Well, with the plane being landed in the river...it came out that most airplanes for most airlines are actually equipped with no inflatable whatevers at all...because the rule is...once you're going into the water...you won't really need them...so...look under your seat by all means...but won't be greatly surprised if you only find your purse or briefcase there...

I think you'll find it's most airplanes for most airlines serving internal destinations in the US, where the plane rarely crosses any water anyway so they're not needed.

I'm with Lucy on this one... I'm not a keen flyer anyway, even though I find it the easier transport going from place to place if a long way from where I reside.
