One with a twist and a bit of a spin
For those that don't know, about a year ago I started a new hobby sending weather balloons into space (well, "near space"), carrying tracking equipment and cameras. On Saturday I launched another, this time carrying a soft toy Buzz Lightyear. NASA put a plastic Buzz up into the International Space Station, but unlike me they didn't have him do a space walk :-)
Here's a pic from the flight and a video of Buzz floating at 125,500 feet, then descending to the ground (well, stuck up a tree!). http://i.imgur.com/ZSgc6.jpg

Great video, colours are amazing

"That's not flying, it's falling with style."
Great video! |
How high was the tree climb?
|
Not high - didn't get close enough but a pair of remotely controlled scissors on a pole sorted it :-)

What a great hobby. Is Buzz O.K.:??::-)
|
Amazingly, despite the violence of the descent, yes Buzz is just fine!

it never ceases to amaze me what can be achieved with some duck tape and bits of string :D
as usual the pics are amazing, look how brilliantly lit buzz was |
