today
Just want to post this. Don't know if it is in other countries also... but here we had just a 2 minute silence.
Those 2 minutes are to think of WWII and all the dead people. I see it as a moment to think of all people who are killed in all wares that we humans have had. I see it as a moment to think of all people who haven't got the things that we have got, and live in poor and not human circumstances. I see it as a moment to think of all people who are dead, and which i have know, and were part of my life. I see it as a moment to think of this world, and what it is and what it will become. We don't have anything like that over here. Wish we did. Maybe it would remind SOME people exactly what war is really all about!!!!
Your words touched my heart deeply this morning!! Beautifully said, Tim! Thank you!! Love, MB xxx |
Oh, very well said, Tim.
In my village there's a war monument where people go on the 4th of may at 20.00. You can bring flowers there and there's someone with a trompet, to play the last post. Every year very moving. |
 well said Tim.
We in the UK have our rememberance day in November every year. Every year I go to the senetaph in the city centre for the service. After the service there is a parade in which the WWII veterans take part in.I'm sad to say that the parade seems to get shorter every year  . After the parade I go to the Merchant navy memorial at the Pier Head where I lay my poppy and spends a couple of minutes in thought. |
Thank you, Tim.
You are a beautiful soul! (a beautiful 'butcher'!) Great day to you, Mariella |
