Hi all,

Have a get well card here for Meat, Mousie has passed it on to me, and if anyone else wants to sign it, please PM me with your address so i can send it on to you.

I know there is an online get well card, and thats great, but there's nothing like the personal touch :D

I'd love to participate in the hand-written card as well, but I'm in the Netherlands, Like Mariella. And I'm afraid I would slow things down for weeks. :cry:

The easiest way to do it is to post here,then PM the previous poster with your address.

If we get a half decent chain,this could be a good thing to continue in the future for Meat's birthdays and Christmas :D .In the future,we could do this with a lot more time to spare,meaning that we could send the card abroad to be signed by our foreign friends :idea: .

I like the thought of doing this for his birthday and Christmas. I would do something with a get well card but unfortunately by the time he got it he would already be back on the road. (And I've posted to various message boards already.) I would love to start one here in the US for his birthday. If anyone's interested in this let me know and I can get one going. Since it's in September we have plenty of time to deal with the mail service.

That's great Sherrie. I'll get a card this weekend and we can get this thing started. I'll send an email out to the ROL list (it's just about the only one I'm on anymore) and the OIFC list but for anyone reading and posting here this is NOT exclusively for those on these lists. ANYONE can sign and pass it on. Meat's fans span the globe but just due to the mail time factor I would like this one to stick to those in the US because we can get more to sign it that way. Maybe someone could get one going over in the UK and Europe too. We just have to get a list of people going to get the project going. For anyone who would like to contact me further please PM me and we can go from there.

As far as getting it to him, he's going to be in Clarkston, MI the night of his b-day, I think. I'm going to the July 23rd concert in Denver but no matter what, we will find some way to get it to him. Come hell or high water, we'll get to him. (I just haven't gotten that far yet.) :D

The card at the moment will go from Englant,to Holland,to Germany,then finally to the US.
But that is by no means the complete order.
As I said before,the US is the logical place for the cards last stop as it must eventually go there anyway.

Hi JC.
I can certainly understand you're parents decision not to allow you to give you're address out on the web.After all,not so long ago there was a big ad campaign by the government warning that people on the internet may not be who they say they are.
An alternative to giving you're own address out is to ask you're local newspaper shop if they would be willing to accept a piece of mail for you.That way you still get to join in without giving any personal details out.
Just a thought :idea: .

Ok, its Saturday and still nothing. I've checked with the Post Office and they haven't got it, sometimes they hold it if there was a problem.

It's not looking good is it :cry: .
I was going to sugest that everyone send the card next day registerd mail.Cards sent registerd delivery are tracked by the post office every step of the way so it's virtually impossible for it to get lost.Also it gets around a lot faster.
I was a bit late in the day sending the card to Heat so I sent it next day registerd delivery.I was charged £4.05.I thought this was a bit steep,especially since we have quite a few younger members.I wouldn't want a large postal charge from preventing anybody signing :( .
I have left a few tips on postage on the new card topic to bring the risk of loss to a minimum.
Although it will not be insisted on as a condition of signing the card,i'm sure it would be very much appreciated by everybody signing the card if as many people as possible can send the card registerd next day delivery.

It's an unfortunate reality that mail sometimes just gets lost in the post :( .Once it's posted you have absoloutly no control over it.
I've left a couple of pointers on mailing the cards on the new list to get the risk of loss to a minimum.
I'm not saying that you didn't do any of these things :wink: , it's just a couple of things that could be easily overlooked.
Hopefully we'll have more luck with this one.
An internatinol card is an exciting thought.It's just never been done before.
