64. Not A Dry Eye In The House

This is the START OUT OF HELL & ARRIVE TO HEAVEN topic.
Let's Go to Rock 'n' Roll!!!!!!!

Not A Dry Eye In The House (9)

It's an amazing song. One of the best Diane Warren song. I'd compare with I Don't Want To Miss A Thing from Armageddon by Aerosmith. But it's better cause he is Meat Loaf.
You feel the pain in the full song. When you play it on your CD-player there's not a dry eye in the house...
This is the best song on the album, better than other Diane song I'd Lie For You.

My score: 9

Average: 7.65 (176/23)

Michel 25 Mar 2003 20:42

Not as good as I'd Lie For You, but it's a very good song. Powerfull music.

My score: 7

Bart 25 Mar 2003 21:05

it is not so often but i have to agree with White here.( he White, you are still a nice guy!) This is a very good song. The melody is strong, very strong and Meat sings it superb. Daine Warren Must have written this song together with Meat. i knw for sure. The concept of the song is really Meaty.

9/10

Tim 26 Mar 2003 15:20

This is a great song!!! Live it is even better.... Indeed it is painfull, dramatic and it is a song that you can visualize very good!! Real life stuff, i would say.

8/10

Garrett 29 Mar 2003 22:21

"Not A Dry Eye In The House" is a theater of love and tragedy! It's a hollywood movie of a song!

It's 10/10 worth!

This is one of my favorite Meat Loaf songs and the live version is better but both studio and live versions are brilliant.

Studio Rating: 9.7/10
Live Rating 10+/10

So that's all the words I could find.

A great song 10/10

Puritan 10 May 2003 23:49

Well with these sort of recent marks this one must be climbing in White of High's standings

But I'll bring the average down a bit :)

Never a favourite of mine back in 96. I always preferred the other Diane Warren song If This Is The Last Kiss. And it is still not a favourite some 7 years later sorry to say

My marks 6/10

dottie 11 May 2003 14:50

I have mixed feelings about this song and always have - at times I can find it a little "slushy" doesn't do justice to Meat 6/10

Tim 11 May 2003 19:01

Just listeing to the song. Still a nice one.....oh... have rated it allready.. said nothing!!! :?

Testify 09 Jul 2003 15:09

i like this one alot. 9/10

Terri 12 Jul 2003 15:16

Great song!

8/10

Cathie 12 Jul 2003 17:34

This is not one of my faveorite songs, much prefer "I'd Lie for You" and "If This is the Last Kiss" off the same album. However, it's still a great song sang with great passion. I'd like to hear a live version because everyone seems to be rating them higher.
7,8/10

the_jps 13 Jul 2003 22:11

Sorry, although I loved this when it first came out, I am not now the song's biggest fan. Lyrics are weak and the melody becomes quite tiresome. I'll go 5/10.

Great song... Lots of power and emotion. 10/10

Wild_Honey 14 Jul 2003 19:10

Hmmm, I'd give it 7/10. I think it's a good song, but not one of my absolute favourites.

Evan 14 Jul 2003 21:33

I don't like this song and I don't like the horrid Diane Warren. This song is better then the cheap "I'd Lie For You And That's The Truth" , which is nothing more then a cheap take off of "Anything For Love". Diane Warren is too commericial and has sold out too many times for me to actually have respect for any work she's written for Meat.

2/10

Quigmo 17 Sep 2003 07:25

This one just doesn't quite work for me. I think of this as manufactured emotion not real emotion. Good production, good sound, bad song.
7/10

RSG 25 Nov 2003 23:28

Amazing song, I love this one, lots, always did really. Has some power in it and emotion, and the music is nice, quite probably the best Warren/Loaf Piece I can think of.

White of High 25 Nov 2003 23:40

I agree with you RSG! I think it's so much better than I'd Lie For You...

RSG 25 Nov 2003 23:41

Thanks WOH :D

I didn't mention 9.5/10

I think I'd Lie For You, it has more power, and it has voice of Patti. I'd Lie for you is also a better song to perform live.

OK but I Don't Want To Miss A Thing is better.

rockfenris2005 02 Dec 2003 09:12

Stupid send-up of Steinman. All of WTTN sucks - INCREDIBLY !!!
However, Steinman did brilliantly steal back the line: "Hear the sound of a heart breaking" for IS NOTHING SACRED. It almost proves that Warren was ripping off Jim in the 1st place. 2/10 - because it, at least, sounds like Steinman (in some way).

Skeleton 02 Dec 2003 14:45

I like this song.. powerful, but not beat IŽd Lie For You.

8/10

LostSoul 28 Dec 2003 15:37

Here I come again... I do not like Diane Warren's songs! I don't hate her... but just don't like her commercial style!

BUT Meat performs it in such a deep and emotionnal way that I do love this song! and live I just listened to him... sometimes you just have to SHUT UP and LISTEN!

One of my favorites on the WTTN album! but still don't like Warren!

8/10

RadioMaster 08 Jul 2006 20:00

I like it.
The beginning is a little bit too shmaltzy, but then it gets really good.

It was almost like a movie, the way you said goodbye, you must have spend a lot of time, rehearsing each and every line.

Really my favorite Diane Warren song, beside Dont wanna miss a thing

mszee 08 Jul 2006 20:03

Ok song but was great the way ML does it in concert...hmmm...tough one...
