Have we got anything to look forward to?
Braver is a distant memory.....the musical is about to leave the UK. Is that the end of the road for us or is there anything new we can look forward to?
|
A book about Meat is listed for November on Amazon in the UK but not on the US site. Not sure about any details of it yet.
The musical soundtrack which was promised way too soon for any Steinman project is still coming "soon" (supposing they are either going to make sure the final setlist is there or just decided to wait). I get the idea Meat may have been looking at the archives he asked about some of his mostly unknown early stuff on the board, but I doubt anyone has a 100% pristine copy. Also not sure who would want some of it other than being a completest. I am really hoping some of the old soundboards and pro shot video is going to become available but rights issues may be a problem. Finally Meat is in an upcoming TV show, I'm more about the music but happy to see he is doing well enough to work in acting. |
Game of Thrones is pretty epic at the moment.

Apparently there will be a new best of and a release of Bat with some real special tracks in October...
|
Oh nightinr... have you forgotten?
There's always something magic There's always something new |

Ghost Wars looks cool. We can talk about Meat's character, etc.

Karinne did not drop her project because of lack of quality. Her album was almost finished. From the few final tracks I heard it was well produced. She has an amazing voice. The version of Braver that you heard may have been the demo that she did 13 years ago. She dropped her project because of all the nastiness and negativity she received from Steinman fans, including death threats!!! She just did not want to deal with that level of insanity to release a project. It is sad and appalling that people will behave so shockingly bad and immaturely when they don't like like something. Resorting to death threats is deplorable and absolutely uncalled for. The final versions hadn't even be released yet and people were hating on the small snippets that they had heard. They would not even attempt to give HER project a fair chance. |

I have her version of "Braver" that I bought from Amazon music this year. It is not as good as the old demo. What I have is definitely a version released after Meat's. I have the screenshot but the link won't post here properly. |

Is this christmas album ever coming out? That would be something to look forward to. It's been talked about for Years now but every year Christmas comes and goes without it.

Then again I could be 100% wrong. If it happens this will be the only Christmas album I ever buy. |
You just never know with Meat. He's a mystery

Apparently, I have plenty to look forward too. And so will the people that follow me around. All thanks to a German friend

:O Whaaaatcha got there, Adje?

Is a proper 40th Anniversary Bat Out Of Hell actually being released?

Meat Loaf's 70th.:D

Also, I think someone said Midnight At The Lost And Found should be getting the remastered re-release treatment very shortly...

According to the expo videos, Meat & Jim are hoping to do something with the Bat Demos, now that certainly sounds a lot more interesting than the straight re-re-release the record company wanted to do for Bats 40th!

Received 3 signed CD's (Braver, VBO and Bat3) and 2 signed vinyl's (Bat 1 and Bat 2) from a private collection. They were send to me as a gift by a widow. Because I shared some concert videos with her late husband in the past. He wanted me to have those items. I never personally had the pleasure of meeting this person. But receiving this package with the letter from the widow overwhelmed me. Not because of the items but because of this incredible gesture. Still a bit lost for words...

The Walking Dead returns in a few weeks.

And for those sharing stuff with me. You know who you are and you know I am grateful  Although Meat is having a new TV series, doing expo and comic con meetings and has people performing the songs we love him for, for me there is nothing better than seeing him perform on stage. And from that perspective there will be more to look forward to ;) |

I have S5 of The Blacklist to look forward to... Spader.

If you care for the same stuff that I do then this might be something for you to look forward to. Coming soon is nearly 2 hours of '2007/leg 2' tour and a 2005 HOTD tour show ;)
Just to keep the flow of Meat Loaf's amazing legacy going. Is there anything better than Meat performing live on stage? |
What was her name? Aspen Something ;-)
|
Nothing wrong with Aspen Miller

Meat's said on his FB page " I have about 6 Live board tapes from 2012 I am go to put up on Pledge . If you don't know about Pledge Look it up, very cool . We are getting ready to put Demos from 1975 that only up until about 6 months ago only about 5 people had ever heard them"
So something there to look forward to :) |

Is Meat actually expecting us to pay for these "tapes" ? Surely as a gesture to fans he should just put them on his website or another format for free. Let's face it most of us already paid a lot of money for tour tickets.
|
And as for Aspen Miller nothing personal against the girl...but not in same league as Patti.

I am happy he is making these available. It is really an extreme "niche" item so I do not expect there will be a windfall made off them. |

I have no issue paying for a copy of the tapes. I went to several shows that year and would label it as money well spent. Don't want to pay for them, then don't, simple as that
|
No problem in paying for proper albums or live albums properly released but to pay for these tapes is verging on taking advantage of loyal fans. Surely it would be a nice gesture to hand them over for free so we can enjoy them and marvel at his past performances.
I know the silent majority agree with me 🙂 |

There's no such thing as a silent majority. For a majority to form, they have to stand up and be counted.

Not even the majority of loyal Meat Loaf fans are going to have interest in old concert tapes, it is a niche audience. Most fans will buy the officially released live albums if they want some live shows. I want to hear the unedited soundboards. I'd prefer ones from say '87 to '93 and a real "Storytellers" tour show, maybe those will come out later. As I said earlier I really do not think anyone should expect any huge number of sales on these. |

Springsteen set up a whole website where you can buy his concert tapes. Only ever given out a few tracks and one whole show for free out of hundreds from what I could see. And Springsteen is over half way to being a billionaire. |

Springsteen started by selling recordings of current shows, then gradually moved into selling old archive shows (minor correction- it's not his own website, he hired a company to handle it. His record company also gets a cut). People happily buy the old shows, even though we have decent to good bootlegs of some of them already. In Meat's case, this is new for him, and I think it's a good step. If the fans enjoy it, perhaps he will release more shows in the future. This could give those who don't like bootlegs or don't know where to get them a chance to hear some old shows. |

IMO, I think it's only fair that those of us who do collect boots support the official product (as we can afford).

With regard the "silent majority" the clue is in the title.
My opinion and I expect the "silent majority" think Meat has made enough from his loyal fans and it would nice gesture to release these tapes for nothing. |
