The Greatest Performance of Paradise You've Ever Seen?

What do you think was Meat's finest performance of Paradise - be it on TV, shows, DVD, or VHS. I only went to one show and the paradise i saw there wasn't the greatest at Tower theater, but the best IMO is the one preformed on the Night of Proms 2001 TV broadcast.

i personally am tired of the song, but it's been in every set since 1977 so it's efficiently his most performed.

The best version I've seen was on a Dutch TV show in '98/'99 or so. It is said that Paradise is the only 'pop' song Harry Mulisch can appreciate, so when he was on this show (which focuses in depth on a person), Meat Loaf was apparently hired to sing the song. Live. They did the single edit in less then five minutes. Therefore, greatest version ever.

the version from the history of meat loaf live

An edited version is also on Bat Out of hell II: Picture show

id go for one of the earlier shows...77/78
Was all fresh and new then, and I like the "I'm taking the TV....",etc bit with Ms DeVito

Zurich 1994, maybe because it was the first time I saw it. My sister and I looked at eachother and we went 'They're kissing with tongues!':shock:

Wembley 1999 for me, as it was my first live show... And it was great!

In terms of the stage show I'd choose the Born To Rock tour where Meat had the car and Patti appeared in the dominatrix outfit and ended up throwing plates (though that was my first show so could be a little swayed by that)

It most definitely was not the last Paradise I saw.

Tough one. I've always liked the pre-Bat 2 tour with the bitch, dick, bitch, dick ending.

Overall though I'll go with Bat 2 tour.

Have to agree with Lucy, on the born to rock tour in 96 it was like 40 minutes and I loved the way they did the "So now am praying for the end of time..." bit twice. Worked quite well.

Other than I would have to say the MTV show in 1993 (same as on the bat 2 picture show but longer) as I thought Patti looked extremely sexy with that blonde wig and dress. Think Meat went a bit far with the make out scene at that point. No wonder ;-)
