Carole try again. The site had returned back to the original for a little while tonight. I guess they are still adding stuff and taking it down to work on it....then putting up the original site/page we've had for a few months now. Keep trying, you'll see it.

hi all...just checked out the new .net - i love it! its so up-to-date! the photos are great - everything is! lol just one question tho...is this the new fan club as in we join and get access to tickets first etc or by joining the mailing list do we find out the dates first that way? sorry if im acting numb! thanks!!!

At this point m8, its a toss up. No one knows for sure so we'll have to wait n see.

if i were meat, i would have a forum but put a link to this place, at least we have some kind of modship here. Would save him all the headache that went before too

Yeah the new.net is pretty cool, but i still prefered the old.net but its still looking good. Not long now until HCTB:IV :-)

Yeh, but then some US fans might get all uppity seeing as according to some he doesn't care about the US anymore so why have the UK group be his only forum and blah blah blah its a huge headache.

I like the look of the new site - looks really slick!! :) I have to agree about what a few others have said re: a forum. It seems a bit repetitive to have a forum on .net and this forum...most of the old .net people are here already and to discuss things on both forums would be having the same conversation twice. Some might say you don't have to post on both but a lot of old .net friendships are here and we'd hate to miss out on anything happening on .net. Perhaps a link could be placed on .net to here and MLUKFC.com could drop one letter and become MLUFC.com - Meat Loaf Ultimate Fan Club. :)

;I don't see having a forum as an essential on any official site. Some performers have them, some don't. A forum needs imo a team of moderators, particularly in the case of an artist who inspires such passion from very different standpoints ;) .. and with an international fanbase in so many different time zones. The huge weakness on the old .net forum was in my view a lack of consistent, constant and timely moderation.

Having said that it doesn't seem vital imo to have a formalised link from .net to any other forum. It's not difficult to find the UK forum, and Meat comes here from choice rather than any kind of obligation because it isn't his "official" site. That makes his presence here even more special to me :-)

I think meat_loaf2008 raises an interesting point. This forum is a well established UK and European site; possibly some US fans might take offence; I don't know. We have many people from N America who do post here, so we can assume that they like coming here, but there may be others who would feel differently about a link which implied this was "the official forum". Who knows? Many erstwhile members of .net are here. Quite a few aren't, but they can't be unaware of the UK forum' s existence. Whatever their reasons for not coming here, it's their choice.

The old .net forum started out as a pleasant and fun place, where Meat seemed to enjoy posting, but neither of those lasted. This works pretty well just as it is .. a wheel that to me doesn't need fixing or attaching to another vehicle ;)
