gossip....
 

Not sure if anyone else has posted this but....

The comedy Rock Group, Tenacious D (Kyle Grass and Jack Black (him form High Fidelity)) have just finished writing the new screenplay of "Tenacious D In The Pick Of Destiny" a spoof biopic. They are hoping to film later next year for a release date in early 2005.

The exciting news is that they are desperate for meat to play the character of jack's dad. Apparently they really want him and might even be willing to alter the filming dates to fit in around his schedule!!!

How this fits in with Meats return leg of the tour i do not know!!!

well i know for a fact it is true. Jack Black was on the Sharon Osborne show last week and was telling the story of wanting to get Meat to play his father. I hope Meat will do it, and can do it. But first he has to do the Babe Ruth story.

Just looking at www.imdb.com and Meat as supposedly now signed up to play Jack Blacks father in Tenacious D. The Pick Of Destiny. As Chris mentioned, release date is suppose to be early 2005, but this maybe put back because of Jack Blacks commitment to The new King Kong movie. This was posted on Internet Movie database on 3rd July.

Where do you see this ? I just looked at the cast listing for Tenacious D, which hasn't been updated since May 16th, 2003, and don't see Meat's name listed.

It's been posted by someone on the messaging board for this movie, apparently its been announced on www.hsx.com.
