The Arguements on this site.

Hello All,

I have been visiting this site for a long time(mainly just lurking)
I thought it would be high time to log a post.

I have been a long time fan of Meat Loafs since about 1985.
I have seen him in concert only 7 times, and these have been some of the best concerts that i have ever been to.
I have also got all his albums, be it Jim Steinman or not and for the most part they are great records

Over the last year or so, i have become increasely frustrated with the arguements, the bickering between members on this site.

Please remember that this site is called MLUKFC.

We ALL have different views of Meat Loafs Songs, concerts, material that he uses.
We are all of course are entitled to these views.

People need to calm down and think about what they are writing in posts.

With regards to Bat 3, if that is what they will call it.
Why cant people who are already knocking it, due to the supposed
lack of involvement by Jim Steinmen wait until official announcement are made???

WHAT IF THE MATTER WITH SOME PEOPLE.

I think that we are very lucky that Meat Loaf is recording another album and hopefully that he will tour in support of this record.

Having seen the latest post from Meat(Fireball),which i think we(as in this forum) are very lucky to have him post here!!!.
He is increasely getting more fed up,angry & frustrated(IMO) with certain posters.

We need to support Meat Loaf.
Surely we are all fans ?????

Sorry about the rants, but i hope that EVERYONE can think about what i have said, and hopefully allow this forum to continue for the enjoyment off ALL

Julian

ChloeLee88 15 Jan 2006 23:27

 I agree!

jools35 15 Jan 2006 23:29

Sorry ladies and gents

Posted in the wrong forum

AndrewG 16 Jan 2006 01:11

I agree as well. But look at it this way: I think that many people bitch about what will become of Bat 3 on this site because there is not a lot of other decent music out there right now (at least in my opinion) so all credit to Meat and Jim. I definitely do not think Meat should listen too much to what a number of individuals have to bitch about on this website when he is thinking about his future music, he should just do what he thinks is best.

agree with that..specially HE SHOULD DO WHAT HE THINK IS BEST.

Pudding 16 Jan 2006 03:07

I disagree.

If people want to voice their concerns, then they should be allowed to, after all they are the paying public. Some people are quite happy to sit back, go with the flow and have a wait and see attitude, which is great. But there's also people like myself who aren't like that. If that makes me seem like I'm bitching then so be it, I'll be a bitch. But as much as I respect someone else's opinion for saying nothing, I don't see why my opinion should be disrespected for saying something.

Pud

rockfenris2005 16 Jan 2006 08:52

Exactly. I agree with Pudding. If I want to say something I'll damn well say it. No one's gonna prevent me from having an opinion. And that's what I do here, express my opinions. If you can't live with that then don't make a scene, just linger away and find something else to do

Ageing Bat 16 Jan 2006 10:15

Perhaps the problem is more with the way an opinion is expressed, rather than the opinion itself?

Now I'm heading back down to 'Off Topic' where I belong!! :D

jools35 16 Jan 2006 11:00

hi everyone

In response to rockfenris.

In my first post i said
We ALL have different views of Meat Loafs Songs, concerts, material that he uses.
We are all of course are entitled to these views.

People need to calm down and think about what they are writing in posts.

I have no problem with anyone voicing their views etc.

But as Ageing BAt said, i believe that it is the way anyones views are expressed is the problem.

Actually in my own experience, it sometimes isn't. It's because people can't take it that Meat isn't super human and that he does have faults.

This coin, actually, has two sides. It's not only Meat that isn't super human.

That was really funny 10/10 Ryan very impressive

Everyone that posts at Rockman has the same opinion as to what you said above.
But I agree 100% with Pud and Ryan (which does'nt happen often)
If you can't express an opinion on a forum why have one?

No, there is nothing wrong with expressing an opinion on a forum.
But every forum/website has an owner, who, at first, is paying quite some money to have it online. Then lots and lots of time and energy have to be put into it, to keep it up and running.
So it is the full right of the owners to kind of keep it the way THEY like it to be.
Beside that: it IS a fansite, so there is this ''high'' risk the person/band after who a website is named and dedicated to, is talked about the way it happens on here.

shadow1000001 17 Jan 2006 21:37

I think that alot of the problems are that the written word doesn't always convey the feeling that the writer is trying to portray. Humour and sarcasm are not easily translated.
Alot of posts here are taken too literally. That's why we need more smilies ;)

How did you know? I was thinking about doing one where I'm constantly ass-kissing, butt-munching and being a sycophantic lunatic :retard: Jim is the king of the world  and Meat Loaf is his lowly serf :keke: I'm his most trusted advisor of course ;) and I know exactly what he's thinking ALL the time

I talked about it!

Steve6 18 Jan 2006 20:11

You're right Bart we need to all head to F.C and let our anger out there......:bicker:
Then when it's all said and done we can go down to the pub for a pint

and maybe another..........
there's no harm in three..................
We might as well have one more..........
Its getting too comfortable....
Its great fun..
Starting to feel merry but we're still in control....
We've got one on the house......
Feeling crazy now........................... :yay:

mikeloaf 19 Jan 2006 00:17

I oddest thing about this site is when people argue against Meat when he posts his opinion on issues they clearly know less about that him, which is most things.

L96 19 Jan 2006 00:41

And we are not allowed a difference in opinion or logic?

It is possible to be a fan, and have different ideals to the great man....

Steve6 19 Jan 2006 00:52

But we have to respect Meats decisions. As I said Meat does'nt let his fans down. When he collapsed on stage, I thought the rest of the tour would be cancelled, but he came back out again in no time, when he should'nt have.
He won't let us down.....;) I believe in him.

mikeloaf 19 Jan 2006 00:53

His ideal are the ideals, without him non of this would exist.

L96 19 Jan 2006 00:59

I too believe in him, and have not said otherwise.

Ideals are an interesting topic, very open to individual perception.

Steve6 19 Jan 2006 01:16

I saw it on the MSO DVD. I knew Meat still wanted to do something big. His passion is still there.

You have to hand it to him. He's doing his living best to make this a success.

mikeloaf 19 Jan 2006 01:22

I think that everyone comes in from different points of view. It's easy to get annoyed and offended by other peoples views, most reply posts come from that feeling. If I agree I don't reply, if I disagree, I reply to get my point accross.

Like you say we all have our ideals, I can't argue with that!
I love Meat Loaf's music and I really admire the man.

L96 19 Jan 2006 01:28

Too right, Steve.

A forum with all agreements would be rather dull. Opinions make discussions.

Chris 19 Jan 2006 01:31

Discussions are fine.

It is when the discussions lead to people attacking other peoples opinions or going beyond the words and attacking the poster instead that problems start.

Steve6 19 Jan 2006 01:36

I know what you mean Chris. Its always better to stay on the topic than off it.

I have been guilty of going off the topic, but I'm learning.

mikeloaf 19 Jan 2006 01:39

Also at the moment there isn't really anything new to discuss.

Steve6 19 Jan 2006 01:57

We do repeat things too much. So are you coming for a quick  Mike because I am feeling really thirsty.

Ankie 19 Jan 2006 09:12

Hey, and it isnt even off topic ;) , it is a way to deal with the reason for this thread   . Hope you had a good time ;)

Bart 19 Jan 2006 23:54

Maybe because of the new rules there isn't any discussion going. The bat 3 threads are dead. I don't like that, I miss it.

mikeloaf 20 Jan 2006 02:18

Wait until April? No someone, somehow will ( i hope ) find something out before then! Even if it's rubbish!

Pudding 20 Jan 2006 03:56

What do you think I've been trying to do? But I get a right royal shafting up the jackies for doing so

But for once I agree with Bart The bat 3 threads are dead. I don't like that, I miss it.

But if things are getting out of control, with people setting too much store in rumour, getting worked up, and posting attacks or showing disrespect for other peoples opinions, what are we gonna do? :?

It's that simple.Discussion and debate is pretty cool and insightful, and if it could be kept to that, then post till your hearts content, but when things reach that pitch, threads are gonna get locked. :(

Bart 21 Jan 2006 22:43

You are right. So, What happened to Steve? I am just curious cause I just find out that he is banned.

Chris 21 Jan 2006 23:10

Steve decided to attack other forum members.
People complained.
Steve was banned as per the rules.

Paul191 22 Jan 2006 02:09

I find Rockman a crazy place at times.
Look at what stephen has written today. He's out of his mind to say the least, insulting people randomly.
Luckily we have moderators here that can delete these kind of posts. I mean what the hell would Meat Loaf or Jim Steinman think if they knew they had fans like that. They would stop making music probably! :))

Depends what your views are on moderators, for the most part I personally think they're unnecessary, deleting, locking and editing posts, when they needn't have been. But that's just me, I swear a lot :D

Pud

AndrewG 23 Jan 2006 02:28

Yeah fair enough I do agree that it should not be necessary to have (too many) moderators on a site probably. I swear a lot too (a bit too much as many point out, but I'm originally from Glasgow so that explains a lot.
But if someone like Steve shows up here it's good a moderator can ban the crap out of them if necessary. :))

The good thing here is that the gossip and rumors have come to an end. That's an achievement from the moderators. In fact, they should have done it a long time ago. maybe people here thought I was a pain in the arse but I was fighting against all the bullshit that one, two or three people were spreading around.

No you weren't, you were disagreeing for the sake of disagreeing. Some of the so-called rumours or gossip had to a greater or lesser degree, some air of truth about them. Unfortunately people like yourself, were more than unwilling to discuss these, joined the Meat Police and took offence.

Pud

Bart 23 Jan 2006 12:55

no, pud. you make up your own facts all the time. Just like now: "No you weren't, you were disagreeing...(..)". And they had NO truth whatsover. If I have to recollect all your statements here on this board than there is a lot of prove that they were all gossip. Don't let me "quote" your messages here.

Ankie 23 Jan 2006 15:15

Looks like we are about to have another arguement.....
It sounds as if it is turning into a personal one, so then this is not the place to have it.

Bart 23 Jan 2006 15:52

no it is not. But I got the right to defend myself. I am not starting it.

AndyK 23 Jan 2006 16:22

Anyone with a substantial number of posts on this board should know the difference between a discussion and an argument.

It doesn't matter who started it ... what matters if who finishes it and who doesn't prolong it!! Honestly, there are more rational arguments in a school playground betwen a group of 8 year olds than there are here more often than not.

Bart 26 Jan 2006 16:53

There is just a post deleted on a topic in general messages. It contents negative comment. Suddenly it was disappeared. This is censuring. And that is wrong. I don't mind that it is deleted. But I mind that it is deleted and nobody knows it has been deleted. Now it seemes that there was no negative comment there. So the topic is censured and the discussion is directed in a way the staff want it to be.
