Amid The Chaos
Ok here goes some pics from last night.
Far as I know, to answer Andy's question, there wasn't any audio taken last night but i'll try and find out if anyone else that was with us recorded stuff and i'll post it. The First one is before the show...i'm looking all wide eyed and innocent but that's what a shave the night before will do for you... I know it will be difficult Ladies but control yourself! http://media.mlxxfc.net/DSCF0002.JPG The next one is the actual performance, just me on the right and one Michael McKenna, who plays guitar and comes up with the riffs for these songs. I write the lyrics. http://media.mlxxfc.net/DSCF0004.JPG The final one is just a shot of me...probably too close to the mic but then again I've never used monitors before so that will have to be worked in. If it looks like i was closing my eyes i was but not many times. While singing i was trying to see did we have everyone's attention. http://media.mlxxfc.net/DSCF0005.JPG The three songs we played last night were: Enviously Blind Time to let go World on my shoulders. We originally thought the best one we had was the second one and that the third was our weakest but the general reaction seemed to be that the third one was the best...who knew! |
Maybe we can tape something somehow when you're here?
|
For those as privileged as I am to actually hear Mike sing live...he does blow you away....
|
Looks like it was a good night
|
Just an update
We're playing an open mic again tonight in the same place with one new song called 'Please don't dance'
It's my aim to try and get someone to record it, so hopefully i'll be able to post some sound. |

Do I need to explain "Break the Leg" comment?
|
no lol
|
Yeah but Zina you're from the state of Tony Soprano...so that comment could've been taken many ways

It's a superstition among the performers... NEVER say Good Luck...say...Break a leg! If you tell performer in the States Good Luck...they actually will be MIGHTY upset with you... |

Thinking of you hon, hope it's going well..

Well, it looks like Mike got two fans...:lmao:
|
It did go well...even though i'm in the same clothes as last night (unfortunately not for the reason i'd like it to be:twisted:)
We only got a chance to do 3 songs, so we had to dump one in favour of the new one 'Please Don't dance', which is about falling in love with a lap dancer...don't ask why the lyrics are about that I've never fallen for a girl like that! We recorded some audio last night, but i haven't heard it yet and won't til i go back home. So I will try and post it later today. |
Ok hopefully this works
Here's two of the three songs we did last night. The first is the newest one we've come up with and is called Please don't dance. Bear in mind it's just me and Mick who plays the guitar and the audio is taken off a digital camera. Please Don't Dance http://rapidshare.com/files/54038528...on_t_Dance.WAV The second one is called World on my shoulders..I wrote the lyrics to this nearly 5 years ago but the only thing that's really changed is the chorus. World on My Shoulders http://rapidshare.com/files/54040018..._Shoulders.WAV If you have any problem downloading them and want to hear the songs, just pm me and i can email them to you. Enjoy |
Hey, Mike...listened to the files you've sent me in the e-mail...
Bravo, Maestro!!! Keep up the good work! |
Amid the chaos...once more
Ok, well we played again last night at the Legal Eagle, another open mic and this time a chance to showcase three new songs.
The first one was written by a friend of mine called Ger Ryan and is called Leave the Light On. I've been bugging him for ages, as we used to be in a band together, to let me have this song and he finally relented although i had to base it off an old tape I had of a jamming session. Not easy but it seemed to work despite on working on it on wednesday! The second one is called Observation. It's got a great riff which Mick came up with and I had written the lyrics coming back on the bus one night, so a lot of the stories are true...especially the two girls fighting in a station door, that really did happen at Heuston Station. The third one is called Slipping away, a nicer fast paced one. Agin the riff was written by Mick and the lyrics were easy enough to come up with when there's a riff like that. Sorry that it's a big file, couldn't record it any other way. If there's anyone that has trouble downloading it just pm me and i'll mail you the file. http://rapidshare.com/files/58898110/Amid_The_Chaos.WAV |
As some of you have seen, the demo is up and running on myspace
