I'm a writer from the UK. I met Jim several years ago and - for reasons I won't get into here (because, honestly, who really wants to hear about my shit anyway?) - I'm indebted to him forever. I'm involved in some capacity with the BAT musical, but I can't post about that yet. It all started as a 'favour in kind' (my writing for yours), and I guess Jim liked my stuff and my approach (and my work ethic) enough to trust me with -- well, what he trusted me with.

In a nutshell, that's it :cool:

It's the green kryptonite secret crystal of symphonic rock music no one else has and allows you to make music no one else can make. It started it's life as a small green splinter and was very weak. But it grew and grew when it was past down through generations of musicians over millennia, gaining its strength.

Bruce Springsteen had it for a while in the 70s when it was close to its ultimate strength but was then past down to Jim and Meat and they have had it ever since.

They borrow it from each other from time to time as they are the best of friends.

But when they work together the secret crystal harnesses the power of Meat and Jim's friendship and then it burns the brightest it will ever burn in the universe and it unlocks its magical music powers...

I'm going to see the Bat musical 8 times in Manchester so far, so I'm look gin forward to your work :)

WHAT?! 8?? Might nick a last minute seat in London before it finally leaves our shores but Im in Mancs 18th Feb - 2nd ever show, didn't want to miss it for the universe!!

I won't be at Manchester (at least, 'as of now') but I will be at the London showing at some point (Jim also won't be at Manchester - 'as of now, subject to change').

Jim's said that he will be in Manchester on Facebook, but I'm taking everything with a pinch of salt (i work in the UK theatre industry) woop woop!

I still think it's magic ;) But given what Meat has said about the horsemen representing the music industry, I think that bag contains what the duo need to stand up to and vanquish them .. could be the songs, Meat's drive, or as I see it, the magic they create and have to stand firm and deliver their vision, their way, break the mould, and sod the lot of them!! ;)

* A magic microphone for Meat
* Or a magic Meat handkerchief
* Or a magic amplifier for Jim's guitar.

I'll adapt my original guess and say that it's the songs, or the music itself.

Im gonna guess its Meat's soul/Meatness/drive (as caryl said) and he is with Jim ready to face down what ever they have ahead.

Part of me thinks the cover is as much metaphorical as it is literal. Given this is Meat's last one could view the cover as Jim and Meat at the end of the road looking back and preparing to face their own legacy before they move on to whatever lies ahead.

For me the suitcase is the Pandora's Box, which containes all the evils of the world.

Edit: Eventually Jim & Meat opened it, and all the evils flew out, leaving only "Hope" inside once they had closed it again.
