Maybe I don't get the point of this list, but „Not a Dry Eye in the House“ & „Amnesty is Granted“ were performed live?!

Evil One 04 Nov 2010 19:00

This list is bollocks.

It's going to be on the forthcoming Wembley '82 DVD as you have pointed out yourself.

Weren't those bands over and done with in late 1969, 4 years before "Closing Time", the Tom Waits album "Martha" appears on, was released?

Quote:

Because of You – Yes
You sure? When?

Evil One 04 Nov 2010 19:07

When exactly did Meat ever sing Seize The Night?
Why have you not listed the Storytellers GGGTH performances.
I'm pretty sure Surf's Up was done twice on the Storytellers tour.
When did he ever do Everything Is Permitted?
Just because your dad only heard a song at one concert doesn't mean Meat didn't do it at another.

2007, Bremen, Germany. Or I'm getting old and senile…

Edit: It wasn't Meat singing, it was just the band… or am I wrong?

A Slice Of English 04 Nov 2010 19:17

Yikes, this thread is a mess already.

You are not wrong. The band sang it at most, if not all of the 3 Bats shows. Meat didn't though.

duke knooby 04 Nov 2010 19:21

did mr loaf do read em and weep on european leg 2 of the 3 bats tour?

What about the AIDS Day Benefit?

allrevvedup 04 Nov 2010 19:56

The Beacon Theatre show, live in the neighbourhood or whatever it was called, had both Amnesty and Not A Dry Eye in the house

Wario...very disappointed

Wario 04 Nov 2010 20:20

Dry eye and amnesty were mistakes. I pasted the wrong thing there.

i didnt even think about stand by me with boy George.

And I forgot about the RAW wembley '82 release

shoot me now. 4/200 songs aint bad

and they did promote the S&M. Meat even said when they performed, Stoney would sing while he did the theatrics. In the book he even says the band didnt think he was too hot at singing.

Monstro 04 Nov 2010 20:30

May I ask when Meat performed Seize The Night?

Evil One 04 Nov 2010 20:36

He didn't. The band did.

Monstro 04 Nov 2010 20:37

And only a small part of it

LucyK! 04 Nov 2010 21:15

I literally could not wait to read the responses to this thread, even before I'd finished the first post!

Monstro 04 Nov 2010 21:56

I think the thread could be great, just needs all the info gathered to be put on original post

Wario 04 Nov 2010 22:14

I mean, I only flubbed four things. only major mistake was dry eye and amnesty...

Evil One 04 Nov 2010 22:25

Where Angels Sing was done on the Storytellers tour.

In my mind, that doesn't count if Meat didn't sing it, and it wasn't the whole song.

Carole

Kev 06 Nov 2010 12:44

Hmmm, some more too that were not done live (or aren't actually live on the CDs) and sound checks. Good Girls from Live Around The World, Most of the Storytellers CD and the CHSIB bonus live tracks from the album?

Evil One 06 Nov 2010 12:50

Good Girls Go To Heaven was done live a couple of times on the Storytellers tour. Most of the Storytellers CD was taken from the Hard Rock show so was still technically live. The CHSIB CD was taken from one of the US shows of the CHSIB tour.

A far more worthy thread would be an accurate set list of Meat Loaf shows.

Wario's gonna be pissed when he sees you've beaten him to this!

Racking my brains (which admittedly won't take long) but I don't remember the set for the Last World Tour (which was the tour for CHSIB) opening with Lost Boys and Golden Girls on the first leg?! I remember the second leg opening with Meat on the stretcher and then the first song was Do It! but I can't for the life of me remember LBAGG

I think by first leg Evil One is talking about the earlier European shows rather than the two sets of UK shows either side of Christmas.

Wario 07 Nov 2010 01:00

Im very pissed.

But good work Evil One.

A few things: According to Emma she has a copy of DIMP from 1978 with karla and meat. cant confirm it until she shares :))

I wouldnt reallymake a trhead of that until the hang cool tour is compelte

I took Dave's post to mean a list of the dates Meat has played, not the set lists of all the shows he's played.

The set lists of cancelled shows would be very hard to prove as there were no witnesses :bleh:

In know Meat has never varied a lot in the songs he's performed in a tour, but there have been some exceptions like FCOL and IGLHFBOU, so you can't have a definitive list of songs that have been sung by quoting the set list from one show or the tour program.

Ahh, I was assuming that "first leg" was the run in November/December before Meat took ill, and "second" leg was January when he did the postponed shows.

So did Meat open with LBAGG in Europe for that tour then? Still don't remember seeing it here, on either leg of the tour

I think it was the very first show of the tour. Or was it a promo show they did in Amsterdam? Now I'm confused too.
