Meat's not mentioned on the official website for the event but they've only got 7 artists on there so I'm not sure that that means a great deal just now...

Tickets are sold out but apparently more go on sale after Easter...

Sorry, it's the first 7 confirmed artists they have on the site so presumably that list will gradually extend itself

Having got everyones hopes up somewhat with this, need to remind everyone that there is nothing official at this stage other than the one article on the Daily Record.

Having looked into it a little more and thought about it, the official concert website states that each artist will likely perform between one and three songs each. So over a 4 hour concert that doesn't leave a lot of time for changing the stage set up, I'd imagine therefore that this would be an appearance by Meat and Aspen only, with little or no other involvement from other members of the NLE. (My bet for the "set list" would be Dead Ringer, Paradise and AFL or IACBTMN)

might be a good opportunity to promote COM, or the 3rd single.

This show is on July 1st so if he plays it'll be almost two months after COM...as Andy said it would certainly make a lot more sense of the "random" Bristol show

Joss Stone and Take That are among an array of stars who will join the line-up of the concert marking the 10th anniversary of Princess Diana's death.

They will be joining the likes of Sir Elton John and Bryan Ferry at the Concert for Diana, to be held at the new Wembley Stadium on 1 July - which would have been her 46th birthday.

Princes William and Harry - who are overseeing the event - were reported to have chosen Take That after hearing how much they thought of the late Princess.

The band's Mark Owen said: "Princess Diana was such an amazing woman. I think it's lovely the princes want to do something to remember her."

Other acts who are reported to have been signed up include Rod Stewart - an old favourite of Diana's - James Blunt and Keane.

They will also be joined by performers including Bryan Adams, Kanye West, Orson, Meatloaf and James Morrison.

A concert insider said: "The princes have selected acts they knew their mother loved in her lifetime and some newer ones they felt she'd have appreciated.

"It's a fantastic bill and a testament to their powers of persuasion that so many stars have agreed to take part. It's likely to be as big a deal as Live 8 two years ago."

To mark her love of dance and musicals, there will be an appearance by the English National Ballet, while Andrew Lloyd Webber will present a medley of songs from his shows.

A memorial service will be held on the actual anniversary of her death, August 31, but the princes said they wanted to hold the concert because the service alone was not enough.

"The main purpose is to celebrate and to remember her in a fun way," said 24-year-old William. "We wanted to have this big concert full of energy, full of the sort of fun and happiness which I know she would have wanted.

"It's got to be the best birthday present she ever had."

Sir Elton John, who sang a reworked version of Candle In The Wind at her funeral in 1997, is said to be considering singing it again for the first time in 10 years.

There are also reports that the organisers are trying to persuade one of Diana's favourite bands, Dire Straits, to reunite for the show. Robbie Williams has been invited and Simon Le Bon is said to have offered to duet with Justin Timberlake.

Performers will waive fees for the event and money raised will go to the Diana Memorial Fund as well as Sentebale, the charity Harry set up in her memory, and homelessness charity Centrepoint, of which William is patron.

Tickets for the event sold out within 20 minutes in December, with many being resold for up to five times their £45 face value.

As well as the 60,000 audience at Wembley, millions more will watch it when it is broadcast on BBC1.

Guests will include the Queen, Prince Charles and Camilla, as well as Diana's siblings Lady Sarah McCorquodale, Lady Jane Fellowes and Earl Spencer.

I personally hope he does Two Out Of Three Aint Bad , for he hasn't sung that on tv for years or better still Took The Words also is a possibility.

It won't be an issue of what he should or shouldn't perform, it'll come down to what he can and cannot perform.

As Andy said, with the artists only doing a couple of songs each over 4 hours there isn't time for artists to bring their own bands with their own set ups, so Meat will have to perform the easiest tracks in terms of working with another band, which is why it's likely to be Dead Ringer For Love as he did at the Royal Variety Performance.

oh great - thank god I don't go away on the 1 July - this years its the 6 July due to school

For once I like school veeeeeerrrry much :-) Now we can see Meat Live once again and hopefully full of enery like William said :-)

Sounds like it's going to be a cracking show. I think 2 out of 3 would be ideal for this kind of show. It would be great if he could get the band to play to give him more options with song choice.

I wonder if he'd do Johnny B. Goode or Gimme Shelter. No doubt the concert band knows those.

that concert seems to be really important. There was even an article (mentioning Meat) in our local ass-of-the-world-town newspaper.

He will do what the general public know of his and what the band can play but it will be his own songs safe to say i think

Well Diana was loved aound the world universally so it will be a big thing i think, especially since it seems to have William and Harry's support.

Just a seperate thought. The Kaiser Chiefs have had a pop at some of the 'new' bands performing there saying it's just publicity and they will not perform as they never met her, as they believe only artists who she liked and met.

Although this could be considered as a publicity stunt in itself i have to say i kinda agree.

When you look at some of the fantastic artist's that are going to preform, how come take that are topping the bill?

Well I sincerely doubt there's much chance of Elton doing Candle in the Wind 97 again, given what the concert is supposed to be about.

I'm slightly dismayed that Genesis have not been mentioned at all, beginning to look like they won't be there at all. And Phil was so damned good at the Party at the Palace too...

But even if Meat pulls out al stops, all in all this looks like it won't be a patch on the Party at the Palace. ;)

He really liked her, said she liked talking to someone who wasn't involved in the bullshit that she was there for. He was a security guard at the opening of the Barbican Centre in London, he met and talked to the King of Spain as well, must've been one hell of a boring night if the security guard was worth talking to lol

When I was a baby, I was very ill with a heart problem. I was in Great Ormond Street and Diana visited the hospital. She talked to my mum for quite a while, said I was a cutie and kissed me on the cheek. That act of kindness and caring meant everything to my mum in a difficult time, and she was devastated when she died. I was choked as well.

Thank you for your memory of Diana its nice to hear something positive about her again. Great Ormond Street is an amazing hospital but I hope youre ok now!!

Damn right its an amazing hospital. I could spend an entirety on here telling u what it did for my kid brother, but lets just say they performed operations on him that they'd never done before. The time I've spent in there over the years will never leave me, because seeing children that ill never does leave you. Diana was the perfect person to represent that place, it really does perform miracles. I hope Meat does her justice.

I went there once when i was 3 i'd stuck a bit of foam rubber up my nose and had to have it removed It wasn't major but 37 years later my mum still talks about brilliant they were at getting it back down!!!

UPDATE - Even though we know he will be there. Still the Princess Dianna Concert Site (see posts above for url); has no mention of him yet - but have annnounced more artists though!

I can't see Meat being happy to introduce acts and not get to sing himself.

In regards tickets, a further 10,000 tickets went on sale at 9am last Friday morning, and were sold out by 9.20
