The 'Elton John Suits'

They've appeared in the new video and Meat was wearing something similar on Popstar To Operastar. Is this a full on change of clothing for Meat that will carry through to the live shows and whatever else, or is it all a part of the build up for the album and the frilly shirts and cake-decorated jackets will make a return?

That was a long sentence! :weirdo:

Well all I know is that I'm sticking with the more 'traditional' way of dressing in my shows, as that's how most people remember Meat, hence why I still have long hair. however, if this album really does take off (and I hope it does) then Meat may become just as well recognised this way, which would mean I'd have to think about changing my image as well

PanicLord 19 Mar 2010 00:00

We really must get him some enormous glasses!

RadioMaster 19 Mar 2010 00:01

I love Meats new look, i think that the style is very much like Ed Hardy by Christian Audigier, who is my favourite designer:))

I really love it too ... the suits are very flattering :))

melon 19 Mar 2010 12:58

I think the new style is great, but I'd like to see a little less jewlery myself, but I can cope just fine if he decides to wear tonnes of it!!!

But I do think he will stick with what he has been wearing previously for touring, ie the black shirt and pants with some changes like he normally does (The sports shirts etc) But wouldn't suprise me either if he made some changes!! After all, whis whole album is a change isn't it?

Benny 19 Mar 2010 15:20

I love the Meat BLING :)

daveake 19 Mar 2010 15:26

At this rate, in the next video he'll be wearing one of Wario's backpacks ...

Ha ha that bad huh?

Evil One 19 Mar 2010 18:49

I should say that I think the suits on their own look pretty good, but the jewellery brings down the whole ensemble.

djfierce 20 Mar 2010 01:34

can't say i'm too bothered bout what he's wearing, as long as it's nothing too outrageous which for meat would have to be just short of a straight jacket i guess :?

I liked his performance outfilt on popstar, guess the music vid ones were ok too, but a suit is a suit is a suit to me ;)

I don't know about Elton John - that's not the first thing that sprang to my mind! SEXY is how I thought he looked in those sunglasses!

lol he did that on stage in the 80's

melon 20 Mar 2010 05:39

I've seen a pic of that straight jacket bit on stage

Rockette 20 Mar 2010 07:29

for my ten cents ...

I like the suits, but would prefer to let them (suits) do the talking and lose some of the bling. That said, I can adjust if Meat so desires to change his stage wardrobe.

Bunny slippers??? Have I missed something in the video?

I've always been curious about that. Why the tribute artists don't move with the times and change as Meat has. I remember reading about someone who used to do Posh Spice, and had trouble keeping up with all her different hairstyles, as she changed it so often.

Green is one of those colours, you have to pick the right shade as some shades are really nice, whereas others are rather putrid.

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I'm almost 30 years younger than Meat?

Ah well .. I wouldn't put him in anything putrid .. ;)

And too late to edit .. but when I wrote "lame jacket" earlier, I meant gold lame, as with an acute accent on the "e" .. but Gates doesn't make such things easy

Oh Caryl, I know you would never put him in anything putrid. But then what I consider putrid someone else may like. There is a shade of green I detest, that fluorescent lime green but my best friend loves that colour.

 Say what you will about the green jacket, but you KNOW that if Meat wore one, pics of it would be in One For The Girls with a certain group of forum members drooling over them :hand:

AndyK 21 Mar 2010 20:46

The only time Neil will be a pin up is if he's on a wanted poster :))

Jeanie 21 Mar 2010 21:10

Oh, Monstro and AndyK.. you are too funny!

Thanks, for the laugh. :))

Sorry that it was at your expense though, Flying Mouse.

 Dude, if I had a fan club web site, that I joined, and I found a thread like OFTG, i'd be considering early retirement.
Then i'd shelve that plan as not good enough, fake my death, have drastic plastic surgery, and live the rest of my life on hiding behind a twitching curtain :lmao:

Meat could dress as a giant chicken and he'd be praised for his sence of humour and the sexy ease in which he carries the look off

Now that is :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao: because it is true!!!!!!

Wario 06 Apr 2010 04:55

just came to me:
Meat should come out on stage dressed as TEDDY ROOSEVELT!!!
get it? Teddy Bear Tour? aha

suzieq 06 Apr 2010 05:21

Funny Wario....although he'd have to modify the Teddy Roosevelt character to fit with the short story. But if anyone can do it, Meat can. lol.

Drumbum 15 Apr 2010 21:51

I'm loving Meat Loafs look. It's very sexy (I'm 20, I shouldn't be saying that about a 60+ year old!). The red suit in Los Angeloser video is deadly but that green one in one of the above pictures...:?

Looks like he should be in a Paddy's Day Parade!
