MUM'S RULES

A few words of advice for all those young mums on the forum - this stood me in good stead:-

"MUMS RULES"

IF I COOK IT - YOU WILL EAT IT
IF I MEND IT - YOU WILL WEAR IT
IF I BUY IT - YOU WILL LIKE IT
IF I SAY NO - YOU DON'T ARGUE
IF I SAY GET OFF THE PHONE - YOU HANG UP
IF I SAY DO IT - YOU DO IT
IF I SAY BEDTIME - YOU SAY GOODNIGHT
IF YOU ASK WHY - IT'S BECAUSE I'M YOUR MUM

OK Dottie- now how do I get my 6 year old son to actually follow these rules? I guess the secret would have been to enforce them since birth, eh? Six is hard enough, how I dread the teenage years!

RULES FOR KIDS WITH NAGGING MUMS

If mum says something - Figure out what the hell she's talkin' bout then do the exact opposite.

Thats it...
Simple
See mum's need all those rules, kids just need the one!!

Mums are a strange breed no matter how old you get.

If my mum used to ask if I'd put my washing on or cleaned the bathroom or something I always used to answer what she wanted to hear even if I hadn't done it. Out of the kindness of her heart she tended to believe me which gave me a few mins grace to go do whatever it was I was supposed to have done.
Of course that only works if you actually do like you're told to....other wise you get an arse whipping for A) not doing and B)Lying about it.

It's taken me till I'm 21 to figure out a batter alternative.
Mum: Have you cleaned that bath round?
Me: No
Mum: will you do it then please
Me: probably not but I'll consider it

She thinks that means I will actually do it
When I don't do it I can say I never said I'd do and and I can't get a whiping for lying bout it either

Yes I am bored and yes I am trying to avoid homework

Oh and before any smart arse suggests actually doing as I'm told....it's boring and too easy!

Yes, enjoy it, Tim. Because within the next few years, you will have found your 'Pearl' or 'Sarah' and before you know it your 'litlle Timmies' will drive you absolutely CRAZY at times.

So, please be sure to really appriciate this period in your life!!!

Hows this for mothers acting strangely:

Mother asks if I'm going out tomorrow as she needs some compost. I said that I am going out but I will buy some on the way home. She now wants me out of the house as I do nothing for her. She should get her own sodding compost.
