Brilliant version. Like it, full of passion and pain.

robgomm 05 Sep 2010 00:23

Thanks!

AndrewG 05 Sep 2010 00:24

Crazy that this hasn't appeared on a proper live cd yet.

Evil One 05 Sep 2010 00:26

Hopefully the key word there is YET. Both this and Original Sin sounded so much better live.

suzieq 05 Sep 2010 01:04

THANKS for that Wario. LOVE LOVE LOVE it.

And now I'm just imagining this song live with Justin on piano as an alternate version that could rival this version. :metal:

Evil One 05 Sep 2010 01:07

I doubt we'll ever see Meat do this live again. There's only so many ballads he can do in one show, and if he does change things up then I'd rather it be For Crying Out Loud instead.

Yes, the continual "wishing upon a star" for the most desired setlist is always up for grabs. And I would love to see For Crying Out Loud not instead....but just to see it period. It's just that when a person posts a song with this kind of quality that makes me feel I want to see that particular song live again vs. sitting at my computer visualizing it live. I love Meat's live performances it adds that 4D effect to the songs for me.

cheers though...no argument, just saying.

One of the most memorable moments of the 1996 tour.

ricgough 05 Sep 2010 03:19

Just been listening to 'lost boys' from a 1988 boot and had a similar feeling.

Brought a tear, great version of a great song and Meat was probably at his vocal peak at that point.

Mr. Happy 05 Sep 2010 06:51

Can't say I particularly like the studio version, it killed the song for me...but live, this is amazing 0.0

robgomm 06 Sep 2010 00:16

duke knooby 06 Sep 2010 00:22

i think it was berlin '96, but i might be wrong...

Sarge 06 Sep 2010 00:55

There's footage from an entire show at the Westfalenhalle in Düsseldorf but it's an audience shot of rather poor video quality.

terrible video qualit yand teh audio is on mono. i have it. You just awful.

I decided to put on teh show with the best audio and just have pulp art for each song instead of a dizzying, unwatchable, mess.

Oslo 1993, Elmira 2002, and Vienna 1988 are the only bearable complete video audience recordings I have seen

Yeah, the video quality is pretty bad but I wouldn't call it "unwatchable mess". When I transferred the footage from an old VHS tape to DVD, I managed to slightly improve it. Unfortunately the source tape was a copy of a copy of a copy... but you still get an interesting impression of what the show was like. Okay, maybe it's easier to watch for someone who actually attended one or more shows of that tour, so you can associate it with your memories. Maybe it's harder to watch for someone who didn't see Meat live at that time. Anyway, I think it's great that there's footage of that tour aside from the official, rather short TV broadcasts, even if the quality is not very good.
I like the comments of the audience during Paradise. :lawl:

like what do they say?

"Es gibt auch gute Frauen." = "There are good women, too" / "not all women are bad," for example. Obviously they felt sorry for Meat. ;)

Or English either, although you seem to have mastered a form of Welsh!
