Would you vote for Trump?

Hell Yeah! Even if you're not from America, would you vote for him as your leader?

Adje 25 Apr 2011 01:31

Isn't he part of that tea party? Didn't he spend lots of cash to p.i.'s to investigate if Obama was born in the U.S.? I mean... WTF? They are all nuts. No matter what politic believes you have, those tea party people are morons. So Hell NO!

meatfanforlife 25 Apr 2011 02:12

~~~~ no.
carole 25 Apr 2011 02:31
I'm an Aussie so can't vote there. I don't follow your politics over there and don't know what his policies are so can't say if I'd vote for him or not if I lived there.
Hell Yeah, if for nothing else, just for the entertainment value alone. Plus, with the state of politics in this country, I don't think that he could do any worse than Obama has or than what Bush did during his 8 years, so what they heck, give the guy a shot.
Elijah's way 25 Apr 2011 03:55
HELL NO!!!
youngJB 25 Apr 2011 03:57
I'm bleeding heart liberal, so no.
As it stands, the top 400 richest Americans have more wealth than the bottom 200 million. Trump would widen that statistic.
BostonAngel 25 Apr 2011 10:09
Can't make a decision at this point. Don't know enough about what he plans on doing and how he plans to put his plan into effect. Not sure who else he would be running against. Definitely don't want Mitt Romney though. Not thrilled with re-electing Obama either. At this point I think American politics suck!
Dave 25 Apr 2011 18:57
I have to know some important things:
1 - For which party will he be running?
2 - What are the planks and platform of the party?
3 - Who is running against him?
3 - What party are they running for?
4 - What are the planks and platform of their party?
I am far from a knee jerk party line voter. I need the facts.
Since this is in the "off topic" section, let me ask the question. Are you aware that the Tea Party Movement in America is very split? Not all Tea Party believers fall in lock step with each other.
The true Tea Party Movement in America is very much all about diversity and inclusion.
What the mainstream media represent as the Tea Party Movement and what high profile people like Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin have turned the Tea Party Movement into versus what the Tea Party Movement is really about are two totally different things.
All righty then, Then I will say that this Tea Party member (Trump) is a moron. So my answer stays :-)
I've heard the argument that because of the deficit and financial trouble the USA is in (like so many countries) Trump, who has a track record of coming back from bankruptcy would be just the man to lead the USA back to to solvency. In fact his success in business seems to be his strongest platform. I'm not so sure that he could manipulate the situation in a world context as easily and effectively as he was able to manipulate his creditors at home. Running a huge country on a world stage is very different to running a domestic corporation imo.
It's one thing for eg sending the bill for the $800,000 quarterly insurance on your personal luxury yacht to the bank holding the mortgage with a note that if it sinks uninsured, there'll be no collateral for the loan when you can't pay it back. But is that really the kind of businessman who should be running a country? A man who plays debt against his creditors? That would be a bit like sending the quarterly wage bill for USA servicemen to an ally, saying they'll lose USA support if the bill isn't paid and the army has to be disbanded. And it was just one example of one of the strategies he used to get himself out of debt. I'm not sure how effective those tactics would be with say, Germany, China or the gnomes of Zurich .. nor how well they'd play in general on a world stage ;)
Luckily it's not an ethical decision I'll have to make :-) If it were, I know how my vote would go.
If I was American then No I wouldn't vote for him. From what I've seen though Obama has been disappointing as he seems to have been more concerned with Wall Street up till now than the average working American and now having to work with the Republicans looks like it is giving him less of an edge or identity. I'm not saying this is actually the case but it's certainly how he has come across via the media here. I believe it could well cost him his re-election and America could well be stuck with Trump or Palin from 2012. Will it matter though if Wall Street is the one who is really in charge? :?
Being President is all about having a bit of luck. You could get in at the right time when the economy is running well, and everyones happy. You will be loved as President then. I think Obama got in the at the wrong time to be honest.
As regards voting in Trump (who is pretty much a celebrity) I don't think it's a route America should go down. You'll proably have Britney Spears, Eminem, and Jack Black wanting to run for President in the future. :shock:
AndyK 27 Apr 2011 19:06
I'd only vote for him if he showed me his birth certificate and a video testimonal from all sets of great grandparents verifying that he is American. ;-)
AndrewG 28 Apr 2011 09:36
Apparently he doesn't shake hands because of fears of germs. I could see meetings with international leaders being difficult. But then maybe he will kiss them instead.
LOL Trump really got roasted. ('Donald Trump recently said he has a good relationship with the blacks. Well unless the Blacks are a family of white people, I bet he's mistaken' (3:51)) But I also like the part where Seth Meyers talked about Gary Busey. ('Gary Busey said recently that Donald Trump would make a great President. Of course he said the same thing about an old rusty bird cage he found' (3:25)) :lmao:
