as of right now, the current sales ranking on Amazon.com is
95 !!!

According to the definition on Amazon.com :

"As an added service for customers, authors, publishers, artists, labels, and studios, we show how items in our catalog are selling. This bestseller list is much like The New York Times Bestsellers List, except it lists millions of items! The lower the number, the higher the sales for that particular title. The calculation is based on Amazon.com sales and is updated regularly. The top 10,000 best sellers are updated each hour to reflect sales in the preceding 24 hours. Bottom line : It's in the top 100 for sales ... and looks like it's going to be a big hit to me !!

I just left Amazon and was coming her to post that, but you beat me to it. Johnny on the spot, you are! :lol: I am thrilled to see it doing so well on Amazon. I'm going to call several local stores tomorrow to make sure they have it on hand to put out on Tuesday, but I really am not expecting there to be distribution problems like there were in the UK. Woo, I am so exciting that things are warming up in the States! 8) 8) 8)

I pre-ordered mine online from Best Buy.com, and got a message today that it's already been shipped !! I was surprised .. I didn't expect it to be shipped until Tuesday.

But when I went into Best Buy today, the guy checked his computer, and told me it will definitely be in the store on Tuesday. He said when you order them on-line, they allow 2-3 business days, so I'll probably get it in the mail the same day they put it on the shelf :)) This is so cool !!

I am getting these flashbacks...remember so well how excited I was when CHSIB was about to be released in Europe! It is SO great to see it in the shops!

Wow, there doesn't seem to be ANY distribution problem here in the US. This afternoon I called:

Barnes and Noble- they have "a box of them", that will go on sale tomorrow AM

Target- they have many, many copies of it that will go on sale tomorrow AM. They also said it will be featured in their national Sunday color newspaper advertisement this weekend, on sale for $11.88. The clerk I spoke with was very excited about the CD.

Walmart- got it, it will go out tomorrow AM.

Since the department stores like Target and Walmart have it I really have no doubt that the large music retailers will have it in large numbers. Woo, I am ready to start chart watching! Go Meat!

It's really fantastic to hear that Meat's brilliant new album is being handled so much better in the US than in the UK / Europe. I really hope that the single and album both get the number one spot.

I am such a freak, I'm afraid- I actually went to Target before work this AM (was late for a meeting as a result- the things we do for Meat!) just so I could actually see the copies of CHSIB on American shelves! I didn't buy a copy (I have a UK copy, with American and Aussie versions in the mail to me), but I really had to resist the urge to run around Target and announce "you MUST buy this CD" to each person there. (Perhaps that isn't such a bad idea... :lol: ) The CD is red, with a cool sticker on the front that says "You've seen paradise by the dashboard light, You'd do anything for love and now, You Couldn't Have Said it Better. I am so thrilled that my fellow Americans can now experience this album!

This is fantastic news! I'm so pleased for Meat. I think it got in the top 20 here album wise, so let's hope it goes all the way tonight (sorry, I must stop doing that!)!

I laughed very loudly when I heard about the cool sticker on the front of the CD cover. I wish mine had that on (the UK one is blue, and says something slightly unimaginitive like "including the new hit single CHSIBM plus a video of BOOH).

Great to hear stores have actually heard about it and have stocks.

I only ran into one slight distribution problem today ....

the guy at FYE said it showed up on his list of new releases, and yet they still haven't gotten it yet :( He couldn't figure it out either, and said it must have been delayed for some reason ... I'll keep checking, and hopefully it'll be there tomorrow.

Otherwise, they had plenty of copies on the shelves in two of our major department stores : Best Buy and Borders :))

I was wearing my orange CHSIB tour shirt and when I went to buy it at Borders, the girl behind the counter started laughing when I showed her that it matched the CD cover ... :lol:

Top 100 out of all the cds would be okay but if you mean out of the latest 100 releases its 99 then thats pretty poor. Out of all the releases this week we at least expect meat to be the 2nd or 3rd topseller of all the artists having just released an album. With regards billboard, top 20 would be satisfactory.

You're absolutely right Chris, and I apologize for the confusion. :oops:

Currently it's listed as # 71 in the 100 Top Sellers for Amazon.com, which according to the definition on the site : "this list, updated daily, contains top-selling items that are currently available for purchase."

I'm not sure how this rates in comparison to all of the releases this week ... I'll keep checking on that ... and I totally agree about Billboard.

FYI, my US version "preorder" copy arrived today, I got a message that it shipped at 10 minutes to midnight on Monday night. Hopefully, thousands of people all over the US will be getting their preorder copies today, starting a wave of "word of mouth" that will increase sales exponentially. The copy I just got is going to be a much appreciated 34th birthday present for my best friend (and frequent Meat concert partner) of 25 years.

well, Here in Canada- I just went to a record store in the Annexe (the COOL, HIP, YOUNG, MOD part of town -where they hate EVERYTHING) and Meat is in the top ten sellers!!!
I bought another copy- I couldn't resist- the clerk had a mohawk...I like being overly excited in front of 'cool' people...tee hee :lol: (by cool here I mean sorta overly laid back, y'know the jaded ones who don't get excited about anything?)
