MEAT LOAF ON LOPEZ TONIGHT : 19TH APRIL

Meat's going to be on Lopez Tonight tonight (19th April).
Should be very interesting to hear what he has to say about Celebrity Apprentice and Gary :-)

Is this a new episode or is it a repeat? It seems to me I remember he was on The Lopez show b4

It's a new episode Cathy ... he's not the musical guest this time.

But now I've seen a couple of other places where Gary Busey, not Meat, is going to be interviewed on the show tonight. I would assume the official website for Lopez Tonight is the one that's correct  ... but I'm watching it just in case.

Steve6 19 Apr 2011 22:46

He and Gary aren't enemies or anything they had a fight, but all is forgiven. Poor Gary :(

I'm sure both of them wished the media would stop talking about it now.

carole 19 Apr 2011 22:51

Well at least it's an opportunity for Meat to give his version of what happened. The truth, not the lies Gary's been spouting.

To be fair Gary hasn't being spouting any lies. People can see everything that happened by looking into their TV sets. Gary suffered brain damage from an accident and everyone knows it affected him, and his behaviour. People need to be more understanding of his difficulties.

Unlike Busey, Meat is more likely not to try and big himself up and prevaricate about others as he, Busey, has been doing. I haven't watched all the shows B has been on, but I'll bet he's failed to talk about the number of times he's sat in that boardroom and just flatly denied saying things we've all witnessed during the show ..

But do lets be fair. I mean they were televised for heavens sake, he must know the cameras were rolling throughout? .. and yet ten minutes later we hear him denying them .. Amazing, but that alone would make me clear whose version of events I believe ..

So we all do that Caryl. Gary was in a very serious motorbike accident and you have to understand what happened to him? Anyone who knows Gary would actually feel sorry for him. But on here it's all anti-Gary cause Meat misplaced a bag which was all his own fault. Honestly people need to leave the man alone on here. I like Gary and if anything I feel sorry for him.

Sorry, I don't agree. Yes all one has to do his open their eyes and look @ what is going on. I suggest that you take your blinders off and truly look & listen to it ALL. And not just hear Gary's side of it, and buy into the poor Gary act
Gary Busey uses his brain injury to attempt to gain public sympathy for his behavior and make excuses for himself. He has proven on C.A. that he can in fact stay focused when it suites his own needs. Then when he doesn't get his way, he pulls the "crazy" crap.
John Rich had Busey's number on Celebrity Apprentice, when he called him a saboteur. Gary Busey is a self-absorbed, manipulative, liar. It is fact that he has lied in interviews. Even his own teammates have acknowledged that he was been less than truthful. He uses his injury as a ploy to manipulate people. I am not buying into it. I can see exactly what is going on.
That is my opinion. You can atack me all you want, and I know you will. I am not going to waste time or words debating someone who chooses to be so ignorant of certain facts. I have said what I felt needed to be said and that is it!

Meh, I'm not a Gary hater Steve6, I'm just refusing to place blame until I hear the entire story. Since I'm a diehard Meat fan, I do admit that I tend to automatically side with him, but I'm open to hearing the whole story if it ever were to emerge.

Or maybe instead of a “I think this thread is done & pointless as it is waaaay off topic now” button, it could be "Moderation required"???

Mel, that is the best post of this whole thread. i agree that it is waaay off topic and needs to be moderated. Best post of this thread? When Vicki kindly first posted in an effort to inform others that Meat was going to be on Lopez tonight.

Steve 6 I did not misplace a bag , Read my Lips, Gary did take the paints. I said I was very wrong for yelling but he did take the paints. head injuries
I've had 17 concussions and a fractured skull.

I'm really excited for seeing him on the show tonight! Hopefully we'll get some news on the new album :-P

Thanks Matt, I really appreciate it. I'm just happy to help :-)

It was a great interview ... Meat was totally relaxed, funny and clearly enjoying himself the entire time. I loved his story about Dancing With The Stars  He was extremely gracious when the subject came up about Gary ... he clearly regrets what happened, and I like how they've all managed to stay friends.

Meat .. I can't wait to hear the new song .... Standing In The Storm ! It definitely sounds like it's going to be great :)) And I hope you can put it on Itunes so everyone can download it and support the charities for you, John Rich, Lil Jon and Mark. If you ever decide to run for President, you got my vote :-)

Edit : I forgot to post this before. Here's a direct link to the video that I posted on my personal website :

And another vote from me. I think John Rich would make a great V.P. with Lil Jon and Mark McGrath as cabinet memebers or advisors. Since George Lopez started it all, he could be the campaign manager. Meat for President!!!!!

Thank you

Explicit Sinz 20 Apr 2011 09:45

Exhaustive thread... *sigh*

Ok I admit I slept thru the Lopez thing, but Vicki saved my butt again with the vid ( Thanx Vicki !) LOVED IT! Very positive, very upbeat! Loved the the preview of Standing in the Storm, and soooooo looking forward to its release!
Loved the fact that despite "other issues" Meat could turn it around with grace AGAIN. Loved the cinematic "blow by blow" reference! LOVED the teaser about being "upstaged when I win".... Loved the satirical finish regarding a Presidential Bid (so many places this go... "Chicken in every pot? HELLno.... MEAT LOAF!!" etc) In short, This Lopez clip was a delightful trip and GREAT damage control!

Anything else that was approached in this Thread was unfortunate.... I could really go on about THAT all day and I won't because Caryl, Vicki, Suzie, Boston Angel and a few others already know EXACTLY what I think ;) and that I can be less than forgiving or Kind... I am soooooo tired of people standing in the barn door STILL yelling about the horse that got out two weeks ago, with assumptions and uptakes.. you werent there, you didnt have to deal with it yourself, so walk a mile in the shoes before you go waving an empty halter around with blame...

BUT

Note to Andy: Unless Ive missed it, could I suggest a VEGETARIAN SECTION where those who aren't feeling like Meat Loaf could go and serve up MEDIA MASH or BEAN SPROUT BS without injecting it into any and every unrelated thread for the rest of us who prefer our carnivorous diet well peppered with protein?

Jayd 20 Apr 2011 10:16

Meat for president :cheer:, not that it matters to us in UK lol, maybe he could come here, and teach Cameron and Clegg a thing or two :D

robgomm 20 Apr 2011 10:40

That was a brilliant interview. Meat if you get to be president don't forget us! That was really great show, I don't know how popular Lopez is but I hope lots of people got to see that.

carole 20 Apr 2011 10:59

Thanks for the link Vicki. Meat that was a great interview. You are a very gracious, genuine and kind man and showed a lot of class. Not criticising Gary despite what he's been saying in his interviews. It takes a big man to do that. One of the reasons I am very proud to be a fan of yours. You showed great humour in describing the 'incident' and were very entertaining. I really like the sound of putting that song in itunes to raise money for all your charities, that is a great idea. And I'd vote for you too, but I'm not a US citizen!!!

Final reminder.

This thread is for talk about the Lopez appearance, please stay on topic, otherwise we run the risk of people like Vicki who are good enough to post this news not posting any news, and then we'll have nothing to talk about!

If someone else has strayed off topic already, do NOT take that as an indication that you can stray, that will only lead to more posts, or parts of posts being removed. Thanks.

CarylB 20 Apr 2011 11:22

Yes, I have to thank Vicki for the opportunity to see this.

Meat handled the Busey issue with such grace and humour, and WITHOUT saying anything negative about Busey. His rundown of every sports personality and actor he'd got each "move" from was brilliant, as was his emphasis that they were all still friends. What a contrast. It was handled with all the class and style we expect from Meat .. and the audience loved it.

Not sure he'd have the time to run for President though, with all his work .. and his responsibilities as President of his own Republic where he's been a Leader for over 10 years

Caryl

Wario 20 Apr 2011 12:03

Great interview. next meat should go on leno :))

JennaG 20 Apr 2011 13:06

I really enjoyed the interview (thanks Vicki) and thought Meat handled the issue of the conflict with Gary very well. He didn't try to pin the blame on anyone or resort to calling anybody names. I thought he was very gracious.

On my response to the video when it was posted on Facebook I mentioned that there was something that Lopez said that really stood out to me and that was:
'Millions of people love you all over the world. You have a lot of heart'.
I believe that one of the reasons he is so loved is because he has such a big heart. It's one thing to be loved for being talented but to be loved by millions because of the person you are is pretty special. I think it's one of many reasons why his fans are so loyal to him and will support him through the bad times as well as the good.

I can't wait to hear the new song and hope it's available internationally on iTunes.

robgomm 20 Apr 2011 14:47

Hey guys I also meant to say I really do love the jackets Meat is wearing these days, he is so cool! Does anyone know where he gets his jackets? I loved the one he wore on lopez.

Most of them he had made by the designer for Popstar to Operastar. Try Cressida Lewis or Chris Kerr in Berwick Street .. if cost is no object ;)

I'm a little late to the party I know, but just wanted to get my $.02 in....I really liked last night's Lopez interview. As I stated on the Omaha Steaks thread, I like the "high road" Meat exemplifies talking to the press/media. Keeping things candid, sincere and truthful. I was glad to see Lopez touched on the fact that Meat must be getting tired of people asking him about the "episode" because Meat again, showed patience and added humour.

That interview was chock full of great information....like the upcoming movie Beautiful Boy, a taste of Standing In the Storm, and Meat's bed front dance to his wife. (I couldn't help it...I found it interesting...smirks to self).

Meat for president?.....Only if we get an invitation to the inaugural ball! lol

Great job Meat, keep that smile going it's very contagious.

Steve the running for president thing isn't as serious
as you may think. Don't overthink things too much we're just having fun at the initial thought. Per previous interviews, he is registered Republican....but has previously voted independent. Guess all you like...and have a ball.

If he was to run for president, he wouldn't be able to go with the name Meat Loaf. He'd have to revert back to his name Marvin Lee Aday. It's more official than President Loaf.

I know the whole president thing is a joke. Sure what would meet know about politics anyway. His opening line in Everything Louder is:

"I know that I will never be politically correct".

Because we know what he sings is absolutely true.....he also sings a little song about California that I would suspect to be truthful as well. ;)

If California isn't big enough, why not the whole US?!?

Well what exactly do Presidents do? Everything and anything, but never in great detail, because they have people around them to do that. If you are a good speaker, and good at debates you'll go far. Meat would be good at this in my opinion.

Or use his legal name, Michael Lee Aday ...

Meat's pretty wise imo and keeps his politics to himself. Hasn't he indicated he disapproves of "celebrities" pushing their political views in public? I thought so. Also thought you'd be the first to identify that the words to Everything Louder were written by Jim Steinman. Meat was the actor/singer who made them come alive on an album :-)

Just because he said it in a song, doesn't make it true and besides Jim Stienman wrote 'Everything Louder'.

Meat seems like an intelligent man and I'd be quite surprised if he didn't know anything about politics. A lot of people prefer to keep their political opinions to themselves as it can cause conflict and I imagine this is what Meat prefers to do.

As to whether he'd make a good President or not, I don't know. Sometimes people get voted in because people think they'd be good and then when they come into power it turns out that they're not. Meat's a good singer and actor, he's proven himself in that field, I can't see him wanting to give that up.

Hay, i think if you could humor an Austrian-Bodybuilder/Actionstar/Governor, A Rebellious Commander in chief doesn't seem that ridiculous

He's not been Marvin Lee Aday for years. I heard that he had it changed legally in 1985 which means that Michael is his real and legal name.

When I first read that post it looked like you said his name was MICHELE. ;)
Then again it is early and my brain hasn't woken up yet :D

Political Correctness has nothing to do with having a knowledge of politics, it actually means using avoiding language or actions which may offend others.
