I LOVE IT

Hearing this actually reminds me of the first time I heard Alive:

Up during the middle of the night one August night in 2006 listening to a dodgy radio broadcast from the States. For a moment I really felt the Bat 3 team had magically recaptured some of the Steinman qualities in a song really well. Sadly it seems to have been forgotten by many and seems a bit tarnished as well ... :-(

Video was, to me, just noise to be honest.

I certainly haven't forgotten Alive Andrew .. still just about my favourite from the album. It captures so much about Meat .. loved it played during the intermission on tour. I think a lot of people still remember and love it, but as Meat has always said he won't ever sing it live, it tends not to get mentioned so often .. but if there was one song I'd have loved to hear live it would be this one

I'm curious- has he said why not?

I know at one point he said it felt too close to home. Since then of course he's recorded HIAH which is very much his personal take on the world, and included All Of Me. But he hasn't sung that live either. Perhaps he prefers to sing songs which he can get into a character for, and wouldn't be able to do this with either of those songs.

One of his best non-Jim songs IMO. I think that ML was just trolling us with that comment. He probably smoked a big gagger.

Not by me, I like that song very much and play it a lot while I'm driving my car.
I do a very loud singing as well, erm, well... singing... kind of...

Actually, I don't get it why Meat doesn't like it. Maybe it had to do with the whole atmosphere while they were recording Bat 3. In an interview a few days ago he said something about he had been pushed a lot by then to do things he didn't want to.

I still don't get why there is some random rough cover of that song in Drive Angry at the end instead of the more polished sounding original. Weird and a weird film that is as well.
