And here I was, saying to myself "I never use that Dislike button" I don't want to ise the dislike button... I have never found a reason to use the dislike button...

... %&$%@ ARE YOU HAPPY NOW, WARIO!!! Well? Arey ya? :(

CarylB 08 Jun 2013 13:03

Do not like this song. Even Meat can't make it one I would choose to listen to.

Tina.K. 08 Jun 2013 13:18

I think Masculine is quite okay actually, but one of the worst Meat songs ever IMO from that album is "Burning down". I always skip that one, blehhh.

Evil One 08 Jun 2013 13:38

This live arrangement is worse than the other one. At least that has the Masculine, Masculine, Masculine bit at the end.

The Flying Mouse 08 Jun 2013 18:13

 I disliked your post because it didn't make me like Masculine.

I liked it already

Meat Loaf_fan 08 Jun 2013 18:41

Although I love Live at Wembley version, I also like (not love ;)) this version.

I think/want/pray that "Masculine" should be in the set list. :-)

PanicLord 08 Jun 2013 19:07

Okay so I prefer that version to the album version. But I still don't like it.

Sebastian. 08 Jun 2013 19:39

I like it.

Haters gonna hate.

Evil One 08 Jun 2013 19:53

This one is much better, but it still doesn't make me like the song

As you wish ;)

I have never liked the song Masculine, I will never like the song Masculine, no matter how many times you try.

I've got to admire your persistance though. ;)

I like Masculine but I dont like it quite as much as you Chris!

TheDoode 08 Jun 2013 23:25

Interesting question would be: why do the people (who have posted above) not like Masculine?

misterfive 09 Jun 2013 04:46

Meat should do more 80's inspired rock. Since everyone nowadays does that anyway. My God I am starting to think every band is just trying to imitate Barenaked Ladies while playing Bruce Springsteen rock.

amethyst 09 Jun 2013 13:13

Ok i'm confused, if I already like Masculine do I have to dislike the post :? or should I dislike it just because everyone else is :sherlock:

I love the guitar at the start of the song.... I love the song.

xxxx

How does a rehearsal have an audience?

Indeed. Why is this a rehearsal and not simply "live"? Is there evidence this wasn't recorded at a live show?

Btw. I don't mind the live version. I think it's ok.

Evil One 09 Jun 2013 14:26

The Bat 2 single B-sides were recorded at the rehearsals for the Bat 2 tour. There's an audience of about 10 by the sound of it.

Honestly, I find it dull - it doesn't grab me in any way. It's also a bit. .. um... aggressively 80s macho for my liking.

CarylB 09 Jun 2013 17:24

I agree. Musically it comes across as nothing very special, and the lyrics? I'm with you. They have no appeal to me .. get tough, play rough, grab her by the hair ... and that's masculine? Old fashioned macho perhaps .. manly? Not to me ;) And no love song in my eyes.

I agree with PanicLord and Caryl.

I find it to be quite dull and I'm not a fan of the lyrics either.

On Took The Words you can hear meat say "Ok.. I bet you say that to.. all the boys" and theres no sing along.

All Revved Up and Two out of three have almost no audience at all.

Heaven Can wait you can clearly hear the audience cut off abruptly.

The Flying Mouse 09 Jun 2013 21:30

 It's a song that briefly allows us men to think we're in some way in charge.

Then reality crashes in and it's back to "yes dear, no dear, of course dear"

Thanks, I always feel good when I am reminded that I am not the biggest Meat Loaf nerd out there. ;-)

However it must upset you tremendously knowing that the song was never played since the late 80s / early 90s tours and most likely never will be again going by the protests above. :-P
