You should be able to watch Meat's performance on the official website here sometime tomorrow :

fred2010 18 Aug 2010 05:41

lopez has got to be the boringest damn show

wish they had meat on at the start so i wouldn't have to sit through the whole damn show

Dave 18 Aug 2010 06:00

Los Angeloser.... *shocker*

Bat3rocks 18 Aug 2010 06:04

Just not good enough. . . Sorry was not happy with it. He needs to get away from that song

Sarge 18 Aug 2010 06:06

Los Angeloser? Really? Noooooooo... I'm abandoning all hope.

*clicking the Wolfmother video on lopeztonight.com again*

fred2010 18 Aug 2010 06:07

lopez gave him a pretty good plug for the tour, but yeah, "los angeloser" is feeling old and worn out already....

Vickip 18 Aug 2010 06:17

I thought it was very good :-) Once Meat got going, he seemed more relaxed and comfortable with
it then he did on both QVC and Huckabee. The audience was getting into it too.

It's not feeling old and worn out to me
And it was still great seeing him on tv, getting publicity for the tour and the CD !

suzieq 18 Aug 2010 06:21

IMO: 3 times Los Angeloser has been televised and each time it is getting more dynamic. I noticed stronger music presence than QVC and Huckabee....in fact there were bongo type drums, some cow bell type thing being struck, and of course the NLE. Meat's vocals got stronger as the sound seemed to fill my living room. And I note the spoken part had much more patience/timeliness probably due to several live performances to hone in on his delivery of it. CC gave him the thumbs up at the end of the song. Lopez was able to give Meat some talk time. There was a little dance going on at the end of the show. Personally, I haven't grown tired of Los Angeloser. I liked this performance very much!

Not happy its LA Again but its the best LA we have officially gotten. great Job Meat. You just show that stage charisma is more important then hitting the right note. Thats why you're the greatest.

:-)

Sarge 18 Aug 2010 07:00

The quality of the video is too bad to judge the performance, yet it appears as if it was better than on QVC and Huckabee. Don't understand whey they didn't take the chance to pick another song this time though. Los Angeloser does not represent the album very well, in my opinion.

Its still processing. Audio should improve.

I see, thanks.

Fire Ball 18 Aug 2010 07:11

Well , I really liked it thought it rocked , we changed the feel and it's the only song we had we could make a 3min 15 sec . version and make sense. I have gone flat on the word valley the other times we have done , it was right on tonite. we all like it. If you didn't, don't watch it again. "Doctor it hurts everytime I do this" doctor says "well stop doing that".

Yeah, why not have an hour block on like VH1 of you just performing songs from HCTB like you did In The neighborhood in 1996 or History of Meat Loaf Live for VH1?

Thatd be sick ass.

Man I dunno why you say the fat lady will sing after this year's 33 shows. Because since you've been doing live shows, your voice sounds hotter than I've heard it in 33 years :D I think more talk shows is a must, this show was the best HCTB plug yet i think. It just worked really well and I love what you said about the band. Of the youtubes i've seen so far, this is the best live show you've done in a long time. It stands out. 99% of people say your show was the best they've seen. Why not continue the tour at your own pace, without burning out, and give people the chance to see it and feel good that your putting on a show that everyone thinks is exhilarating to watch?

The video is better now, obviously it was much rockier and more relaxed this time. Unfortunately the audio of the clip is still not very good, you can't hear some of the instruments and Meat's vocals properly. Will wait for the official video on the Lopez website.

Hey Meat, i've heard a lot of the youtube clips. Just heard this one.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-reHC14UaSY

Your voice is much better than any 05, 06, 07, or 08 show that I heard. It sounds like its in better shape than its been since 2003-2004 but it doesn't break as much. And you seem much more in control of each song. How did you manage that :P its amazing even from a 22 year olds perspective. ;)

I agree again, but then when I get sick and I cancel. I get, we spent all this money to get there and he didn't play. When I do go on sick(like amsterdam in on 07, with 4, count them 4 doctors in the dressing room telling me 15 mins before the show that I am in no condition to go on stage but I do so as to not to let the people down. Then the show is just awful and the people say oh it's over for him I can't believe I spent money on that. Meat loaf sucks. Then I went back and got sick the morning of the show and another bad show. Now I can't go play in holland because the promoters won't bring me in to play. With my weakness being my chest and lungs. I can't take giving so much grief to so many people. Much less myself. Yes, the 13 shows we have done this summer have been the best we have done since early 1993. The show and band are perfect. I am much better as well. At some point I have to weigh plus and the minus , to me the minus out weighs the positive. The fans are the most important and I wear my heart on my sleeve , just in case you haven't noticed :-)
Shows for UK are on sale 1st week in Sept.
Hope some off you come.

Newcastle: To try and make it up , we are selling tickets 2 for 1 .. I am playing to just cover expenses. Do you think that is enough?

When people see you at your best, the minus is forgotten instantly. You set the bar so high that it's perhaps impossible to reach 100% of the time but that's also a credit to how great you can be.

I thought it rocked too :-) It needed the full band, and it reminded me of hearng it live in the show, which was great. The sound quality of the clip isn't good (although thanks for putting it up Warrio as I coudn't watch it live), but as so many people state so clearly that they can ignore that, what the hell ;) .. and I love Los Angeloser.

Wasn't flat  .. and you're lookng good!

The show I've seen this tour was indeed perfect. I understand you don't need grief and hassle, nor do you deserve it. Still think you bring so much to so many at so many concerts it's worth it, because you're on such incredible form, but that's just me being selfish .. I've never left a show feeling let down in any way, have always been able to ride the odd cancelled show because of the sheer joy of so many wonderful nights watching and hearing you in your unique style which after you will be gone forever .. As Andrew said, you set the bar so high .. it won't be matched!

I think that's more than enough Meat, that's wonderful of you to do that. That seems to be the main problem Meat, you're damned if you do, and you're damned if you don't. You get sick, and still go on and do your best, and people complain the show was no good and you shouldn't have gone on, or that you're past it and should give it up, but if you cancel they winge then too. But it's great that you are recovered now and putting on amazing shows once again. I'm really looking forward to the shows in Texas and Florida.

I will always be grateful for all of the great shows I've seen so far, and I'm looking forward to seeing you again very soon.

Shows for UK are on sale 1st week in Sept.
Hope some off you come.

Newcastle: To try and make it up , we are selling tickets 2 for 1 .. I am playing to just cover expenses. Do you think that is enough?
M

I think 2 for 1, and breaking even is definitely enough. Its very generous and im sure it will make them feel much better about the concert.

Well im not gonna say much, i have no idea of the specifics. I may be 22, but every day I watch live recorded DVD's and very recent youtubed shows of Springsteen, Ronnie Dio, Neil Young, the Stones, David Gilmour, Paul Mcartney, Willie Nelson, Leonard Cohen....All folks who are (or in ronnie's case were) between age 60-80.

I've watched those men go through rough patches where, honest to god for whatever reason, they sounded worse than usual and probably felt like age was wrecking their ability to put on a decent tour. But as a fan of 60's and 70's artists, Im happy to say that they have ALL worked through their problems, changed their shows and song arrangements to work with their current age and vocals, and they still put on a show worth paying money to see and hear, and that sell out!

Your in great shape physically and you can sing like f*cking crazy, better than most artists who are my age. Spacing the shows out this summer worked really well for you. Spacing them out even more by one day would probably help even more.

Now that your shows are back to a level of quality that all of your fans say each show is amazing, You will have a huge number of people wanting to see your shows while you are able to perform at this level. I say take advantage of that, continue to plug HCTB. I believe in you :D

HCTB on storytellers would be a dream come true.

By the way Meat, I played my 15 year old brother california isn't big enough in the car and he thinks its hilarous. He stared at me like 'whoa' when he heard your super high vocals on it. Now he's addicted to HCTB

He updated his facebook status saying how "Meat Loaf might be old but man he can still sing!" heheh....now he's had it on repeat for a few days and even likes did you ever love somebody.

This proves to me that HCTB would work for a younger generation. My girlfriend is 23 and she loves Madness and she likes the rest of the album too. I wish your record co had plugged HCTB to a younger generation. I can honestly say I never thought Mike would ever get addicted to HCTB. But He likes how funny and chill the music is :)

nikox1 18 Aug 2010 09:01

just do whats best for you Meat? you have given us 30+ years of joy and entertainment:D,, look forward to seeing this great new show!!! ps. - if you do call it a day on the live shows after this? but another studio album would be nice;)

K1ttycat 18 Aug 2010 10:11

Yipee re: Uk show, oh no re: ticket sale dates.....lol! I'm in the States for the beginning of September....ack. Guess it means setting the alarm so I'm up at 3am which will be fun - not only that but my mom's PC is so ancient and slow that tickets will probably be gone (or seats way in the back will only be left) by the time I can login! Nothing like a challenge. :D

Video looks great, btw, but I can't hear a thing! Don't understand as sound was perfect yesterday but suddenly I can't hear any music on PC....will go back to bed and start the day over again.

Hopefully this works, but here's a better quality version of it...

musically it sounds better than previous versions, though I still think it's missing something just that kick that the original has...

You wear your heart on your sleeve? i would never have guessed;) LOL...

Can be hard being that way, i am very much like that myself and lose the plot because of it !

As i am from that neck of the woods, ( Newcastle ) and i was at the show where you got real sick and had to go off stage. I can say YES IMO it is enough ! I am so thrilled that you will be coming to Geordie Land ! I know that my nephews and my dad will be well pleased !
I haven't forgotten how much money you gave to the charities, as well as the very generous fans who gave money !
Not every performer would have took the time, to try and give something back !
Thank you for that !

I'm not a fan of the song anyway, there's better songs that can promote HCTB in my opinion. Prize Fight Lover with Bongo's and Banjo's ;)

Meat - we know you give your all - I'm sorry for those who travelled to see you and couldn't, but you know Shit happens - its not your fault. My mother died last year and I was distraught - but was that her fault??? No - it just happens and we all gotta learn to live with it. I just wish you wouldn't beat yourself up over it - you give soo much happiness to so many who enjoy your shows, I'm sure no-one wants you to stop until your ready to.

You know - that is great - so many artists in your position wouldn't care but we can see you do. I just hope your promoters manage to get the message through to the TV and radio stations about what you're doing so the general public can see that you care.

I was there in Newcastle that night and we were gutted - but we were gutted at the thought that you might never perform again - we were gutted for you!

It will be fantastic to have you back in Newcastle.

Any chance of the return of the Bat Cave?????

Meat has announced that the end is nigh numerous times. I still forsee some kind of Greatest Hits tour after the Hang Cool tour has finished. From what I've heard of Justin's piano playing so far it would be a shame if he didn't get a chance to bash out some of Meat's back catalogue.

[QUOTE=Fire Ball;512351] With my weakness being my chest and lungs. I can't take giving so much grief to so many people. Much less myself.

Is there a reason why the shows have to be every other night? Why can't they be 2 days a week, this way your lungs would get enough rest in between shows. I don't know anything about scheduling shows, just asking. The tour would be long, but it might benefit your health which is more important. I don't believe anyone on here would object to 2 days a week instead of every other night.

I really tried to stay awake for Lopez but just couldn't do it. Thank you for posting the clip. I just love Los Angeloser. Missed the HOT RED jacket thou.

The cost at a rough guess. Meat would still have to pay for the band and crew whether they are working or not, plus all the hotel expenses.

This newest arrangement is superb. Love the extra percussion!

Thought the TV coverage was very poor though, the camera seemed to spend more time panning across the back of the audiences' heads rather than showing what was happening on stage. That's not how I like to watch my Meat on TV!

I know this would be more expensive (as Evil already pointed out), but I still think it's a great idea. Maybe just a few shows in select areas, filmed for a DVD, or perhaps shorter segments (8-10 shows) with longer breaks (2-4 weeks) in between them :??:

Meat .. of course you have to do what's best for you. But HCTB in a Storytellers format or a Greatest Hits tour (where you hit on every cd you've ever recorded) would be absolutelly amazing :))

Nah! Skip some of the crummier albums like MATLAF and BBIS. It will leave more room in the set for the better songs.

It's a really fun performance. My goodness, Patti looked good. Promo performances are always edited clips of songs, but "Los Angeloser" works very well in the live show.

That along with no shows near me (yet again) is why I have high hopes for a dvd from this tour. Much better than the MSO and 3 Bats sound although they were good shows, this stuff rocks more and Meat's voice free of the cysts is in the best form in quite some time.

Yes, Meat truly sounds amazing right now, and I absolutely agree with you about a live DVD

"Lopez Tonight"

Yo people. I don't this has already been discussed, but has anyone seen the clip of Meat performing 'Los Angeloser' on "Lopez Tonight"? Don't get me wrong, I love Meat and his music, but I really thought that was the poorest I've heard him... shall we say in a very long time. Just wondered what your thoughts were?

CarylB 18 Aug 2010 20:02

Try the thread Lopez Tonight in Loaf, Camera Action. Clips and discussion.

Me? I agree with Meat .. he rocked!! And sounded great .. there's a poor quality clip and a good one (the second in the thread) The second one gives a better quality sound, and with the full band backing this version edited for the studio was close to the fntastic performance Meat and the NLE do of this song in the live shows. He's singing as good as he was in the early nineties .. amazing!
