Sadly I think there's not much to talk about in the Meat Loaf world ATM.

Cue the announcement of the archive releases from ML himself hopefully....

Unfortunately I don’t see there being a great deal in the pipe line.. happy to be proved wrong though!

I come along every now and then to see what/if anything has been posted but like others have said, there just doesn't seem to be anything happening and it kinda seems doubtful it will. I remember a few years ago there was some word about a proper anniversary edition of BOOH being released and I don't think that came to anything, I think there was some word about some new songs being or potentially being recorded and I dunno if that came to anything or if that's still on going, and I can't really see there being any sort of archive stuff being released either.

Shame but... I guess in my case at least there is plenty of other music out there.

Agreed, there has been bits of info from original BOOH demos to stoney and meat releases and new songs if I remember correctly..
I really hope I’m wrong.. and some new material turns up!

I check in from time to time but I honestly thing we are on the tail end of things as I don’t see recording or touring being likely at his point. Touring with Covid and variants coming and going may prove to not be a very fruitful endeavor. My hope is for maybe a few new songs here and there or perhaps some releases from soundboard collections over the years.

I hope we get What Part of My Body Hurts the Most from Meat, produced by a genius in tribute to Jim. But I think that's where the Meat Loaf journey ends and the legacy begins!

I'd love to see some soundboard releases. I don't know if it's something Meat has the resources for. I'd assume he definitely has a vault with all sorts of stuff in there but it'd be good to see him do something like what Marillion or Dream Theater have done and have some sort of official bootleg releases or smaller scale releases. Maybe a soundboard from each major tour and a B-Sides collection?

I do seem to remember a few years ago there were plans to release soundboards for the CHSIB tour but that seemed to come to nothing as well? Shame because I'd absolutely love a soundboard of the Newcastle concert from that time as it was my first Meat Loaf concert.

Of course I imagine the legalities of such things are a lot more complex than I give them credit for.

If Meat really wanted old live stuff released it would have happened by now

I remember Meat only ever mentioning the CHSIB live stuff during the tour whilst defending his voice due to criticisms especially during the latter part of that tour. Once the tour was done and he had done the MSO commentary he never mentioned anything about that tour again from what I remember.

He just moves on usually even if he had other plans, stuff happens, ideas change, priorities change.

People shouldn't constantly be hanging off the edge of every word that he says.

Steinman wanted to do a climaxes album at one point after Bat 3 got messed up.

Personally I think it's a shame Meat never worked properly with Rob Cavallo again.
I didn't like the Teddy Bear songs (except for Prize Fight Lover) but the production and Meat's voice were probably the best I had heard since Bat 2.
F*cking stellar.
