Bat Out Of Hell II Re-issued
Coming out on November 27th is the two disk version of Bat Out Of Hell 2 :)
|
What's on the second disk? Anyone know?
|
If I remember correctly it's a collection of various edits of the singles that were released e.g. Radio Edit of Anything For Love (ie shorter version) etc.
|
Unless you are a collector or don't have a normal version of the CD already - then I wouldn't bother with this personally... :P
|
I want this!
LOL |
or like me, you've worn out your original bat 2, (its been 13 years afterall)
|
I need to get that. :)

(Above set is available for pre order via Play.com also for Ģ15.99 Delivered in the UK!) :D |
Who's willing to bet that disc 2 will be the BOOH:Live with the MSO disc with a 1993 Anything for Love slapped on?
|
Wow, I might actually get this then. Good grief. A semi-decent re-issue... what's the world coming too these days???

So which is better the Bat 2 dvd or Bat 2 vhs with interviews, videos, and live performances?
|
Quote:
Anything you want actually matey. Univeral own the MOS recordings, Virgin/EMI own the Bat 2 era recordings. So that won't happen :P This is sounding fooking amazing! :D |
Quote:
|
any information about the included interview (length, etc.)

Quote:
Yes it's sounding seriously fantastic, and that's great news right there. :D It wasn't that long ago I bought the "deluxe edition" of bat 2, but I was seriously disappointed with it, so this is timely. :-) |
Quote:
But does anyone knows this.... couple of years back i saw the Bat 2 album, but is has a black and white cover and it contains all the songs, but live. It was also a live album as far as i can remember. Is this the same album... ?? And does anyone knows more about it? But lookin gforward to this one too!!! |
Quote:
Not sure if you misread there, I meant it WON'T be the MOS recordings and IS the LATW live recordings. EMI/Virgin own the Bat 2 recordings, LATW recordings and the video rights. I meant that the package sounds fantastic :) |

I think the live recordings could be from the Bat 2 era, or maybe the WTTN era, possibly the one's from Live Around the World. They won't be from MSO recordings, as icwuke said earlier, these are owned by Universal, not Virgin, so they can't include them, unless alot of money has exchanged hands. But my bet is the Bat 2 era, Everything Louder Tour, as some songs live from this era were used as B-sides, for Bat 2 singles, if I ain't mistaken. :D
|

|
I wonder if Meat understands the whole stuff himself..... |
They did, EMI/Virgin own the LATW tracks.
See 'Heaven Can Wait - The Best Of Meat Loaf' - Thats the EMI/Virgin 'best of'. Its the LATW tracks on the second disk :) |
Or alternatively, you could say it's the WTTN B-sides.
Anyway, if the second disc is made up of previously released material, it would be a missed opportunity. |

Quote:
Oh I didn't misread anything. The LATW recordings is exactly what I wanted, I've never owned that album. ;) That and I hate when releases mix and match material from different eras when they really shouldn't. but one more thing: MOS? You mean MSO, right? |
Quote:
I was wondering whereīs the connection to Man of Steel....lol |
Quote:
Hehe... yeah. What was it meat said? MSO sounds like a sexually transmitted disease or something? :-) For anyone reading who is not too sure, it means Melbourne Symphony Orchestra of course. ;) |
Quote:
*hangs head in shame* :( |
Quote:
If anybody is still wondering take a look here:)) |
Hmmmm.... this sounds tempting, especially for the DVD, however I only recently recieved LATW last week, so the live tracks on this edition won't be special to me, nor the album itself which I already have...hmmm decisions lol.

Bat Out Of Hell II: Back Into Hell [2cd + Bonus Dvd]
Found This on CDWOW.IE but am confused by the second cd...anyone know about this?
Disc 1 I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That) Life Is A Lemon And I Want My Money Back Rock And Roll Dreams Come Through It Just Won't Quit Out Of The Frying Pan (And Into The Fire) Objects In The Rear View Mirror May Appear Closer Than They Are Wasted Youth Everything Louder Than Everything Else Good Girls Go To Heaven (Bad Girls Go Everywhere) Back Into Hell Lost Boys And Golden Girls Disc 2 Bat Out Of Hell You Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth Heaven Can Wait All Revved Up Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad Paradise By The Dashboard Light For Crying Out Loud I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That) Disc 3 (Bonus DVD) |
Think the dvd contains the vids from the Bat2 picture show
|
ok that'd be disc 3 but what about disc 2?
|
if itīs the same as was discussed here earlier, then disc 2 contains live versions of the BOOH songs, disc 3 contains the 3 videos and interviews with (I think) Meat and Jim.
Although Iīm not sure if itīs the same package. |
As in the same versions as live around the world?
Is it the full bat 2 picture show? |
1) probably yes, (search for the thread about, there are people who know much more about it than me)
2) no (again: probably) just the three videos + interviews with M&J |
We've been over this 3 times already...
Disk 1 - BOOH2 Disk 2 - BOOH Live (LOTW recordings NOT BOOH live with MSO as they're on different labels) DVD - Music videos from Bat 2 The END!!!! |
All i wanted to know, thank you
|
Are the videos in DD 5.1 or just silly 2.0?
|
In what way is plain old stereo silly?
|
Quote:
|
i would stick my neck out on this one and say that the live recordings are what was on the b sides of the singles released at the time. but hope im wrong and this is new stuff

|
Same here but don't hold your breath I am still waiting for a dvd from Play posted last Saturday!!!
 |
The Songs from Disc 2 are from New York Juli 1993. (Exept FCOL)
I like the Box Set! Its a good Christmas-gift! sorry for my baaaad english Roger |
Pre-ordered mine - should come Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest :-)
|
Anything new on the album? Apart from the Live songs and Vids?
|
Well, if the bonus live CD is sourced from the New York, July 1993 concert--with the possible exception of FCOL--no.
All the other Bat I songs plus Anything for Love from that show are available on the various Bat II singles. |

|
And for those of us who do have the singles... well, let's just say that it's version number seven for my collection.

Will we see Bat II in charts list again?
:-P |
is it worth to buy it?
I already have the regular album and the deluxe. My goal was waiting for the "anthology" box with new Steinman tracks. ;) |
Its ****ing amazing! its worth the money for the live disk alone! I've not heard any of these live tracks, maybe I missed them on the singles but the are NOT the LATW recordings!
EDIT: Paradise and FCOL (Although we know that wasn't really live and done in the studio heh) are from LATW I'm loving it :) I'm currently up to 'Two Out Of Three' Mistakes in the booklet though, Meat was born in 1948 and has a song called Objects in the rear view mirror may be closer than they really are... but yes, its good :) |
Any chance for some pics please icwuke? Just to wet my appetite!
|
wipeeee
Just got mine today in the post from Amazon - great it is - all live songs recorded in New York in 1993 exept, For Crying Out Loud, that was recorded in 1994 in USA. Great 3 Disc set :-)! |
Several mistakes in the booklet (as mentioned), and whats with the re-typing of the ML logo and "BOOH II" etc on the front? It's a bit off centre....anyways, the live CD is really great! Awesome mental version of BAT on there! All Revved Up is pretty different to how I've heard it done before. The DVD is pretty nice, and the old interviews with Meat and Jim are cool.
|
Got mine as well last Friday but got no time to watch it... the case looks good! :weee:
Patricia |
Got my copy today as well.
It's so good to see the videos again. Meat, Angelina and Pearl look so young. But didn't we all then   |

|
I BOUGHT THIS TODAY :) !!
ITS AMAZZZZZING! :D |
congrats!:))
what exactly is on the DVD and how long is it? Shame that itīs not released here :( Think I have to get it shipped from the UK |
DVD -
Back Into Hell : Meat Loaf & Jim Steinman Interview. I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Wont Do That) Rock & Roll Dreams Come Through Objects In The Rear View Mirror :) |
The DVD contains:
Back Into Hell - Interview with Meat and Jim (about 9 1/2 mins) I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That) - music video Rock And Roll Dreams Come Through - music video Objects In The Rear View Mirror May Appear Closer Than They Are - music video It all lasts about 33 mins I think. |
cool I want it!:bicker:
|
Can you tell if the DVD is playable in the USA? If so, I shall once again use Amazon.uk for a Bat order; got Bat3 limited edition that way.
|
Quote:
If you mean on a PC, you can switch the DVD drive from region 1 (USA/Canada) to region 2 (Europe) to play the DVD, then switch back afterwards. The DVD playback software will prompt you to do it. HOWEVER you are limited usually to 5 region changes and after that you're stuck. If you end up in (say) region 2 and almost all of your DVDs are region 1, you may regard this as sub-optimal ... ... so what I recommend instead is purchasing some software that allows you to play DVDs from any region without using up your 5 changeovers. I use "DVD Region Free Lite" which works quite nicely, but there are others. Dave |
the live songs are fantastic!!
|
do the original songs sound any different from the original version?
|
dunno, went straight to the live disc, did i mention its amazing??
|
Some of the live tracks are clearly from the MSO DVD :(
For Crying Out Loud Two Out Of Three Life Is A Lemon Out Of The Frying Pan And maybe more....thought it was supposed to be the NYC 1993 concert? :( |
Quote:
Says in the credits all tracks recorded 1993 apart from FCOL which was 1994 and there's definately no orchestra playing. I haven't got live versions at all of Lemon and Frying Pan on mine :panic: :panic: :panic: |
Quote:
there isn't songs from MSO. Only from '93. And.... I thought would be the live songs of the Bat II picture show. But it's awesome!!:-P |
Quote:
Guess the ITunes must be a different version! To the record store I go... |
bought it yesterday, itīs really a good buy!
Itīs a digipak with a transparent slipcase. If Iīm not wrong, the stereo channels sound a bit different to the original and the instruments are more clear IMO. The live CD is great too, very good version of BOOH, faster than most of the other versions. The live cd alone would be worth the price. Good to have the bat2 videos finally on DVD:)) Only thing I wondered about was that the DVD with videos and interviews was PG14! |
Hmmm didn't notice that the DVD in the copy I got was rated ... have to check that! Great having the video's in such perfect quality though isn't it? The re-issue of Bat II and the recent shows have really made me fall in love with Objects again as a song.
Haven't got round to listening to the actual Bat II album yet, so can't comment on if it sounds any better, but the live versions fo the songs sound superb to me too. |
Excellent ! I got my copy yesterday and haven't had a chance to check it out yet :)) Now I'm really looking forward to watching the videos.
Thanks Vicki |
Not entirely sure if the UK version is rated too, but my copy got the German rating system FSK 14, think that might be specific for every country.
Still wondered though 'cause I cant really understand it. PS: listening to all revved up atm, REALLY a great version! very different from the other versions I know, much storytelling in it. :)) |
