When Will The Live In Sydney DVD Be Released?

Hey guys,

Me again! Just been wondering when will the Live In Sydney DVD (called it that because of a lack of title) be released? I know it's in February sometime as the trailer video suggests but when in February?

As an avid Meat fan whose more than excited over this DVD I really wanna know! : )

Can anyone help me?

Cheers
Ollie

I think it would only make sense to tie it in with the HIAHB release to take advantage of any customers who might be picking up the CD and also see the DVD. I hate to mention this for the slack I will probably catch but really don't give a crap :moon: , but given Meat's vocal woes in Australia I wonder if they are doing some touch ups on the vocals (in fairness it is safe to say almost every singer does it on "live" stuff). I am sure though it is nothing less than sheer amazing perfection:cheer:

Evil One 19 Jan 2012 00:52

Meat said he was keeping 80% of the vocals.

I really hope the dvd includes some video footage from the UK tour, especially Dead Ringer and Song of Madness. Meat delivered such amazing live performances in the UK. Everyone should see how incredible it was.

i have just receved an reply from concert one ltd and this is what they said

Meat Loaf Update

Meat Loaf has been, as ever, hugely busy, but has been in the studio for the last week working on the audio mix with his guitarist/producer, Paul Crook. We’ve heard the first song and it sounds great!

In the meantime our editors have been hard at work on the pictures and the interviews that will be included with the DVD and the business team here has agreed a deal for North American DVD distribution and agreed terms for distribution in other territories around the world.

We’ll come back as soon as possible with the expected release date.

Thanks for your patience.

I remember Meat saying that there would be a CD, but I don't remember whether it was going to come with the international release of HIAHB or the DVD.

there's an old saying - don't judge a dvd by its cover.

wizardofodd 09 Feb 2012 15:39

Yeah the cover isn't mind blowing. I could have done a better job with my basic adobe skills. Still, looking forward to the DVD anyway.

snider22 09 Feb 2012 15:46

Keep in mind that this is the Australian release only. Other distributors around the world may have something completely different

glamourgirl 09 Feb 2012 16:10

Surely that's not the actual cover. That's one of the worst covers I've ever seen- you can't even see Meat in that photo.

Evil One 09 Feb 2012 16:18

I assume that's Ginny Wotsit on the right. Been in the band 5 minutes and already on the DVD cover. No Patti though.

She's the only one you can see on the cover. Meat's completely in the dark. Poor Patti- 18+ years in the band and still can't make the cover. :(

I'm not one to typically be negative, but I gotta say that the cover is crap, I've seen bootleg covers that were better.

But I'm more concerned with the prospect of Blu-Ray as I would much prefer a Hi-Def version

The slogan of those who publishes/produces the concert is "Rock in HD", so it would be strange if there isn't a Blu-ray release...

I don't want to be negative either, but that is an awful dvd cover, terrible pic of Meat.

The new girl has been in the band for only a few shows, so why is she on the cover? Why isn't Patti?

From that angle I think it's just as well that you do not see him properly. No one would look particularly good with this angle.

We also all know what he looks like, so I think it was cool with such a picture.

I'm not a huge fan of the cover either. As others have said you can't really see Meat because he's in the dark and from the angle they've shot the picture at, I think it makes him look heavier too.

I think Ginny ended up on the cover because of where she was stood when they took the photo of Meat. Patti would have been to the right of him and so would have been missed out of the photo, then again even Meat is pretty much a shadow in this picture.

I'm guessing you're right but it doesn't seem fair for Ginny to be on the cover when John and Patti have been in the band for around two decades.

You can't be sure about that. Meat said that when one band member gets a solo, the others want one too. It's the same principle.

Surely there were a bunch of photos to choose from. This seems like an odd choice. A dvd cover is supposed to grab your attention and this one doesn't.
But I'm looking forward to seeing the dvd and hopefully it is filmed well.

This pic just doesn't capture the thrill and excitement of a Meat Loaf concert, imo. Meat sets the standard so high for live performers. I've seen some amazing live shots that capture his shows but this doesn't, imo.

As others have said, the most important thing is the content of the dvd.

She got in that shot by lucky chance, if Patti was standing there at the time it would be her instead. And btw who really gives a damn what band member gets on the cover??? I know I don't.

LOL It does create some controversity here on the fan board, only when you walk trough a store and see this cover it won't attrack people to give it a better look.

The DVD cover looks like the cheap '3 for 10 euro' concert dvd's, that you find in the sale dumpsters (the ones that barely have stereo sound and no extra features). I can't believe this is the actual cover they gonna use. I also doubt the info is accurate. Unless Meat decided to scrap one or two songs from his 2 hour concert:?

Evil One 09 Feb 2012 20:36

That's what I thought too. If this truly is the DVD, wouldn't the release date and cover be posted on the Concert One website and Facebook page :??:
And wouldn't it also be available for pre-order on other websites as well (Amazon, etc.) :??: Maybe I'm just being a little skeptical ... but the more I think about it, I'll believe it when I see official confirmation ;)

I highly doubt it too. Think I will wait for something more official. Only die-hard fans are going to pay $24.99 for that, if I had the patience ( which I do not have) to wait a few months I'm guessing you will be able to pick it up for much less.

Evil One 09 Feb 2012 22:16

Patience is often rewarding. I picked up the Rockpalast DVD for less than a fiver, at which I thought it was good value. Had I paid full price for it I would have been disappointed.

Perhaps it isn't the real one at all. I guess we won't know until it pops up on some more reliable websites :-) x

evil nickname 09 Feb 2012 22:59

For accuracy's sake:

1) OMG! It's not just Ginny that's also on the cover. There's also that Danny the bassplayer guy and that Justin with his keyboards guy. ZOMG! For shame! If you really think it's that bad, just make your own, print it and use that one.
2) That $24.95? Given it's an Australian site, one would suppose it's 25 Au$$ie dollars. Which would make it like $27 U$. Suggested retail. On the site of the Australian distributor.

Cherry.Loaf 09 Feb 2012 23:37

I don't think the price is that expensive £17 is less than my Rockaplast DVD was. I agree with Wario on the cover it looks like a pirated one to me

Excellent  But of course I'd have to choose one of the US shows :))

To be honest, I'm not really interested in the cover, although I do agree with that it could be better. What I'd like to know is where the rest of the concert went to? I'm pretty sure the one I attended was a fair bit longer than 100 minutes O.O

That's a brilliant cover Wario, that makes it look exciting.

Another good cover, far better than that rubbish.

I very much doubt it is 100 minutes. No concert runtimes previously have gad an exact round number like that. Makes me think they don't know or haven't bothered to put in the true runtime, as others have said given this is the only place on the net it is to be seen it is suspicious.

Nice work Andrew and Wario :D

I had nothing better to do so I thought I may as well create something. This one took me about half an hour:

nice skybird! There are some talented artists on this forum.

AndrewG 10 Feb 2012 14:39

I really like that cover Skybird.
Still don't think Guilty Pleasures is a good title for a DVD or a Meat Loaf related tour for that matter. It seems pie in the sky to me. A bit like Hair of the dog etc. It's not music / Meat Loaf specific enough.

RSG 10 Feb 2012 14:51

i liked hair of the dog, very rock. Guilty Pleasure... take it or leave it :) i'm more into the show's substance than what the show is called. I imagine we all are here on mlukfc.

Yeah but if you have a music tour either called "The Wrecking Ball Tour" or "The Guilty Pleasures Tour" then it's quite obvious which one is more rock and thus more appropriate in my opinion. The latter may work for a slimy glam rock artist! ;-)

I'm just being stereo typical and a bit difficult what I want to see on a DVD cover.

Now these are some excellent covers by Wario, Andrew, and Skybird. If I saw this on a store shelf, it would get my attention.

I still don't think the dvd on the madman site is legit. Why isn't it posted on the Concert One site? I doubt that Meat would ever approve such a rubbish cover. The cover is important because it's the first impression of the dvd. If people see a pitiful cover, they might think the dvd itself is poor quality and not buy it.
