Amanda Aday hoping to star in a new movie

This is related to a special relation of Meat's, his daughter ;) So I hope it's OK to post here.

Amanda is set to star in an Indie, and they are trying to raise funds by the end of August via Kickstart. You can pledge from just $1. It would be great to see this go viral and give the project a chance. Every mickle maks a muckle ;) They need to raise a final $55K.

I am reminded of a small budget movie The Full Monty, which got an Oscar nomination, even though it was pipped at the post by the multi-squillion dollar Titanic ;)

Hope they make it!

Yes ma'am! If Amanda like your status on Facebook, that's the real Amanda Aday!

She has been working very very hard on this project to raise the money. I have even supported the kickstarter project myself. I think it is going to be an amazing film. How can it not be, Amanda is an amazing actress!

Amanda Lee 06 Aug 2012 00:13

Thank You!

I can not thank all of you enough for this amazing out pouring of support you have shown me it means the world to me!

As you may or may not know, I have been cast in my first lead role in a feature film, the brilliantly written "Day After The Revolution". We plan on shooting this September over the course of 2 weeks in the beautiful mountain town of Idyllwild, CA. There is one catch; we are doing this on our own. No Studio, No Independently wealthy investors, no corporate backers. We have managed to raise some funds already, but now we have decided to launch a Kickstarter campaign in the hopes that we will not only raise the additional funds needed to make this script a reality, but also to raise public awareness about our little guerrilla project. We are shooting for a goal of $55,000, a paltry sum compared to most films.

If you aren't familiar with Kickstarter, let me fill you in. It is an
all-or-nothing crowd-sourcing fundraiser website. What that means is, if you pledge $25 today on August 31st when we make our goal of $55,000 only then will your credit card be charged. If for some reason we don't make our goal, then nothing happens, we get $0.

I understand that times are tough, and while our mantra from the beginning has been "We would rather have 55,000 people each pledge $1 then have 1 person pledge $55,000. ", I completely understand if you are unable to contribute financially. However, you don't need to pledge money to help us bring this script to screen. Do you have a twitter account? A blog? Would you be willing to post on your page? Tweet a little message for us? Write a blog post? Even that much would be a tremendous help! You may not be able to contribute, but someone you know may be inspired to.

If you have any questions, comments, ideas please write me and let me know.

Cheers and Love,
Amanda Lee

suzieq 06 Aug 2012 01:05

I'm a backer too!

LisaT 06 Aug 2012 01:23

Amanda, any idea if we will get to see this movie over here in the UK at any point?

duke knooby 06 Aug 2012 01:23

kickstarter sounds somewhat similar to the pledge music model... possibly the future of the industry

Dave 06 Aug 2012 01:24

I think kick starter is absolutely great. You don't have to wait for a studio to back up project you can just do it. So far I have back to Mink Stole and Tom Brislin Can't wait to see where this leads in the future.

Amanda Lee 06 Aug 2012 01:24

I certainly hope so Lisa!

Sebastian. 06 Aug 2012 01:46

I've just pledged, though only a small amount at the moment. Good luck!

Amanda Lee 06 Aug 2012 02:11

Thank you Snafu! Every dollar helps. My mantra through this process is we would rather have 55,000 people each pledge $1, then have 1 person pledge $55,000. This is as much about awareness of of film as it is about financing it.
