.net membership
Hi all. Just wondered if anyone had any idea when .net are gonna enable ppl to join??? Ive been tryin for months now and am gettin well frustrated, especially when we can see that someones obviously updating the news page. The message bout updating the site has been up since August so surely it should be sorted by now???
Thanks, Miki |
When anything is sorted correctly at .net, pigs will fly. ;)

The difficulty is a hint to you. I believe the words of Homer J Simpson are appropriate here:
If something's hard to do, then it's not worth doing." Dave  |
Thanks for replyin. I read somewhere that Meat was touring again in 2010 so was hoping to join .net again and go for a meet n greet nxt time. Does anyone know if the meet n greets you can buy through ticketmaster etc are the same as the ones you can get through the fan club?? Dont want one which includes the meal and drinks etc!
Thanks for any help! |
dont worry, .net only has a handful of members left. It'd be commercial suicide to make the m&g packages fan club exclusive. So either you can buy them from ticketmaster or you'll get the oportunity to rejoin early enough ;)
It's them who want to sell something |

in general yes. but if there's only 10 members left, who get offered these m&g's, they can hardly make a fortune out of it, can they?
And judging from what weve seen at the CDC tour, where the packages were available openly as well (they were, right? not entirely sure), why would they go for the exclusive version now that they even got less members than before? |
Where do you get only 10 from? If Meat offered M&G's exclusive to .net members then the amount of new members or members re-joining .net would increase dramatically, of that I'm sure.
Besides, why wouldn't Meat reward those that are most loyal even if they are nucking futs? :retard: |

Until something is sorted and .net is back up and running with people being able to join making M&Gs exclusive would essentially be offering an exclusive deal to nobody. All things considered tho I dont think I will be rushing to renew my membership when I can for too long its been nothing but arguing on there that is not good for either the true fans or Meat |
dont think there's a rush on Meat's part to relaunch the site. He get's more than enough publicity out of the twitter thing, with a lot less effort to put in. As long as he doesnt rely on selling something (again), there's no need to renew .net. (besides the shame in what state his 'official site' is atm)

.net is the top hit on a google search ...
These figures aren't 100% accurate, but they'll give you an idea. Something like 95% of all people who search via google click on the first link provided in the search results. Of the 95% who click on the first link something like 80% don't return to the search results to investigate any of the other pages offered, that is, they give up after looking at the first result they find. 80%+ of internet users will click away from a site within 30 seconds if it doesn't hold their interest. So, unless a website offers something that is going to hold the average internet users interest, then the vast majority of the average users will click away very quickly. Those of us who inhabit the "Meat" related regions of the net know what's going on, but we're the minority really. The majority will fall into those categories above ... |
but the question is, if he actually cares at the moment how many people are googl'ing him or visit .net. There's no album to promote and no tour tickets to sell. I can imagine this becoming much more intersting for him/his management when the release date of the new album comes closer...
|
As his twitter profiel grows (nearly 1000 followers in a week), then the number of people who would search for other info, or click on the .net link for additional info will also grow ... makes sense to me to have had .net up and running to accept new members at the same time.
|
Running, yes, but not with paid membership yet. In exchange for my money I expect access to tickets, M&Gs or whatever, none of which are gonna be available for a while yet because Meat's not around, so it's unfair really to ask people to pay a membership fee for nothing but news updates which they can get free on Twitter and Facebook

That must use at least 30p in lecky. And then there's the cost of the lightbulb itself  Quote:
Are you out of your freaking mind? :wtf: Is putting less effort than into .net even POSSIBLE? Quote:

I think this site should become Meat's official site, it's run alot better than .net.

Meat has said he is getting new company to run his fanclub .. that was a while ago, and it's been some time since there's been any news. However, I agree with those who see Twitter as an easy and swift way for Meat to generate and keep interest while he is in the studio; and having attracted a considerable number of "followers" it would provide an excellent launch pad for a new club and site, which would have more attraction when the album is about to come out and a tour in the offing. Twitter is a great communication medium .. but it's just that, and doesn't offer the wider range of information, ticketing, merchandising etc which a good fanclub could and should offer. I'm a great fan of Eddie Izzard, and he uses Twitter regularly to keep in touch, but maintains a main website through which ticketing etc is managed. Caryl |
Personally if there's a new fan club I'd like to see existing members getting a reduction in first year membership, as far as I'm concerned I got sod all for my last years fees (my membership expired two weeks ago) because of the alleged change to a new company.

Although MLUKFC would deserve to become an official site: It's the only place where people constantly could find the newest infos about Meat Loaf, and that for the last ten years. (alright, enough sucking up :))) |
