Did anyone attend this in... 2003, was it? I know I did. I remember Meat singing Did I Say That about three inches away from me as I stood in line. And then one of the Virgin staff turned the CD player off and Meat was not amused :-P

Anyone else go to this? Feel free to share ;)

I was there Doode! And yes, it was 2003! I dragged my (then) hubby up to London with me from Southampton (he wasn't a fan!) Queued for 3-4 hours to meet our Meat. Got to him, he got distracted, didn't get to speak to him! :( As the lovely security guys were ushering me off the stage, I turned around to see ex-hubby shaking Meat's hand. "Sod that," I thought, "I'm the fan, not him!" Ran back to Meat (to the security guys' dismay!) and planted a loving kiss on his head! Was a happy bunny then! :)

Here ya go, there we more than a few of us there.....................

I remember I had a letter for Meat and I was trying to explain it to him and he kept saying "I can't hear you. Dude, I can't hear you..." and I'm there thinking okay, I'll say it again but louder. In the end we both just gave up and I shoved the letters over to Meat, and then when I said thanks he was like 'Oh, I can hear you fine NOOOOOW'.:lol:

I wasn't at the London one, but he did one over here in Sydney, back when I used to live there, so I took myself over to Waringah Mall, which was a train and a bus trip. I had never been there before so I had to figure out how the hell to get there. It was the first time I ever met Meat and I will never forget it. I told him I had been wanting to meet him for a long time, and he asked me my name and shook my hand. I was so overwhelmed. Then when I left the stage there was a reporter from one of the newspapers who asked me a few questions about how long I'd been a fan and why I liked Meat Loaf. I told him I had been a fan since I was 17 years old and his music just touches my soul, but he didn't print it, he printed some other persons. How disappointing, I thought I was going to make the paper.

I remembered the anecdotes of Lucy and Alex's mad dashes through the streets from the wrong store to the right one following the open top bus! ;-). So sorry you two, but this was all I could find as a 'review'.

Well I forgive you coz it was good reading the reviews from 2006 ... I wasn't a member here then and hadn't heard about it or seen the pics :-)

The 2003 signing was fantastic, best one I've been to. Meat was on top form and security were really good so he was able to interact with fans as he wanted rather than having security take control. When I met him I dropped my little camera onto the table so Meat picked it up and pulled me round to his side of the table to take a piccy of the two of us himself, that never would have happened at Virgin in 2006 and definitely not at HMV last month...perhaps security knew I was coming lol
