Motorcycle Guitar

Hey Meat Heads!!!

I've received so many emails in regards to how I do the motorcycle gtr. It got me thinking, hmmmmmmmmmm, why don't I record it and put it on my intro page??! Go to: www.metalloaf.com

Being that I have more time here than on stage with MEAT LOAF I decided to give it a kick start with a longer idle time. The gear shifting is created with the whammy bar. I change strings for each gear. The skid sounds are created by scratching the pick against the strings. The crash is created by holding the whammy bar down so that the strings flap across the fret board.

Hope you like it.

Steve6 10 Dec 2005 02:16

That's awesome Paul !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pudding 10 Dec 2005 03:22

I'm probably in a minority here but it doesn't sound like a motorcycle to me, not they way Todd's did on Bat. Great guitar playing though.

It's not on his site anymore, but does anyone have the sound/video clip to this? I'd love to know how to play it and what FX pedal I need?

If I remember correctly you don't, put the amp in distortion and use the wammy(sp?) bar so the strings flap across the fret board and use each string like it's a new gear. That's all I can remember right now...

sunneke 13 Nov 2006 22:10

Thanks for sharing the motorcycle sound Paul!!!!!

geordieloaf 13 Nov 2006 22:22

Ah thanks! But more info, more info!!

Just realised, if you read the first post in this thread it tells you all about it. Paul posts how he actually does it.
