Bonnie Tyler working on new album with Jim Steinman. Wonder how his involvement with Bonnie compares to his involvement with Meat Loaf album and also who got what Steinman songs... Interesting

I'd have thought fairly similar .. this too is an album which doesn't appear to be all Steinman songs

My opinion is that we now have two artists who have had their most career success with Jim. So now they are both releasing albums with Jim's songs and involvement. Wonder if this has anything to do with the BAT musical?
Definitely some shades of WHISTLE DOWN THE ROAD soundtrack album here.
What is going to be interesting is who gets which of Jim's songs? And his time?
And of course there will be comparisons in quality of the material and competition on sales of each respective artists album.
Before people jump on this and say Meat will be the better one because every album he has released is perfect in it's own way and an experience to remember, I'm more curious about the record buying public in general.
Should make it interesting too for the record companies to advertise and promote or how they promote or if one comes out before the other and tanks whether to promote at all.

'linked' to the musical, but not 'directly'.

As I thought. And again it makes perfect sense. Having both artists releasing Steinman related material and then the musical will help everyone.

The truth is a bit more rudimentary than that, but that certainly is the upshot.

Exciting news! Both artists working with Jim at the same time. ... hmm duet opportunity much?

He's never released a full album with Bonnie. I think he's only given her about 6 originals plus 2 covers.

I'm not counting his production work of course.

And now the whole thing is being retracted as a misunderstanding. Bonnie is not working with Jim at all...

Matt Davis here, Bonnie's manager. This story is, I am afraid, completely untrue. Bonine is not recording with Jim again and she never said that she was. This seems to be something that has come from a Turkish website and it is absolutely not true. Sorry.

TheDoode 04 Nov 2014 09:59

HOWEVER. Don't be surprised if you see some material, in some form, on the Bonnie album. That could change, obviously, but for now ...

renegadeangel 04 Nov 2014 12:14

Really?
After this anything Jim does with Bonnie would be very negative from PR perspective. The only saving grace is if she were on the BAT Musical soundtrack album

TheDoode 04 Nov 2014 12:21

Why would it be negative?
I'm not going to spell it out here, but think about the most basic and OBVIOUS way this is going to happen, and go from there.
Look at the language used and read between the lines of all posts above, especially the quote from Bonnie's manager.
Alternatively, send me a PM.
