Just read that CHSIB has gone Gold in both the UK and Germany, by selling more than 100,000 copies in each country. :!:

Also, heard that it has sold more than 400,000 copies throughout Europe.

If anyone out there can confirm these figures, please let us hear from you!!!

400,000 copies within 2 months is a lot for a big guy with a big voice who has lack of some decent promotion and distribution. :!:

Tim, the information came down from a mailing list I subscribe to. I didn't want to mention it specifically or the person posting to it, since no specific sources were named. (I don't want to get anyone in trouble.)

And that's why I brought the info here, hoping someone would be able to confirm (or deny) the news.

There is no reason to doubt this person and his/her facts. But I'd be a lot more comfortable with a more official source!

I agree entirely, Bart!! It just shows how strong and loyal Meat's fans are in the UK and the rest of Europe!!!

It also shows how successful his own promotional appearances were on TV and radio throughout Europe these past couple of months!!

(Hummmm! How about Scandinavia?? Sweden and Norway were two other countries he also visited. I wonder if their record sales are worked into this 400,000 figure??? )

Does anybody have any ideas where to find out about sales in various countries? Is there a single source to go to? Or is it necessary to go to each country for their particular data??

Let's continue to hope someone will stop by here, who has more knowledge or sources than we do and share them with us!!

The album has been released in NZ (although some stores are slow in putting it on sale), so it could make its debut on the NZ charts any time from Sunday NZ time.

The source of the information comes from IPFI, the European sales monitor. At the current time CHSIB is the 17th best selling album in Europe and it is still to be released in 9 more European countries. So things are looking very good.

Meat said something about timing the release of the album with some kind of promotion. Love to know what's happening there!!
