PITP
WE were told we had 20 min, and we played 21.34
Enough said' If it wasn't good I'm sorry did the best I could we could not hear and they sent us up early before the line check to the tv truck was ready, my monitors did not work and if anyone can do better then more power to them. when you can't hear!!!!!!!!! they sucked we tried that's all I can say they cut us off at 12 mins. when we had 20. I am very upset, last nite was not our new set was not the whole show not The lights were bringing, that was a a wram up and the first time we had done three of the songs, we couldn't go longer than 2 hours. we did 6 off the new record and thats a lot if I did everything we would be up there for 6 hours. |
tis ok fire ball! i thought u were brill! n my mum does to!
(mum says u were the best act up there) u rock! make sure u rest. Love Testify |
:D Well all I can say is nice seeing you in the elevator yesterday!!
You rocked Plymouth!! You are a true gentleman and you put you heart and soul into a show!! Thanks Meat! Hugs Feleena xx |
Hey Fireball, I think you did great. I think most of us are angry with the organisers that they didn't give you the time you deserved. Also most of us, I think, would understand how tired you must have been after your promo gig the night before. You certainly brought that stage alive. ROCK ON FIREBALL. :D
|
i only heard on the inet, and that sound wasn't good..
All I can say, take care and rock on. Nice feleena, you met him on the elevator? nice stuff Asha |
meat
meat take it by me mate you could see you was doing your best .you will do for me . i can't stand the presenters of the show . duncan from blue said your mad & for that dennise van outan says you was going on to much, f..k her meat she aint fit to do your washing , il oved seeing you with the red scare again meat see you on all your 3 shows in sheffield ,f..k pitp, all the best greg
|
I agree with the others - I thought you were great and you gave it all you could.
Take care of yourself! Luv Terri |
Well said greg, totally agree with what you said. How can Denise van Outen say Meat goes on with himself to much when she is one of Britains biggest and loudest show offs. Why couldn't they get decent presenters instead of wanna be legends and Big Brother cast offs. Many I have spoken to today agree that Meat wasn't shown the respect he deserves. :x
|
I agree with the others too. You did a great job considering.
|
Meat
I know you always give your best 8) if I didn't believe that you wouldn't have been the top of my list for the last 25+ years  Don't be upset........chill..........the majory of people think you were given a bum deal......and we love you what ever, because you are you  |
ROCK ON FIRE BALL!!
We love you and know you did the best you could. Trust me, I have tried to sing Bat Out Of Hell in many karoke bars where I could not hear myself. It is HORRID! How did you feel about your show in Plymouth? The set list sounds amazing! ROCK ON FIRE BALL!!! |
Meat man, sounds like you're taking this pretty bad... I have to admit (as you may have guessed from some of my posts) I couldn't believe the way you were treated.
It totally sucked and it was clear you was doing the best you could considering the sound problems etc... From the few minutes they showed of you, the crowd pops sounded amazing and you seemed to really get over with the mainly young crowd. I just still cant believe they cut you for Craig David... respect to him for what he has achieved, but totally disrespectful to cut you mid song. The tossers in the studio claimed you had 15 mins and stayed on for 52 mins. Anyway man, you did well and looking forward to you returning in November... take it easy, Kev |
Fantastic job Meat!
Don't know if you've managed to see any of the TV coverage but I think the on-screen text message during your interview proved just how much you stood out from the other artists - yours was a true performance from a true performer :) Lucy X |
pitp
at least you sang live
sod them all see you in belfast |

ROCK ON FIRE BALL!!! |
Hi, I thought what was broadcast on the radio was great! The mike cut out once or twice, but Patti, Kasim and the rest of the band more then covered up for it when it happened and when it was working, all seemed well and sounded fine too! :)
Anyway, i am getting perplexed where to post this with all the different topics of the day, but go to this url (i posted it before but they DID add another shot of Meat!): http://217.158.83.123/scripts/kws30p...xOnly&maxhits= 12&FLFA_FIELD=&SEARCH_FILTERA=&search= LFLON+002759&hmessage=PARTY%20IN%20THE%20PARK%20-%20LONDON&submit=lsearch The first page now has a shot of Meat and Prince Charles sitting in the stands. Cool ;) Take care and when i find more, i'll let ya all know! Edited to add just another small comment and to also see if i can get the url to not list so long! If there's a problem with the above link, please just copy and paste it into your browsers. And for those who didnt see the link the first time, do check out more then just the first page that loads as there's also two performance shots of Meat you might want to see! Bye! Jen S. |
sound
sound wasn't good but it was still a good performance
|
Anyone knows if I can see/download the 21.34 show?
Thanks Meat for the post :D |
it was a solid performance Meat, not your fault the sound went faulty and you had all the technical faults. I enjoyed it and you put on a great performance - wish id been there - nice to see the scarf/hanky back!although i am disapointed in channel 5s coverage. As far as I saw we got the whole CHSIB, a 3 minute Anything for Love and No bat (unless they played it later on in the show, does anyone know if they did?). We got your interview after as well.
A good mention should go out to WHEATUS who asked why the camera was on him and not meat loaf - said he was a fan! |
Sorry people I missed it. I forgot all about the show! Sounds like a great show. I hope I get to see the highlights of it!
Rock on Fireball |
3 words - ROCK ON FIREBALL :!:
|
:( Here in New Hampshire, I could only get the radio portion and did not hear anything of Meat's!! SIGH!!!

Heard that to......Like to hear it again though...
Ow well, was great to hear that |
I didnt hear that part...in that case they deserve a bigger thank you. They genuinly seemed confused why the camera was on them for an interview when meat was on stage performing. And talking about Wheatus, Because of you has the same intro as teenage dirtbag..im convinced!
|
Hi MEAT,
Thank you SO much for Plymouth!!!!!! It was incredible and so good to see you are well!!!!! Thank you again for the best concert on the world!!!!! Love you! :P Eva |
I did not see or hear any of this as I was playing over in Ireland this weekend but trust me peeps if your monitors are down you simply can not hear a word you are singing it is imposable it is simply in the lap of the gods and I don't care who you are or how good you are when your in that situation sometimes you make mistakes and it is no bearing what so ever on your self.
May be some people should try doing this job with a real LIVE band and see just how easy it is when things go tit's up and are out with your control Power to you Meat  Pete 8) P.S. for some People that might read this, this is not an Asslick OK :D |
Hi, Fire ball. As usual you Pattie and the band were perfect ,if anyone is to blame, blame is putting it mildly. We just couldnt hear a couple of your lines ,that in my opinion is down to the sound guy , definatley not you or the band .We love you Meat and always will, and the rest of the band and pattie ,You gave 110%as you always do .You know we would never ask for more than that.
we love you Fire ball best wishes Carol XXX |
Hey Meat,to anyone who has put you down over todays performance, all I have to say is,have you any idea what your talking about?Do you know what a microphone is?
There have been excuses made that you did a concert last night and that you have just had surgery, but the truth is that the volume on your mic was too low and there was too much echo. That is far beyond the control of any performer. You,Pattie and the band gave it everything as always. That's why we love you. ROCK ON FIRE BALL. |
Sorry to hear it was a frustrating experience Fire Ball. What little we could hear on the radio feed here sounded good, except your mike kept cutting out. Too bad they bolluxed things up so much. The crowd loved you. TV and radio did you and your fans an injustice.
Well, on to the rest of the tour...we will be cheering you on soon in WI, and then in IA. ROCK ON FIRE BALL! T |
I was disappointed .. well appalled actually .. that they cut your set. Thought you were on tremendous form and CHSIB went down a storm. I think there will be very few without an axe to grind who would think you had anything to apologise for .. what we saw was great, and the audience seemed to agree :) Loved the interviews on TV and radio .. my take .. they were bloody lucky to have you :)
|
I gues all I wanted to say has been said. So, I don't have to type that much
Only heard CHSIB and Anything, ofcourse. Nothing 'wrong' with that, expect for the few lines we just couldn't hear. Bottem line: yes indeed, they were bl**dy lucky to have you!!! Take care, Mariella |
Another point to mention is that most of the other acts (at least before Meat as we left straight after them) weren't playing totally live, whereas Meat was.
Some of the acts had no musicians on the stage and another had background vocals playing but nobody else on stage had a microphone! They also spent longer getting Meat set up (even having Mel C play a song on a different stage) whereas for the other acts, the instruments were just rolled out and the acts were on. Sue http://www.KasimInfo.com |
Alrighty, more Party in the Park photo links:
http://www.wireimage.com/GalleryList...2919&styp=clbi http://newsandsport.gettyimages.com/...?SubjectID=ACE OK with the second one, the direct link to their Party in the Park photos is just HUGE (i just pasted it in and its over 10 lines!), so instead, im just directing you to the page that you should be able to find the link to them on. Now there's no way for me to filter it down to just the Meat shots at this site, so do note there are over 12 pages on that site of PITP photos, so check out pretty much all of them, as Meat's throughout, even doing some stuff in the crowd shots of him and Prince Charles. But the performance shots of Meat and Patti are really nice as well! (no other band members alas :( !) OK if i find more, i'll let ya know! Jen S. |
You were great, Meat :D
Don't blame yourself/the band/crew for the technical difficulties  I thought you were great. And so was Patti and the rest of the group. If anyone is to blame, it's five  I agree, the post-performance interview was great. Just like when he was on PKAL when he bumped into poor Patrick Kielty, he was uncontrollable once more in front of the poor interviewees! On the other performances, it's nice to see Gareth Gates and Busted not miming for once  |
My brother just wrote to me:
Read a write-up on Party in the Park (Prince's trust pop festival) scathing of majority of artists who, together with their backing groups, simply mimed to tapes. One notable exception (it said) was Meatloaf who sang live and looked as if he meant what he was singing. Sounds to me like the kind of star they should NOT be pulling the plug on because he over-runs!! |
hey meat looks cute in them pictures, thanks for the link!
Rock on Fireball!!! |
Here's a link to the Party In The Park feedback page... if anyone would like to tell the organisers what they thought of the way Meat was treated: Where it says "My Message/Question is for" just enter "THE ORGANISERS!" http://www.capitalfm.com/webClient?guid=57930
OR even better, email Chris Tarrants show as he is a bit of a fan : -) Here's the link: http://www.capitalfm.com/webClient?guid=57017 |
Fire Ball,
Don't EVER say sorry to your fans. We love you. You have the power to make so many people happy Meat but take care of yourself as you have a hard tour ahead of you. God bles you. Madonna, xxx |
Nice Pictures, thx

pitp
all i can say to denise van who ? giving no respect to meat is will people
still pay to come and see her in 25years time and will her fans have web sites dedicated to her ? i dont think so meat has got that many loyal fans who love him and respect him for himself and who can tell when things are beyond his control that she is just obviously jelous all that needs saying to her is shout the hell up and get a life. because with an attitude like that she is soon going to be an has been. big momma meat thanks for the music and keep on rockin forever |
:D Well said Big momma!
Meat certainly has stood the test of time, a legend continuing to go from strength to strength! :x Unlike the two bit wonders that come along and last five minutes.(if that long  ) Rock on Fireball |
Did anyone catch the GMTV news this morning they were talking about PITP and they intervied about three stars back stage before their performance asking them how they kept calm before going on. They filmed Meat, it was only a brief 10sec shot and his reply was FOCUS, FOCUS, FOCUS.
He looked really GREAT! :D |
hehe wicked!! MEAT RULES!! ITS TRUE, ITS TRUE, ITS DAMN TRUE!!
|
Testify -
SURE DOES (rule that is!) SURE IS (true that is!) :D :D :D |
Hey,
Am new'ish to this web site but have been a Meat fan for over 10 years. Was thinking, do we really believe that "Fire Ball" is Meat himself???? Would be great but can't see it myself....... Nice chatting to all you Meat fans tho! Madonna. |
yes it is Meat, well i think so n e way.
just a quk question, why dont ppl believe its him? |
Madonna - Fireball is most definetely Meat Loaf :D
|
Fire Ball - you rocked man! I was at Plymouth (was a 4 hour drive from where I now live in London, though Devon is home) but worth every second of the 4 hours there and 4 hours back! It was an awesome gig - THANK YOU! I've never seen Plymouth so excited and so many people pack the Pavilions in all my life. Mega! :D
As for PITP - it's tosh, man. They used you for lots of publicity for it and then messed you around, performance-wise. It's full of little pop "stars" (using that term v v lightly!) who only mimed to tapes and did fancy dance routines! V easy to do that. What you did, performing live in that environment with no sound checks and all that mayhem takes a true artist. The only positive thing as far as I can see, is that you got to play to a much wider audience than you would normally have - families, young kids who like pop and not necessarily rock, and many who perhaps have never heard you before. Plus the TV coverage of a live concert for a wider audience. That can never do you harm. It's just the way it was all handled. But, what can you do? To hell with it - onwards and upwards! We love ya - you have SO much support out here and I know I speak for all the great people on here at least who can't wait to see you live in November and December. Plymouth has whetted my appetite... ROCK ON!!! |
Hey Testify,
I guess, people may not believe Fie Ball is Meat as much as I am Madonna.... I am just plain old Samanta ... Am massive fan of Meat but find it hard to believe he has time to go onto UK website and leave messages... but does not seem to do the same on the US International website??? God bless him if it is him tho!!! Sam. |
Hi Dottie,
What makes you so sure, would love to believe it is but how did it all come about???? Cheers, Sam. |
Madonna he has said in various interviews that it's him and he has said some things that only Meat himself would know.
Plus several members on here have met him (although not all ended up in a bed with him, Dottie :D ) so I'm sure they would have asked if it really is him. |
there are many topics throughout the board where this is debated, but its turned from a debate into a fact. To save you searching through all archives, Meat has told people he has met (fans) that hes fireball, he has arranged a meat and greet through the mlukfc (with R's help) and also said live on radio that he is fireball. There are so many examples but theres a few of the main ones.
|
and Madonna as i have said to other doubters before TRUST ME FIRE BALL IS MEAT i know that for a FACT!!!!! beleave me  no Doubt at all it is Deffo him 100%

 Hi Maddona.
Welcome to the forums :D . I think most people were a little sceptical at first. We've had a couple of false alarms in the past.It wasn't so long ago when we had a big ad campaign in the UK warning people that the people they talk to on line may not be what they appear.I'm sure with that taken into consideration,Meat won't have minded the initial doubt too much  . But that was a long time ago.Since Fire Ball joined there has been an overwhelming amount of proof that it really is Meat :D .He's told us things before they have happened, and a few of our members have met him and he has confirmed it in person. It is Meat. We're very lucky to have him here,no other artist I know takes the time to visit their fans like he does 8) . |
Quote:
How that happened? He came here, registered and started posting that's all. :)) |
Hehehe, R has a way off underdstating IMO.
We'll out off the mouth of meat himself: Yes they are regulars!! Like I said in another post, I believe it's him, no doubt here. Asha |
Hi all,
Thanks for so many replies to my question re is Fire Ball Meat. Will definately try to believe it is him and not an imposter or his publicist, maybe one day I could grill Fire Ball on PM ... lol Meat was great in Party In The Park, shame about the sound system as was hard to hear him but could tell he was giving it 150% Can't wait to see him again in November. God bless ya Meat and maybe Fire Ball (but if you are an imposter  )[/quote][/b] |

Hi Big Momma,
Am going to have a look at some archives now I think!!! Am listening to Meats Storytellers Album at mo, so have good music to surf to! Take care, Madonna. |

Born in 1947, he'll be 56 in September.. but still, and always young at heart :)
|
He looks younger than that. It's hard to be believe he's 55. He's got so much energy, it's fantastic! Nice to know he's still going though.

Quote:
but like you say, always young at heart! :D |
He acts like he's 21  .
I hope i've got that much energy when i'm his age. |
Yes I read that too :) .. but like Meat you can believe what makes you happy eh? :)
|
i give up!!
|
hey meat you was grate you did better than any one would have ur the best
|
I taped those wonderful 15 mins (including interview:)), and, on watching them again, I noticed that, if I listened really carefully, I could still hear you singing even with the mike being ~~~~~~ed  . Has ne1 else tried that? You've got to listen real hard, but I swear down there's sound there!
I was actually relieved u were on early, I couldn't take much more of having to listen to all the others miming! So, Charlie was disappointed to have missed seeing you perform?! I think they should have made him turn up at 12 and sit there for the whole 8 hours :D ! I've got 0 against him, it just would have been funny! To hell with the presenters, and that poser from blue. good presenters wouldn't say what they said, they're lucky I wasn't there! But yes, credit to wheatus, I definitely got 0 against them now! :) Can't wait for Newcastle! Lots of love and take care: Nwcstle's a long way away yet! Catherine XXX PS: Hi Lucy!! :D |
Welcome,Catherine!
Fireball,I don't care how old you are.I'm sure you could kick the butt of any of the young dudes in the bussiness now on stage. |
All that matters is that you did the best that you could. You can't help that some people don't appreciate you like we do
KEEP ON ROCKIN' Maria |
Quote:
As for the circus that was PitP..well..i just watched it, and i have to say i'm disgusted with the way Meat was treated. I don't think that Denise Van whatever and the other so called presenters have ever heard of the word RESPECT. I think Meat was treated appalingly, not only in the interview - you could tell our Fire Ball was getting pissed off with them  - but also when he was doing his set - the people in charge of the monitors and sound should be shot. I volunteer to do the shooting :P All credit must go to Meat though, for singing his heart out, as always. Guess he showed a few people how it should be done :D |
Well, so far they HAVE featured BOOH in the highlights programme .. but one that was subjected to just about the clumsiest edit I have ever seen and heard, as they cut from the end of the second verse to the final minute or so .. an edit which was like a sudden slap round the face with a wet cod and left me open outhed in amazement!
But I do believe we got to see the whole of little Gareth and his cover of that fresh new song Spirit in the Sky!! .. siiiigh ... |
Why are there so many PITP topics?????
|
The first topic was locked.
As people were incorrectly saying that Channel 5 had edited out a lot of AFL and they hadn't (other than some booing when Meat started to sing and then didn't) and I wanted to correct that, I started another thread - PITP Details it's called. The next day Meat Loaf started another thread (this one)....and nobody wanted to lock that one! Sue http://www.KasimInfo.com |

Thank you for explaining!!!

I went to see the gig in Plymouth. It was two hours of sheer ectasy. Non-stop singing, non-stop Meat. I went around the back to see you leave and I couldn't believe that people were moaning because you didn't take time to talk to us. There was a police escort waiting for you to go and catch a plane to London, and after signing and giving it your all for two hours I would have thought they would have had the decency to respect the fact that after your performance you just couldn't give anymore. Thank you Meat for a show that was second to none. Love the new album. Please can you find another date to finish in Plymouth?? Just keep going Meat, we need real singers around.
|
Meat is a REAL performer. All the other groups do is mime and do a Stupid Dance.
Big thing is in 20 years people will still listen to Meat. In 20 Years people will probably be saying "Gareth who?" |
This evening there was a Dutch radio program that played songs from PitP. Ofcourse we requested Meat. I started listening 15 mins. 'too late' I didn't hear any Meat song, just the **** I heard at the UK-radio station for days.
I believe they, eventually did play Anything UK-radio (ofcourse when I wasn't listening) but if anyone from Holland did hear the whole show this evening, I would like to know if they played Meat! Thank you, Mariella |
My god, see that i missed something again. Well, i agree with Mariella, i would love to know that too, and if anyone has taped it, that would be nice also....
The Butcher. |
I missed it too... I totally forgot! Damn... but I bet my request was ignored too :(
|
I watched Meat sing for the first time Bat out of Hell - Party in the Park - VH1 - wow what a performance so raw, energised, and so full of soul. Worth the wait!
|
:D I'm with you Dottie, ( would quote, but still can't get the hang of it  )
He was brilliant.......no he was better than brilliant. Certainly woke the crowd, they went wild! :D |
