Info about Jim Steinman
 

I was wondering about Jimmy. We know a lot about Meat, his history etcetera. But about Jimmy I only can find info of his work and what he has written, but there's little to find about his life.
For instance, is/was he married, does he have children, who were his parents, where did he grow up, that kind of stuff.

Did I miss something of this info or is it hard to find?

As far as I know Jim is asexual. There was a conversation about his orientation on The Rockman Record years ago.

I think he may have a cat as a pet... or vice versa .. ;) ... I remember from years ago his cat went missing and I think he put up a reward for its return ..

I've heard similar but do not remember whether it was from The Rockman Record ...

He's a mystery. Either because he wants it that way, or people in the interviews just didn't care enough to ask him about it or publish it.

Jim reminds me of Dumbledore from Harry Potter, where you find out all the backstory in the last book.

Edit: I once wrote a short story fan fic about how Jim became Jim Steinman haha. He had heard this record and all the walls started coming alive, all this magic stuff going on, and it changed him, like THE BIRTH OF SPIDERMAN!! And the guy at the record store who sold him the album was like the bookseller in THE NEVER ENDING STORY!!

I'm quite happy with Meat's summation of his as a 'weird dude'. That'll suffice for me :)

Definitely a wierd dude but so incredibly good at what he does ( or perhaps doesn't do so very often but when he does.... OMFG!!!!)

I think the fact that not many know a lot about Jim is because he wants it that way. He is a mystery but how incredible of a mystery is he!

As far as I can tell Jimmy is quite the political beast, seems to be on the left of the spectrum and has been quite vocal on his facebook page in his support of LGBT rights. I would be very surprised if he had children.
