Meat will probaly have a role in Bat Out Of Hell:The musical.. if and when it's released. That's if the powers that be give him a role.

 A. I can't see Meat being allowed anywhere near it (wasn't it a condition of the Bat III court case?) and ..........

B. I think Jesus Christ will be at the West End before Bat.
And i'm not talking Jesus Christ Superstar, i'm talking about the second coming of Christ coming back, suiting up in cat fur, learning to tap dance, and creating a sensation around the role of Mr Misophelies (or however the hell you spell it).

The court case was about the title and the songs. But from what I know the option of having Meat Loaf involved in the musical is still open. I mean think about it everyone associates the Bat Out of Hell title with Meat Loaf not Jim Steinman. Meat Loaf being involved in some way can only help the project. But the future isn't looking bright the likelihood of this musical seeing the light of day is slim.

If Jesus came back like that he'd be giving people another reason to crucify him

Promotion only if that. Meats voice and health couldn't sustain 8 shows a week. He'd be like a tampax, 1 week in and 3 weeks out.

Jim sued Meat for the title of BOOH. Its a touchy subject and not one we should get into at this time. Its history. ;)

That's the only one I know about unless you know another one that we don't.

There was a court case where Cleveland records sued someone for not putting their logo on the Bat 1 record, and not getting royalties that were due to them. Is that the one you're talking about?

The Cleveland one? you mean the one that had NOTHING to do with Jim and Meat, but with Steve Popovich versus Sony, and the one that had NOTHING to do with Bat3 but with Bat1? Because if we're randomnly throwing in court cases then why not add Jim Steinman versus Iron Mountain for losing some of his master tapes

I know it had nothing to do with Jim and Meat, but it was "Bat Out of Hell" related, and I did say Bat 1 not Bat 3. We all heard about it, and I thought it was the one Eddie meant. There isn't anything random about it.

Iron Maiden lost Jim's master tapes!!!...do tell me more. Not on this thread because we'll be going off topic.

I know and I can't tell the difference most of the time, it derails me from the track a lot. :bicker:

I don't think Meat will ever do another musical again, not a major one anyway. As Pudding said below 8 shows a week would be to much for him now. But one thing he could do instead is plays!!!! but they probaly aren't exciting enough for him or us fans.

Imagine thread after thread discussing shakespeare?? :|

Maybe not on stage, but what about film? Wasn't Chitty Chitty Bang Bang going to be remade? Meat Loaf as Baron Bomburst????

I've heard nothing about it anyway. Maybe in the distant but near future he'd make a great Bomburst though. He would also make a good Mr Bumble in Oliver Twist, but I think the cockney accent would be to difficult for a man from Texas ;)

A big difference in possibly and actually. :-).

Pudding 11 Sep 2010 02:21

A big difference in thinking what someone has possibly written and what they've actually written.

Wasn't Chitty Chitty Bang Bang going to be remade? - that was a question and not stated as actual fact that it is definitely being made.

That's a fair enough point Pudding, I'll keep my ears and eyes open for more info on it. What musical would you like to see him doing? Would you have given him a part in DOTV? and would you give him a part in the Bat musical?

Steve6 11 Sep 2010 02:47

But Pudding what if chitty chitty bang bang doesn't come to fruition? I will agree with you though... what could you have cast him as in DOTV. I think if it was possible he should get a part in the Bat musical...maybe as Hook?? It will only help if he was involved. More tickets would sell and that means a bigger success.

FFS you're starting to piss me off now with your stupidity. You asked a question, I gave an answer. Chitty is established as a stage musical, just like TdV, DOTV tanked. The Bat musical isn't coming to fruition anytime soon. If you're talking film musicals specifically, then why mention DOTV or the Bat musical you f*cking dolt?

I asked WOULD you have given him a part in DOTV is all, and I put forward the suggestion of giving him a role in the Bat musical because IMO it's the right thing to do. Jeez man chill!!!

It's doesn't look like chitty chitty is coming to fruition anytime soon either. Any other idea of what you'd like to see him doing?

Yes and No. Johnny Depp would be great but Dick Van Dyke? a sympathy casting at best.
