Heartbreaking - R.I.P Meat Loaf
 

Just released by Meat's family.

Our hearts are broken to announce that the incomparable Meat Loaf passed away tonight with his wife Deborah by his side. Daughters Pearl and Amanda and close friends have been with him throughout the last 24 hours.
His amazing career spanned 6 decades that saw him sell over 100 Million albums worldwide and star in over 65 movies, including “Fight Club”, “Focus”, “Rocky Horror Picture Show” and “Wayne’s World.”
“Bat Out of Hell” remains one of the top 10 selling albums of all time.
We know how much he meant to so many of you and we truly appreciate all of the love and support as we move through this time of grief in losing such an inspiring artist and beautiful man.
We thank you for your understanding of our need for privacy at this time.
From his heart to your souls…don’t ever stop rocking!

I’m incredibly sad to read of this,

He was a great talent, has some brilliant music with a legacy that’ll live on.

My condolences to his family and friends.

Awful to read. Glad he was able to give us that one last performance a few months back that he nailed so well. The music will last forever though and so will the legend in our hearts and minds.

All we can do now is to never ever stop rocking....

Totally in shock, what the hell happened? He was alive and kicking and working on a new album. I cannot believe this. OMG, I’m devastated.

The important thing is that Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman are somewhere in a gothic castle with billowing floor length white curtains, 400,000 candles, a grand piano, lacy sleeves and infinite epics to write. At some point there will be a motorbike. Giant doors will blow open as the thunder cracks and the lightning strikes.

Such sad news and seemingly so sudden, I wonder what has happened :(
