:kickass:

if he really knew that much he'd know that it would be spelt "a ukelele" instead of "an ukulele" as the pronounciation of u starts with a consonant (="yukelele"). :yep: :))

(I'm a smartass)

If you were as much a smartass as I am, you'd be able to spell pronunciation
;-)

(I'm a smartass)

in written English, we use 'an' before a vowel-led word, and words beginning with 'h', for example 'an hotel'.

RadioMaster 05 Aug 2009 16:58

but even in written english it's a matter of pronunciation. "an hotel" could be pronounced as "an 'otel" that's why you add the 'n'. (it's the exactly opposite case with ukulele/ukelele)

at least that's what I've learned in school.

Just remember to look after it, feed it and clean it out. We don't want find it in a plastic bag weighed down with a brick at the bottom of the canal when you've got bored with it.

Evil One 05 Aug 2009 18:55

I don't think he ever bought a copy in the end.
