It really looks like an interesting story :))

Gotta love the sarcasm ;)

The plot lost me at 'embarks on an epic journey' when the killer is her boyfriend...WTF? :wtf: I think I'll give it a miss.

Pud

Sarge 24 Apr 2009 07:44

I just read the plot summary. :lmao: Doesn't appear very promising to me. Well, I endured The Pleasure Drivers, Spice World and that horrible Uwe Boll flick, I'm hardened when it comes to Meat Loaf's filmography. ;)

RSG 24 Apr 2009 08:39

Sounds alot like a snooze, and almost a cheap novel turned into a movie to me. We'll see, if anything turnsaround I will gladly give it a watch. I don't think anything can compare to Fight Club and Masters Of Horror!

what? yoü think this is weirder than 'Burning Bright', with the girl and her autistic brother trapped in a building with a raging tiger?

Gotta say, the plot sounds kind of strange, but that's a fact for a lot of ML movies...we'll see what it's gonna be..

allrevvedup 24 Apr 2009 12:12

it'll probably show up on Movies 24 or one of the many channels on sky that show tv movies

wolfy35 24 Apr 2009 12:20

Sounds like one thats heading straight for the discount DVD bucket to me.

mszee 24 Apr 2009 15:59

Well, it's only rumored that ML is in this movie...

Although it claims to be based on a true story, I would still prefer NOT to know who the real murderer is BEFORE movie even comes out...

According to this online blog, it's not just a rumor.;) And, yes, it is based on a true story.

Just checked the link Vicki and it sounds like a terrific story to me. I love crime thrillers anyway..Prime Suspect, Cracker, (Morse and Lewis..not sure if they are thrillers precisely) and the Ripley films and novels just to name a few. This sounds like a really gripping film.

technically that's still a rumor though. We've got a source (Wendy Shepherd), but as long as there isnt any official confirmation by a studio or similar, it's still a rumor.

 Based on a true story.
Might well be worth a watch.

I always seem to find Meat's movies end up as straight to DVD affairs lately, he does quite a few independant films which are usually non-cinema releases (not always, but usually). Would like to see him do more Fight Club material, just all depends who asks him, to do so

Pudding 29 Apr 2009 23:09

If Meat Loaf did more roles like he did on House then perhaps he'd get recognised more as a decent actor and be offered bigger roles in big budget movies. Lets be honest, his biggest role was playing a man with tits, it's hardly going to get Spielberg knocking on his door.

spielberg is overrated anyway, I'd much rather like to see him do a movie with Tarantino. I think his twisted humour and slightly over the top acting would do well in a QT movie.

That's right, because most of his movies are flops and do shit at the box office

Spielberg overated :??:, I think Tarantino is more overated, the only decent flick I enjoyed from him, was From Dusk Till Dawn. Spielberg, especially in his early days brought some classic movies.

I agree, but I am sure I have read that Meat selects his roles carefully, I just don't think he reads the scripts too well, because alot of them are poor scripts, stories, production. Meat is a good actor, and should be doing bigger and better stuff IMHO, but I do suppose directors/producers, will go off previous work Meat has been in, and it does not bode well.

If he does, then I can only presume that the roles he turns down once he's read the scripts are complete dogs, because apart from a few very notable exceptions the majority of the roles he's had, have been in films that are in the "straight to dvd and forgotten about" category.

Spielberg is very good at special FX. Back in the nineties that's what made a good film. Jurassic Park is one of my favourite movies, and the special FX make a big part of that. Today the situation is different. SFX are not that important anymore. Every mediocre movie has acceptable effects, so you cant make an impression with effects, the way you did ten or 15 years ago. Today different things are important, and, IMHO, Spielberg is not really great at them.

And Tarantino is very good at doing "homages". ;) The only reason why I watch his flicks are the numerous references to movie history.

Can you name a few? What's important today? Bloody, gory stuff a lá Tarantino? Have you ever seen some of Spielbergs early work? Duel, for example?

So are you saying they don't use Special FX anymore? I think you could look at the top grossing films of 00's and Spielbergs name would be attached to a good number of them, Tarantino's wwould be attached to not very many because he's shit. Tarantino only has ine idea of making a film, over the top violence, he's one dimensional.
