Nowhere Fast: The Best Version
What is the Best version of Nowhere Fast? For me its Meat's live version. the fire Inc one is good, but Meat's alternate lyrics are better in my opinion
Fire Inc? Meat's? The Live version of Meat's? Any other version? Here are the ones i have listed in the poll: FIRE INC:
MEAT ALBUM VERSION:
MEAT LOAF - BAD ATITUDE LIVE VERSION (song cut from video release):
FARCRY:

I prefer the lyrics and vocals of Meat's version (I don't really like Rory Dodd) but the production of Fire Inc's is vastly superior.

I find myself in agreement with the one of evil.
Meat's live version took his version of the song to a higher level, if the studio arrangement had been similar to the live arrangement and witht he production values of the Fire Inc version then it could have been a stunning song. |
My issue with the Bad Attitude Live version (and the rest of the show for that matter) is that it all sounds very 80's  That and you can probably hear AndyK in the audience asking for cake. :bleh:
I have a recording of Meat doing a shorter Nowhere Fast from '85 as well. The intro is much quicker and it works quite well. |
I voted for Meat's Live version, but Fire Inc. version is also good. So why I choosed Meat? There is one explanation - voice. Meat is far superior singer than vocalist of Fire Inc. !
|
No contest. Meat.
|
Farcry does a great version. But Meat is always going to be the best.
|
Meat Live for me.
|
Voted for Meat Loaf, the album version.
|
i still love the album version... great chorus.. though it's not my favourite song on the album
|
I find myself in agreement with the one of cake.
|
Meat on the album for the voice! Prefer Fire Inc's production though.

I love them all, but for me it's not even close: Fire Inc.
The vocal arrangements on this song are off the wall!! During the outro they have three vocal harmonies going on at once. It's funny because The Fire Inc version would seem more like an arrangement that would have been good for ML. I've always suspected that Meat and his help may have rewritten or at least rearranged NF to make it fit in with the other songs on BA, but I base this on absolutely nothing. Simple speculation. But REALLY. They're two different songs. It's like comparing "Stark Raving Love" to "Holding Out For a Hero", "Original Sin" to "Gott ist Tot" or either version of "A Kiss is a Terrible Thing To Waste". Similar, but in the end different songs. BTW, I love the live arrangement of NF but I dislike that they cut out a whole verse coming out of the solo. |

No question for me: Fire, Inc. I heard it in the movie, knew it was Jim immediately and went to the music store upon leaving the theater and bought the 45 RPM single.
