100. Living On The Outside
This is the START OUT OF HELL & ARRIVE TO HEAVEN topic.
Let's Go to Rock 'n' Roll!!!!!!! Living On The Outside (6) This song is a mix of Meat's old songs to me. Again, I hate the first speech lines, these are out of rhythm. I like the gospel chorus and the 80es glam way, but it's not Meat's style at all. This song is on the way of Lawyers, Guns And Money, Mercury Blues and Amnesty Is Granted. All of them aren't my favourites. My score: 6 |
best song on the album for me
9.5 as the only thing i don't like as much is the first couple of lines, but it's a v small complaint |
Doesnt do anything for me. Once again I prefer the Rick Brantley version. This sounds like a sped up smashed together clone of the original. Meat's version doesnt really have an intro, and where the Rick Brantley one builds tension, Meat's verison jumps right into the chorus.
Also I dont like that the line "dying like the only sinners left alive" was cut, that gave a bit of edge to the whole song. 4 |

I like this song. 9.

9.5. Kicks ass, particularly with Meat's bit of gravel in his voice.
|
At the time my favourite song - i love the intro and the lines "Cmon baby just ride with me". Itīs a sweeping (I dont know is this the right word in english?) song from the beginning to the end:-P
10+++ |
Basically a 21st entry "Modern Girl". That aint a bad thing.
Thing I hate is they cut the 'Dying like the only sinners left alive" from RB's version. Way better Live. 7/10 |
Very close too Peace On Earth to me 10/10 :D
|
Didn't care much for the song at first, but it really gets you by the one minute mark. It's probably my second favorite off the album (the first being MADNESS!!!).
9/10 |
Love it, 9/10.
Hey btw White On High have you still got those average scores for every song Meats done? Can't remember what won. |
Forget that last question, just seen the list!
|
One of the best songs on the album, IMO. Love it. 9/10
|
Love it, great tune and Meat's vocals are amazing.
9/10 |
Definitely a 9!! Probably a 10 or 11 live!!! I'll find out in Orlando.

10. It isn't FCOL, Hell it ain't BOOH Or AFL. For me that's not important and how I favour a song. I've heard both Brantley's recording and Meat's. Meat has a very southern feel, very hard. Starts off almost like a modern Green Day track. I never thought I see the day, when Green Day music would make me think of the Loaf, and the Loaf for Green Day.
I just have one more thing to say. In the lyrics... who is Elijah? Is it somebody in the book? |

My favourite "I-take-you-out-of-here" tune. :-) (9/10) |
The first minute or so makes no sense to me, then after that I've lost interest.
|
I just heard it on TV! Unfortunately it wasn't the entire song.
|
A superb song, from start to finish imo, an absolute 10 ! Hearing it live it just blows you away !
A killer chorus ! killer vocals and a stand out track for me. |

I like loud guitars but I think the piano on Brantley's version suits the song better.
