Stark Raving Love from Bad for Good :D
Safe Sex from Original Sin

Hoping to see at least one of them one the album after Teddy

What's yours? :D

lorenzoduke 18 Feb 2010 09:17

I'd love to hear him try another Tom Waits song. Meat's recording of Martha is one of my favourite things he's ever done.

carole 18 Feb 2010 11:03

I read an article in a magazine a few years ago where he said he'd do Total Eclipse Of The Heart one day, I'd love to hear him sing that.

Carole

Me too, preferable another song from the Closing Time album. I would also like to hear him sing another Warren Zevon song - Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner, Werewolves of London or Boom Boom Mancini.

You took the words right out of my mouth!

Other than that I think Maria by Blondie would be a good one to do.

Thats the exact reason why I thought it'd be great :D

howlerformeatloaf 18 Feb 2010 14:45

I'd like to see him do some more of his Elvis songs. He did a great job on American trilogy.

meatrocks1 18 Feb 2010 16:38

TOTAL ECLIPSE OF THE HEART would be an excellent one for Meat and CC... if CC comes back....to give CC a chance to have the spotlight for 5 minutes....Patti would be awesome doing it to but she does AFL with Meat...What ya say Meat.......TOTAL ECLIPSE OF THE HEART??????

Evil One 18 Feb 2010 17:00

I'm sure Meat has also said in interviews that he would never do Total Eclipse as he considers it Bonnie's song.

I heared that he wanted to play that song live at some point in his career, never heared rumors concerning recording this song.

I'm fairly certain he already did that one :p

rocketwaveuk 18 Feb 2010 22:51

Old live recording

Meat Loaf sung a version of River Deep Mountain High and it was very good but not a studio quality recording, I would like to see this re-vamped and on a future album

MeatLoafFanRay 18 Feb 2010 23:05

lol good one @ RadioMaster

madagascar 18 Feb 2010 23:16

I'd die to hear Meat's studio version of EODM's 'I Want You So Hard(The Boy's Bad News)'.:-):-)

Agree with you on that one lorenzoduke. I think Meat puts so much emotion into that one.

Cant see it ever happening but I would like to hear Meat cover ZZ Top's Rough Boy

PanicLord 18 Feb 2010 23:31

The Kursaal Flyers - Little Does She Know. He could ROCK that song. Current version is hilarious, but imagine it "meated up"!

RadioMaster 18 Feb 2010 23:32

i agree, especially as this is one of those songs that doesnt take itself too seriously. Would be interesting to hear...

I have to agree with that one, the live version from the last tour was great and I would love to hear a studio version.

Ah yes, I remember him saying that. It's all coming back to me now ...

MeatLoafFanRay 19 Feb 2010 00:05

I think Meat would do a good cover of Detroit Rock City by Kiss

Which reminds me ... Patti did an awesome version of TFAWIYTB - would be great if she got a chance to do that one during a Meat concert. Would give him time for some beer/rest/oxygen ;-)

Dave

Bat3rocks 19 Feb 2010 04:55

I would like to hear him sing "The First Time Ever I saw Your Face"

Same here, I loved Meat singing that on the last tour, it would be great if he recorded it, even as a b side to one of the singles.

Carole

WhenItComes2LovingU 22 Feb 2010 03:45

I vote for "Calling Dr. Love." Meat's good with the verses, and the band (especially Patti) can help with the main part of the chorus.

PanicLord 22 Feb 2010 10:24

Oh and also Dance In My Pants. Ignoring for a moment the ridiculous laughter, it is a cracking bit of Rock N Roll.

MeatLoafFanRay 22 Feb 2010 14:45

19th Nervous Breakdown by The Rolling Stones is another I think would be good.

lisa01 22 Feb 2010 14:55

songs youd like to see meat loaf cover

you are not alone by michael jackson or earth song

duke knooby 22 Feb 2010 17:19

not sure if you could say cover, but i'd love to hear him do a studio recording of still the children and only when i feel :D

Elijah's way 22 Feb 2010 17:55

I would love to here him cover I Want to Know What Love Is by Foreigner or Kashmir by Led Zeppelin.

allrevvedup 22 Feb 2010 19:08

There's a song on Halestorm's album called "Better Sorry Than safe" which i think he could do a great version of, by bringing it down a little bit to suit a male vocal.

PanicLord 28 Feb 2010 19:07

2 more:

Making The Perfect Man by Chris De Burgh (sounds like a Meat Loaf tribute track in a way anyway).
Mean Woman Blues by Roy Orbison.

Lucky79 28 Feb 2010 19:09

Warren Zevons' -Accidentally like a Martyr

What about Cryin' by Roy Orbison? That would be quite good.

PanicLord 28 Feb 2010 21:10

ooh yes - as a duet with Bonnie Tyler!??!:cool:

Loads of the Big O's stuff might work.

like... You Got It

Or how about "You're Not Alone Any More" by the Travelling Wilburys?

Wario 01 Mar 2010 00:57

Shout by James Brown

mszee 18 Mar 2010 04:25

Think we had this thread somewhere before...

Ah...so many new songs to cover now...

Adam Lambert has a unique song on his album...it's "Soaked" I believe by Muse...that I would have loved to hear from Meat...

And once again...Leonard Cohen...Hallelujah...yeah, it's been done bezillion times...I just think that Meat can make it remarkably unique...

Thought for a moment of Lady Gagas "Speechless"...but that will need shuffling of the lyrics...obviously girl-ish song...but a good one as well...

Oh yeah....and Tainted Love...heard it from Duke Special and would LOVE to hear Meat's version...

Dropped this in another thread :D Still, doesnt hurt to put it here as well

PanicLord 18 Mar 2010 08:18

Indeed not. But I've just had a little thought. Although I would love Meat's versions of all these songs, I think I would much prefer it if he keeps on releasing new material.

We all would like that...I think it is easier though to do new songs...but it is a true art to make something totally new and fresh from something old...in any event...everything old is new again...

PanicLord 19 Mar 2010 08:38

Really? I always thought it would be much harder to create something great from scratch.

A Slice Of English 19 Mar 2010 09:56

"Some Of Us" by Starsailor.

since Muse are the most boring band I've ever seen live I hope he's totally turned the song around

Evil One 19 Mar 2010 17:53

Tonight Is What It Means To Be Young, although I think Meat might be slightly too old for it now!

That's a real good suggestion. I second that.

Evil One 19 Mar 2010 18:39

I reckon it would make a for a good encore. Patti and CC could sing the meat of the song and Meat could join in on the chorus.

Saw them at Oxygen 2004 and they really did bore me to tears, the confetti light show thing at the end was the highlight for me as it meant the show was just about over.

To me they come across as a poor man's radiohead, and I do like radiohead, hey it's opinion everyone has one.

You Make Me Real by the Doors would be a great one for Meat to do...or maybe Moonlight Drive

Sue K 19 Mar 2010 19:45

... Sir Elton's Tiny Dancer ...

I believe it's on youtube...it's very big and very theatrical song...Adam IMO made a candy out of it...Meat can make it...well...Meaty???

mszee 20 Mar 2010 18:36

Oh and I don't believe Muse actually performed...I think they have given it to Adam...

CD? I guess I was thinking of live I've seen a few years back...

TheDoode 25 Mar 2010 17:18

Wishful Thinkin' by Poison (Hollyweird album).
Wait until the chorus, and you'll totally get it!

You Didn't Break It by Steve Vai (from Flexable Leftovers).

Ignore the videos, close your eyes, imagine The Loaf.
Wouldn't it be cool if Meat recorded You Didn't Break, with a very different arrangement, and Steve Vai played guitar on it.

Elijah's way 25 Mar 2010 23:46

Lightning crashes by Live. it would be different but that's the rout he seems to be going.

A Slice Of English 27 Mar 2010 00:45

"Hell Is Living Without You" by Alice Cooper.

Meat would rock this.

allrevvedup 30 Mar 2010 18:21

referring to the desmond child period of alice cooper then?
