Meat Loaf Fan Recording Project Version 2.0

So, since the last time this happened, for whatever reason, it died, i wasn't here so I don't know why. But looking through the old thread, I found a bunch of interesting stuff, so why not start a new thread?

So post your fan recordings here. If anyone needs backing tracks, I can probably whip something up, and any collaborations would be awesome.

have fun doodz

An awesome thread to start man. If anyones is looking to sing a duet with yours truly I'm up for anything baby. Backing tracks would be gold if I could get any. All I want now is to hear the Loafers sing!!!!!!! heeehaw!!!!

OK, you and Wario can do "Loving You's a Dirty Job but Somebody's Gotta Do It"

You need a male and female for that. But I do sound a bit like Todd Rundgren (we have similar vocals) so I will collaborate with someone on that song. ;)

What song are you going to sing Dave? I'd love to hear your take on "Modern Girl" or "Clap your hands" if you'd be so kind. haha

PMPL ! I can't sing to save my life, on guitar hero, it comes on the screen, please stop trying to strangle the cat;) LOL..

Steve6 09 Sep 2010 14:10

:lmao: @ at the last three comments on this thread. I'm a well toned male specimen so I'm not the butch one Pud. I think Pud, 24K and Daveake should get together and record their version of "Nowhere Fast". I've always tried to imagine Pudding singing, but it normally ended with me breaking out in a cold sweat. If you can't sing don't worry about it at least it will give everyone a laugh.

Wario 09 Sep 2010 17:11

Ill do:

Who is the leader of the people
and I think my Los Angelsoer will work great

Steve6 09 Sep 2010 17:23

Post them to the thread like a good poll dancer :)

I'll do Paradise by the Dashboard light with some beautiful lady on this forum. I just hope it doesn't turn into Paradise by the thrashboard :shit:

:lmao: I'm with you 24K. I suck at singing. Rock Band/Guitar Hero sure is fun though and I don't mind making an :moon: of myself while playing. Though, I can play the part of a menacing tree in a video, that is, if anyone needs a tree.

24K 09 Sep 2010 18:24

Have just started to play on Guitar Hero again, Jake never liked the noise and us prancing around like tw@ts:shock:;)
Hubby is really good at the drums, i am shite ! I am canny on guitar though, although annoyingly hubby is better!
I wish there was a Meat Loaf game ! Can you imagine how awesome that would be and playing guitar to all the superb heavy guitar based songs the list is endless !
Playing a tree, TFF !;)

I think we need to kick our Genies in the ass because I wish the same. At this point I don't care if it's on one of those "plug and play" versions. I think it would be a great time regardless.

By the time Guitar Hero/Rock Band recognize Meat's work on their systems....we'll be in a old folks care facility. Hmmmm....who do I know in the gaming industry? :sherlock:

But back on topic, looks like you made the audition and are being cast as the next Patti ;) Great job, always a leading lady ;)

You have a nice voice Sarah, and considering how tricky both songs are to sing you done a great job. Well done :D

robgomm 10 Sep 2010 00:23

I'd like to do frying pan but i can't find a backing track anywhere. I'm told i'm a good singer and i've recorded for crying out loud before.

would be interested in lost boys and golden girls, if there's a good backing track or maybe a home recording with just accoustic guitars for instance. Can't play that song on guitar though. ;)

He just sang over the Meat version. If you listen, you can hear Meat in the background. You can tell by the mic moving around all over the shop lol

robgomm 10 Sep 2010 13:43

Arr okay. I've found a program to do my own backing tracks.

It's just so hard to get backing tracks. I would have covered all of Meat's song by now . There is a free program called audicity which you can create backing tracks with, but I don't think it creates good ones in my opinion. I haven't used it in a while but you can put "Bat Out Of Hell" on it and remove the vocals..it really doesn't do a good job does anyone know a better way?

The only people that have a catalogue of Meat Loaf backing tracks are daveake, samurai, and DT. They are the only people I know of.

Not if you are wanting to make a top of the range cover. The karaoke sound destroys the song it makes a rock song sound pop if you get me. To me the real deal is the exact same sound as the record without the lead vocals.

I tried taking out the vocals on "BOOH" with audacity and it sucked. Meat still came across loud and clear... a bit distorted alright. You could use a MIDI I suppose.

Wario 10 Sep 2010 19:55

Heres my Los Angeloser/Who Is The leader thing:

http://kiwi6.com/file?id=gv27624ziy

I have re-recorded bits on LA (like the speech in the middle I omitted on YT).

Original LA:

Cult Of Byron 10 Sep 2010 20:43

I've been working on a version of Only When I Feel for about ...erm... five years now  so this would be a good project for me if it takes shape!

I was going to do this and Lost Boys... with a piano playing friend of mine, for the last Nothing But A Merciless Night compilation, but he didn't pull his finger out in time and we missed the boat.

On another issue, I have some rather tasty music software on my PC so if anyone wants a midi beefed up for backing track usage, let me know ;)

Edit: Just listened to Wario's LA, that was a lot of fun!

If you lot are serious about recording something I know a sound engineer that'll record/mix any SERIOUS efforts

Wario 11 Sep 2010 03:44

Wario's sad

Steve6 11 Sep 2010 04:17

Wario I will download your file in the morning; it's a bit late to have you blasting out of the speakers ;-) I may also have a look at Zodiacs.

Monstro that's excellent news. I'll keep that option open, and I'm sure some people will need more editing than others. I may see will Pudding duet with me on "It Just won't quit" and where is that partner for Paradise I requested??

I think we may have a problem....hmmm. Can you use any sound editing software? Is it possible to sing it live over the Internet, and have it recorded? In this day and age with all the technology I'm sure it's possible.

Steve6 12 Sep 2010 01:00

Skype it is, but my skype won't open. I tried recording my own own version of "Masculine" today with a new opening but I'm not happy with it so I've stopped recording. I'm also planning on doing "Paradise" with MLUKFC''s very own amethyst. :D

I've tried making a backing track of Los Angeloser with audicity and it's sucks big time, and not only that I can't open up a karaoke of Paradise I was sent. So I can't record my vocal. errr I'm so frustrated, but give me time. This thread is awesome, and there's a lot of talent on MLUKFC from what I've heard so far. Keep it up people.

Erm, not at all! Have you heard this?

Also, since I've just reacquainted myself with the Joe's Pub version of OWIF, I'm going to do two versions - the Hair of the Dog version (with bitchin' intro guitars :D) and the aforementioned Joe's Pub version (which has a very different piano part.)

I'm guessing you could take either the MSO or 3 Bats DVD, rip the 5.1 audio track and then edit Meat's vocals out of the centre channel, but it's a lot of work.

I've got those mp3's so I could probably do that. Not sure how well audacity would work with live songs though.

I tend to use Goldwave, which is similar to audacity in its functionality and its freeness ;)

Although it'll be of no more help in actually 'creating' backing tracks short of having access to the masters...

Not bad mate, i like the original take on it with acoustic guitar.

robgomm 08 Oct 2010 16:33

So i emailed Paris music about doing some songs off the new album, song of madness etc. And the guy said they have no plans to make them available. But he did say he would do a custom job for me if i wanted. Now please bear in mind that all of his other decent well produced backing tracks are £10. How much did he quote me to make song of madness? 230 f***ing pounds!

So that's the end of that I guess.

i think they're only expecting to make one, given the fact it is an album track from what would apparently be very much an unknown album but it is a huge amount to consider paying.

robgomm 08 Oct 2010 17:34

It's a good point if they're thinking not many people will buy the track. But still £230 is obscene. I was expecting him to say something like £30 for a once off, so i was amazed.

Wario 11 Oct 2010 05:48

my god they charge the person costumizing it that much cause it takes labor to make. hope else will paris music make money? They sell the track for 10 pounds because if its downloaded 30 times they get their money back plus profit.

Though 230 is kinda steep.

Never spend more then 200.

Wario 11 Oct 2010 08:27

Amnesty Is Granted

Put the Amnetsy Track I got made and just sat and sang.

I couldn't find my mic nor my mic clip, so I had to improvise. I rolled up a paper ball and got a big sharpie mark and wrapped that and taped it up in paper. Then I taped them together then taped them to the mic stand. Hope its not too distracting....

Hope this one is good:

Absolutely brilliant - it's like a bizarre combination of Ask Elvis and Tim Curry's Frank N Furter. Everyone on X Factor should be made to watch this as a demonstration of how to perform a song.

Because when some people clicked on it it came up with the message that the video had been set to private and you had to accept a friend request to view it. That was either an error or you want to increase your youtube "fancount", either way if you want it on this site it has to be set to public.

Oh. it was a mistake. I just forgot to unset it to private which happens when you upload directly from Final Cut.....

Wario, you have to keep in mind that Eddie is a badass biker, who rides an old military Harley-Davidson. Would be cool if you tried to be more authentic and adjust your style of singing to the character. ;)

You definitely have acting and entertainer skills as well as passion for what you do. :D:up: Very good but you often sound more like an Elvis impersonator than like Meat Loaf. ;)

Wario 17 Oct 2010 07:51

you could argue Meat sometimes sounded like him too back in the late 80s.

Wario, I think you're nuts and you've got huge balls to do what you do in front of people. You're hugley entertaining. Can't not smile watching you.
