Woo hoo, I got my avatar to work
In case anybody has had the same difficulty I did:
Earthlink's built-in site builder was enlarging the jpeg to 130 px after I had shrunk it to 95x100, and then on top of that wouldn't let mlukfc link to it. So I deleted the site and published a new one to my free webspace, just using Netscape composer. In your profile, put the URL of your webspace followed by /whatever.jpg -Kathy |

Yeah, isn't he cute? I got him at the Cleveland show.
RSG, have someone take a photo of you and your cat with a digital camera (or a photo place can digitize a regular photo and put it on a CD for you as a .jpg file). Then you have to shrink it to 100x100 pixels or smaller and a file size of less than 8k. I used JPEGCruncher 2.0 for that. Then you need to get free webspace from your ISP. Now from here on the only way I can tell you to do it is with the Netscape browser, because I am actually a total rookie with web stuff, this is the 1st and only thing I've done. (used to write procedural dBase code, ha ha) I would guess it's similar using Internet Explorer but don't know. -Kathy |
I love that avatar Kathy.
By the way, you don't sound like a rookie to me :D Maria |
I'll give it a go. The Smurfette doesnt really suit me
